Satellite Pro L40 - football manager runs slowly
Hi guys,.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40
I ve bought a football game coach (lma manager 2007) for it and its really slow. What are my options to play better?
Help, please!
Hello
To be honest there are not many options to make the computer faster
But I see that your laptop uses ONLY 512 MB of RAM.
In my opinion it is certainly not enough and certainly desirable upgrade to 1 GB or 2 GB.
Therefore, I recommend upgrading the RAM.

Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40
I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.
Things I've tried:
-latest drivers for the 2.1.77.0 modem (and the rest of the system) downloaded from Toshiba and installed OK
-all the updates of windows installed
-removal of the modem in the Manager of peripherals and re - install
-suppression of the agrsmdel.exe and then re-install
-try different cables to plug into the phone jack
-several different ISPS and phone numbers
-reduce the maximum speed of the connection
-connection to the same ISP with my Satellite L10; works very well never have time!
-using the windows to diagnose and repair the tool (set last resort!); says that the modem works fine and can not find a problem with the connectionIs it possible that the update of the BIOS on the laptop would make a difference (currently v 1.60)? I did some research on Google and found messages on various forums, which suggests that the connection between the motherboard and the modem chip is a little doubtful for all the Agere Soft Modem; If the case is it something I can fix myself or I should go for warranty repair?

Hello
I'm sure that there is no problem with your modem, but with the configuration or even s ISP modem. I recommend you to speak with the support of the ISP.

Satellite Pro L40-15 has: motherboard problem
Hi all
I have a satellite pro L40-15 and it was running vista basic but very slowly.
A friend advised me that I needed to renew the bios for xp install xp. I did, and now he's dead. The fan is not still running, even if the wireless lights and 3 lights above the power switch will Flash once.
I took the motherboard out (part number 08g2002ta22jtb). During the inspection, there seems to be a reset button on the plateau (near the battery terminals). It is only accessible with the removed card. Does anyone know haw to restore bios factory settings please?
Thanks in advance.
John.
Hi mate,
It's cool to you finally disassemble your machine. But you won´t get no benefit from this action given that the bios needs to be reflashed by a technician of toshiba, BECAUSE they have the right tools to do this.
I don't know how or what tools they use, but I had a similar problem on my Satellite A100 and they fixed without the motherboard. (So it was told to me).
If I were you, I would send the machine to another and the closest to the ASP (certified partner) in your country. They should bring back your machine to life.
Here´s a [LINK | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_whitepaper.jsp?service=EU&WHITEPAPER_ID=0 000000871] to a telecommunications service provider ASP if you need help...

Hey,.

In power management, I put 'Status quo' for when I close the lid on my computer and power management is ' Always on '.I have the latest Bios and updates to the system.

Hi ib1.
You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or is it your own installation?
What to update the display driver? Take a look at the Toshiba page for the new display driver:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download driversDon t forget to look in the * archives * on Toshiba page because this model is a little older, so all of the downloads are moved in archive.

Re: Satellite Pro L40 - killed the laptop BIOS update
Recently I thought it would be better to download the latest drivers and upgrades for my Satellite pro L40 to keep up-to-date and partners the laptop that works smoothly. I couldn't have worse summer. Before I updated the new driver updates I thought it would be a good idea first update the Bios. So I downloaded the update of the Bios on the Toshiba site, unzipped the files and followed the online instructions for updating the BIOS. I double clicked on the BIOS file to run the update, the laptop says it was end the session, I waited and the Toshiba logo screen came. In the instructions, it says that I have to press F2 now and confirm that the date and time are correct. I should then press F9 to load all the default values and then press F10 to save and exit. At this point, the laptop must away to the loading screen, but... I got a black screen. IV turned off the computer and turn it back on, but still, I get a blank screen. The lights are on but know one's home.
Could a mod/staff/Board Toshiba administrator please explain to me why I'm going to draw the consequences of my lack full on my face because I followed a form of direct teaching of personnel of Toshiba or... Please run me through the process of bring back my cell partners in life, before that I get my Crown snatched jewels. This isn't a laugh. An upgrade directly from the manufacturer is not intended to cause you problems!
Please get back to me as soon as POSSIBLE. My first son moments of life (videos, photos) are on this laptop. That cannot be replaced. Please tell me that the laptop can be fixed...
Hello Durks
I'm really sorry to hear you I have this problem.
To be honest, it is not easy to discuss about this because a lot of people on this forum with a similar or same problem reacts quite aggressive if they don t hear exactly the thing they want to hear.In any case, I just want to write my comment. Don t be worried about photos and other important data. You can remove the laptop HARD drive, put it in a small box of HDD SATA 2.5 and connect the HARD drive to the other PC / laptop as external device. You will have full access to all stored data. So you can do the backup.
Update the BIOS.
What to say at this point?
I have checked the Toshiba download page and saw that the BIOS update is available for Windows XP Home edition and Vista pre-installed notebooks so I hope you ve chosen the right one. Anyway, it is not easy to fix screwed up in the BIOS. You hate me now, but I think you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Call them, explain the situation and ask what you can do about it.I hope you will fix this laptop soon.
Good luck.

The question is:

I want to know what's wrongThank you!!
Hello!
Your wireless network card is recognized correctly in the Device Manager, or you may notice a yellow exclamation?
Her check first because otherwise, you can get the WLAN to work.In addition, you can activate WLAN with the material on the laptop switch which must be set on and the FN + F8 key combination.
Check it!After this Free Config should find your WLAN router if you are in the range of that.

Vista 64 bit on Satellite Pro L40
I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my Satellite pro L40 and I downloaded all the necessary drivers for this OS, but I can't use the FN keys and volume on my keyboard.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why they won't work, I had Vista Home Basic on the machine before and they worked very well. The FN and the other keys work fine it's just the sound that does not work.
Hello
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and there are not many Vista 64-bit drivers for this unit L40. Your FN buttons don t work because you didn t install the driver necessary or tool that controls this feature.
I found a tool called Hotkey Utility, which was published in the Vista 32 bit driver section.
You can try to install it on your Vista 64 bit version, but to be honest I m nit sure if it will work
If she will not run, then you must use Vista 64-bit without the functionality of the FN button. -
Question about sound card on Satellite Pro L40
Hello
I use a program called Sibelius and recommended an ASIO compatible sound card.
Can someone tell me if the sound in the satellite pro L40 series card is compatible ASIO?
If not I can plug a card external sound which is compatible and if so how can I turn off the internal sound card.Thank you
I really don't think not someone will be able to give you information about the ASIO compatibility, but I see no problem, that is if you want to use the external device. Card internal sound, you can disable it in Device Manager.

Satellite Pro L40 - power supply is hot
Just taken delivery of the Satellite Pro L40 - I am a little worried the heat from the power to the laptop, sat for an hour and is extremely hot. Is this normal?
Hey M,
Yes, it's quite normal for the hot supply. In some cases, it may become very hot indeed and Toshiba put a sticker of warning about feeding on this 'feature '.
The adapter provides a current variable to meet the needs of the laptop, then you should expect the adapter to heat up significantly when running applications or games that use a lot of resources of the laptop.
Kind regards

Satellite Pro L40 - what is lasting average battery?
Hello
Recently, I received my Satellite Pro L40 and wonder what is the average battery? Once fully charged, it seems to be able to handle 1 hour max. Is this normal?
The laptop I had before was the same, but my friends laptop, which is more than a year older than mine, runs for more than 3 hours on a fully charged battery.
Is there a fault?
Thank you
Hello
It is not easy to answer this question because the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. You know that you will be able to run much longer Notepad on the battery power using only a few common applications like Word or Internet Explorer.
Play games, watch DVDs or burn CD/DVD of waste more than energy because the performance of simple devices is much higher!Fact is that portable Pro L40 was equipped devices and high-tech parts. The laptop supports a nice GPU of fort Intel Pentium Dual - Core CPU, huge HARD drive, and and and
In addition, you must know that the Vista operating system preinstalled eat a lot of resources and waste more energy than Win XP!
All of this has an influence on the working time of battery.Last but not least, he should know that there are different batteries on the market.
If you want to increase the performance of the battery, buy a stronger battery!regads

Have now installed XP on my Satellite Pro L40-134 that had OS Vista as OEM
high-definition Intel (azalia) codec adi ad1986a audio
Hi, I have a problem a lot of time with the sound on my laptop.
Description
* No sound
* An exclamation in device saying management "Audio device high definition Audio Bus".
I removed Vista (which came with) and installed a genuine XP PRO SP3
Downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba Download Center (used the Satellite Pro L40 - 17 H, this is a similar model with XP as the operating system OEM)
Installed in the correct order according to "how to install" Toshibas pdfHad a typical saying "Audio Modem Bus High Definition Audio" for awhile, but it disappeared during the installation of the drivers in the correct order.
Now I sculled the Earth for a solution, but found nothing.
Answers to these questions would be very apprechiated.
What is my motherboard model name?
who is the manufacturer of the MoBo?
Who made my equipped with a sound card? The best course would be if I could get a link to a nice download that solved my problem.
All the best.
C_sdi
After reading your ad something was strange for me on this pdf "how to install". Now I know what the problem is here.
Your laptop model has the name of the European model, but on the European download page, there is no pdf file "how to install".Now I wonder what you do exactly.
If you check the European download page, and it's right for you, you'll notice that Toshiba doesn't offer WXP stuff for your laptop model. So you will be unable to find the proper drivers and Toshiba-specific tools and utilities, and I assume that you will not be able to complete the configuration and installation of Windows XP Home edition.Anyway, you can try to find the proper drivers that Googling around or you can try install stuff designed for model laptop similar but I can't say for sure if it works or not.
On your Satellite pro motherboard is Intel 943GML + Intel® ICH7-M, then you can try to find suitable driver on Intel support page. Sound chip is ADI AD1986A.
Good luck.

Satellite Pro L40 PSL25E need CD/DVD TS-L462C driver
I have a Satellite Pro L40 PSL25E and need to reload the driver for a TSST TS-L462C T010 integrated CD/DVD unit.
Can someone tell me where to get the driver and how to load it.
The audit on the web, they talk about the so-called 'flash' using the for install? The only way I know about installing drivers is the Device Manager (which tells me that my driver is missing or damaged).
The windows version is XP.Please can someone help.
Do you need a driver for the reader of CD/DVD TS-L462C?
Sorry, but the driver doesn't exist. The Windows operating system uses the Microsoft own driver. These drivers are already provided in the Windows operating system and a 3rd party driver is really not necessary.
May I ask what's wrong with the TS-L462C drive?

Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE starts no - HDD + CPU fan is not
Hello
I own a Satellite Pro L40 - 17F (PSL4BE-00R005EN).
I've been running the system on the current for a while now.
I decided to remove the battery to avoid damage.
Last night, I accidentally pulled the addapter at the back of the laptop. Since then; the machine won't start.I noticed that the HARD drive was not making the usual noises. Then I realized was not the CPU fan is spinning.
Nothing appears on the screen, not even the start menu. The only things that do not seem to work are the DVD player & power light!
I had the back of the machine off; I didn't see any obvious reason for the problem.I'm looking for a second opinion on what is happening with it, and if it can be fixed without having to buy a new motherboard.
Thank you. Dan.
Hmm. possibly, there is nothing wrong with your motherboard.
Try this common workaround that has helped me in such cases.Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Leave the laptop for about 30 min and after this short break, put the battery in the laptop and connects to the AC adapter.
This short procedure helped me to sort a similar g and strange question.
I hope that you will succeed if you please post some results.
