Hello Michi
It is not easy to give you accurate information, but if your laptop is the Intel Centrino mobile technology you can use of LAN Mini PCI Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG adapter. I have the same WLAN card and can use WPA and 54mbits data transfer speed.
If you want to be sure, try contacting the Service of your country partner. They should know this for sure.

Need info on max size of HARD drive available for Satellite Pro M30-813
Hello
The question is mainly to be sent to Toshiba authorized support personnel. The limitation of the maximum size of a HARD drive internal that I could use with my Satellite Pro M30 - 813, what exactly?
Recently, I bought and installed seagate SATA drive of 160 GB, on which I installed WXP Pro and have been running for a while with no problems. Recently, I've been copying large amounts of data to an external hard drive to my new internal drive, and that the files have been copied, as I noticed have about 50 GB of free space left, I knew windows "delayed write failed" and a failure of massive wall without the possibility to recover the data. The system would no longer boot time and the entire MBR has been damaged. As a result, I lost all the data on my new drive.
Well, I realize that Toshiba is not responsible for additional hardware that I use with my computer laptop and who is not officially supported by Toshiba, I am sure that as an end-user of a Toshiba product, that I have the right to know a lot information of limiting size of HDD for my model of laptop. So I ask, representing technical support Toshiba to give me an official reply directly to my question.
Thank you in advance,
Andrejs

Hi Andrew
> The question should mainly be addressed to Toshiba authorized support staff
I think that you are in the wrong place if you are looking for a response from an authorized Toshiba support.
This is a user to user Toshiba forum! You will here meet passionate and Toshiba laptop owner who share knowledge and trying to solve the problems, but no one of Tosh :(I could give my experience with Satellite M30 and HDD upgrade possibilities.
To my knowledge the M30 Sat supports a 40 GB, 60 and 80 GB HARD drive for sure.
In my opinion, you can use the 100 GB HARD drive, but more large HARD s drive will not run and works correctly.
So go to a smaller size of HARD drive and enjoy the laptop!I've goggled a bit and found compatible drive HARD and part numbers
HITACHI GBC000Z810-> 80 GB
HITACHI GBC00014810-> 80 GB
TOSHIBA HDD2188B-> 80 GB
HITACHI G8C0000Z610-> 60 GB
HITACHI G8BC00013610-> 60 GB
TOSHIBA HDD2183-> 60 GB
TOSHIBA HDD2184-> 60 GBI hope this might help you a little!

Win XP drivers do not work with Win 7, but you should try some drivers for Vista.
Try some drivers released for other series...Also try this:
You can go to Device Manager-> properties-> Details tab SC card reader
You can find something like that.
PCI\VEN_1217 & DEV_7120FRI means provider

Hello
Have you used the Atheros WLan or Intel WLan card?
As far as I know if you unit has an Atheros WLan card you should always use the Atheros Client Utility to connect to some networks.
In this case, the option use Windows to configure my wireless network must be disabled. If you the Intel card this option must be checked.Please visit this site and points.

Satellite Pro M30 - WLan does not work
My Satellite Pro M30 laptop is about 5 years old and is a refurb. Until yesterday, my wireless connection was very good. Although my wireless connection is running with high speed and it is connected, I now cant get on the internet without using the ethernet cable.
It is certainly a problem with the laptop itself.
A framework has changed (perhaps with a function key?) or the internel wireless card packed.Can anyone suggest anything I can try with the laptop first before you buy an external wireless card?
Thank you.
I don't think there is that you can do.
The wireless network card appears correctly in Device Manager.
Make sure that the wireless network card is enabled correctly (FN + F8).
There may be a problem with the WLAN antenna. Who knows?Anyway, if you can't get this to work once again use small USB WLAN adapter and be happy.
To be honest, is not bad idea because new USB WLAN glue can work with G WLAN or even N. The original WLAN card in your notebook is, I guess, old A/b.Good bye

Satellite Pro M30 series deactivates the WLan connection
I have an old Satellite Pro M30 series. Whenever I turn on the wireless signal, the computer closes its doors.
I assume that the driver's latest version.I'm not known for that Yes, there is someone out there who can advise me on where to find the latest driver and install it.
Assuming this is the problem.
Thank you
Gibbsey> spend a lot of time on the wireless signal, the computer closes its doors.
What do you mean exactly by farm down?
The laptop turns off automatically once the WiFi (switch) card is turned on?I put t think this would cause obsolete WLan driver, this sounds like a hardware problem.
In case it of not possible to use the internal WiFi card, I recommend to use an external USB WiFi dongle.
Would be the best optionPS: all the drivers for old Toshiba laptops are placed on the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
You will need to search the archives (in the product Type click Archive) for a list of the old series of laptop computer. -
Satellite Pro M30 - NVIDIA graphics controller problem
Hello everyone
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 with a Nvidia GeForce FX graphics controller. ([Image of the motherboard | http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/hardousss/PC3.jpg])
My problem is when I turn on the PC and wait a few seconds red and white vertical stripes begins to appear on the LCD and it cannot go after the BIOS password screen. I can type the BIOS password but when I hit OK or button that ENTER the laptop freezes. ([See image 2 | http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/hardousss/PC2.jpg])
In very rare occasions where the laptop was turned off for a long time, I listen to him on and he could overcome the BIOS password screen but freezes after a while: ([see Image 3 | http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/hardousss/PC1.jpg])
I plugged it to an external monitor and nothing has changed.
I removed the inverter (responsible for the lightning of the LCD screen) and the problem is still there.Always to blame the graphics chip from NVIDIA.
I read here that it is not possible to replace them because they are soldered to the motherboard. But I want to, where can I get a laptop NVIDIA graphics chip. They sell somewhere?
I have a friend who works in an electronics manufacturing company (SAGEM) and told me that they have the tools needed to replace any piece on any Board of Directors.Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello, my friend
I agree with you. It must be a faulty graphics card. I put t believe you can buy a graphics chip separately but you can buy mainboard used laptop on eBay. In my view, Exchange Board is no problem for you.
