Not now my Satellite Pro L40 will detect wireless networks, and the light does not illuminate when the switch is triggered.

How can I know what is the problem?

I'm afraid that the WLAN adapter is not correctly enabled.
Please put the WLAN to position on and after making this combination of keys using FNF8 and enable the wireless network adapter.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - how to enable the WLan using ConfigFree

    Can you help me?

My English is bad I do not end.

    The question is:
My computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 and I use the ConfigFree for the wireless, but it seems that the WiFi network is disabled.

    Help please!
I want to know what's wrong

    Thank you!!

    Hello!

Your wireless network card is recognized correctly in the Device Manager, or you may notice a yellow exclamation?
Her check first because otherwise, you can get the WLAN to work.

In addition, you can activate WLAN with the material on the laptop switch which must be set on and the FN + F8 key combination.
    Check it!

After this Free Config should find your WLAN router if you are in the range of that.

  • Satellite Pro L40 wireless channel selection

    I have a Realtek 8187 b WLAN in my Satellite Pro L40.

I have the latest drivers installed with xp pro, but can't set the channel everything but 10. How can I change the channel when I get the message that the channel range must be 10-10. This just doesn't seem right.
Channel top 10 isn't a problem, but when I'm somewhere else, it is impossible to establish a connection, at least that channel 10 is used.

    Hello

Have you checked the settings in the WLan card properties?
Go to the devices-> ECS-> Wlan card Properties Manager.
The Advanced tab should contains different settings.

Wlan channel can also be changed using the Wlan configuration utility Intel ProSet or Atheros Client utility such as tools.

    > Satellite Pro L40 - how to make a dual boot with two recovery disks?
Short answer: you can't do that. Maybe if you have two hard disks (I tried didn't) but as much as I know your SP L40 has only one.
Ask this smart guy, how to do this. Maybe it's a useful tip.

  • Satellite Pro L40 Wireless does not and wont stop correctly

    Hello
just got a Satellite Pro L40-15 1 week ago and it's been downhill.

The Wireless does not work (and yes the switch is activated and drivers installed). Sometimes windows recognizes no device when I boot.

And when I stopped he said blocking down, but crashes just on this screen.

Now, I'm an advanced user, so I've tried many things. Can anyone help?

    Thank you

As a first step, I would recommend to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and renew the operating system.
Then update the Vista of the State. I mean to install patches and fixes Vista all published.

    Check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?MessageID=107665

Here you can see that a missing patches can have a bad influence on the wireless network card and the entire operating system!

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro L40-15 has: motherboard problem

    Hi all

I have a satellite pro L40-15 and it was running vista basic but very slowly.

A friend advised me that I needed to renew the bios for xp install xp. I did, and now he's dead. The fan is not still running, even if the wireless lights and 3 lights above the power switch will Flash once.

I took the motherboard out (part number 08g2002ta22jtb). During the inspection, there seems to be a reset button on the plateau (near the battery terminals). It is only accessible with the removed card. Does anyone know haw to restore bios factory settings please?

    Thanks in advance.

    John.

    Hi mate,

It's cool to you finally disassemble your machine. But you won´t get no benefit from this action given that the bios needs to be reflashed by a technician of toshiba, BECAUSE they have the right tools to do this.

I don't know how or what tools they use, but I had a similar problem on my Satellite A100 and they fixed without the motherboard. (So it was told to me).

If I were you, I would send the machine to another and the closest to the ASP (certified partner) in your country. They should bring back your machine to life.

Here´s a [LINK | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_whitepaper.jsp?service=EU&WHITEPAPER_ID=0 000000871] to a telecommunications service provider ASP if you need help...

  • WiFi on Satellite Pro L40

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro L40 (PSL43E-00P00VN5). What standard to use my computer - 802.11 * b * or 802.11 * g *? If the two then how to choose which (manually or automatically)? I would like to buy AirPort Express (Apple) and if my computer uses b-specifications then speed is maximum. 11 Mbps, and if g-specifications speed then is 54 Mbps.

If I understand all this mysterious correct technical text...

    Hello

As far as I know that the Satellite Pro L40 PSL43E was equipped with the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network card and according to the product Atheros website this adapter supports Wlan 802 standards. 11B and 802.11 g.
    http://www.Atheros.com/pt/AR5007EG.htm

Usually, you can change the WLan standard in the properties of card Wlan (Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab card Wlan)

  • Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40

I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.

    Things I've tried:
-latest drivers for the 2.1.77.0 modem (and the rest of the system) downloaded from Toshiba and installed OK
-all the updates of windows installed
-removal of the modem in the Manager of peripherals and re - install
-suppression of the agrsmdel.exe and then re-install
-try different cables to plug into the phone jack
-several different ISPS and phone numbers
-reduce the maximum speed of the connection
-connection to the same ISP with my Satellite L10; works very well never have time!
-using the windows to diagnose and repair the tool (set last resort!); says that the modem works fine and can not find a problem with the connection

Is it possible that the update of the BIOS on the laptop would make a difference (currently v 1.60)? I did some research on Google and found messages on various forums, which suggests that the connection between the motherboard and the modem chip is a little doubtful for all the Agere Soft Modem; If the case is it something I can fix myself or I should go for warranty repair?

    Midders

    Hello

I'm sure that there is no problem with your modem, but with the configuration or even s ISP modem. I recommend you to speak with the support of the ISP.

  • Satellite Pro L40 / L45 - closed/open/sensor cover

    Original title was:
    Pro L40 - location of the sensor/switch cover closed/open

    The moderator (?) changed to:
Satellite Pro L40: black screen but faint image in background

This is the reason why I write again; What I'm looking for - at this point, at least - is NOT _specifically_ the LOCATION OF the SWITCH of LID on the L40, how to recover my screen in general.

Note: My laptop is a Pro L40 but I understand that his in many ways identical to the L45 (UK and USA models) model?

QUESTION: Did anyone know exactly where the LID OPEN/CLOSED/SENSOR?
I couldn't find, although I completely disassembled the unit.

    I would appreciate help.

    Thanks and greetings
    Nicolas

    > QUESTION: no one knows exactly where the LID OPEN/CLOSED/SENSOR?

I'm not quite sure of the position but the LCD m module is connected to the 30pin CON1202 (CON1202 can be found in a small Bay LVDS, which is placed at the bottom of the unit)
The 5 pins of the connector CON1202 gives the signal for the switch to COVER.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - drivers need to

    Hey.

I just installed a clean version of Windows (Vista 64-bit) on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE... But I have no drivers CD or anything.
I can't connect to internet because my Wifi does not work, because non drivers (and for some reason that I can't connect through the LAN (does not work on other portable computers as well).) And the lack of internet, it is really difficult to find drivers.

I downloaded the drivers from this site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

And I tried to download the LAN drivers wireless from here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads
But I'm not sure which one to choose? Also, should I install the Intel drivers first? I installed them, but while restarting the computer froze and I had to force him to stop... :(

Are there not as a driver Package, you can download, as, instead of the driver CD or something?

    I hope you can help

    ANDA H.

    Hello

To be honest I don t understand your problem. I checked the Web from Toshiba site and there are some drivers listed and also for LAN and WLAN card. Just search for your model and Vista 64-bit. You will find a short list of necessary drivers.
    Check this box!

In addition, you can turn on/off WLAN if you press FN + F8. Did you do that?

  • Satellite Pro L40 and it crashes and freezes

    Hi guys

I have a Satellite Pro L40 and it crashed on me a few weeks ago.
It will turn upward, but everything freezes.

They gave me a copy of Vista to friend, but this only loads until it said 74.5 MB necessary and only 74.4 on the partition so I guess it does not load the full program of vista.

I don't have the original backup drive so cannot use it.
Is my only need to get a new hard drive and if what kind do you recommend.

Sorry if I have'nt it explains very well

    Derek

In my opinion, it is always good to have original Toshiba DVD facilities. If you want to order a visit https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx, and how much you should pay for it.

As Akuma wrote before starting installation Vista delete existing partitions, create new and install Vista on it. I don't think that you need a new HARD drive.

  • Question about the files to be transferred on the Satellite Pro L40

I have a portable Satellite Pro L40 and bought a upgrade disk to upgrade Vista Home Basic to Vista Home Premium.
But I can not install the upgrade because drive C is showing that only have 8 GB of space.
Drive E has 30G of space, but I can't transfer files from C to E to free up enough space.

Please can someone tell me how to transfer files from C to E?

I can ask the same thing as Akuma - why can you transfer files from C to E of t?

Open two windows in the Windows Explorer. On the left side of the C drive on the right side of drive E.
Mark all the files on the left side and move them to the right window. When you do with the key right mouse options will be displayed. Choose the MOVE option and I hope that the adaptation procedure will be launched.

Have you ever tried to do this?
An error message appears on the screen?

Question sorry but described is completely illogical.
