  I could give my experience with Satellite M30 and HDD upgrade possibilities.
  To my knowledge the M30 Sat supports a 40 GB, 60 and 80 GB HARD drive for sure.
  In my opinion, you can use the 100 GB HARD drive, but more large HARD s drive will not run and works correctly.
  So go to a smaller size of HARD drive and enjoy the laptop!

  could you describe the difference between the original USB cable and the USB extension cable?

  The laptop and the printer works correctly with the original USB cable, but it seems that the extension USB cable is an inexpensive which does not fulfill the technical specifications and the laptop has a problem with this issue.

  To solve the problem in my opinion you could do an update of the BIOS, look if for your printer is a new driver available and reinstall the USB drivers.

  Also, you could test whether USB, the same problem occurs with other cables.

  I am struggling with this problem for months... the latest version of Eve on my toshiba satellite pro m30 running windows xp with service pack 1 installed gives a message box with an error message when the stop and I'm unable to eliminate this error. Unfortunately, I can't consider reinstall the system from scratch, because there are many other applications installed and I can't lose the settings for them. I read the forums and realized I'm not one of the problems with toshiba power saver. I'm even lucky to successfully at startup started it! Yet, it hangs at shutdown.   If you have reinstalled your system using the Toshiba recovery disks the touchpad should have the right drivers and be fully functional. I seem to remember that it is possible to disable the touch pad using one of the "keyboard shortcuts" (F9 on my SA30) in order to check that it has not been inadvertently pressed.

  I m having problems with my nvidia Geforce FX Go5200, in a portable Satellite Pro M30, (processor Intel Pentium M 1.7 GHz, 512 MB Ram). This card was working fine suddenly the laptop stops.

  I formatted the laptop and installed Win XP PRO. After installing the driver VGA, I restarted the laptop, but black screen started to come right after the Win XP splash screen appears. The laptop continues to start up but no screen.

  It starts fine in safe mode. I get my best screen simply by disabling the geforce card or uninstall the driver. I tried to install a new driver for the VGA on the download from Toshiba site, but same problem appears. I also tried the BIOS update but nothing happens.

  I recently bought a Satellite Pro M30. The keyboard responds more fully. When I turn on the laptop and when it ask me to login credentials I'm simply not able to enter, nothing happens when the buttons are pressed.

  I have re-installed the unit using the CD of restoration but no luck. Interestingly, when I put the laptop in sleep mode, and when she returns to the normal mode, the keys work for a few seconds. If I kill the explorer.exe and launch a new, key works also for a while.

  Because the keys work when the computer comes out of standby, the keyboard is not completely dead/failure. My OS is XP Pro SP2.
