Satellite Pro P100-124 starts upward, but nothing on the screen

Hello world

I'm a newbie here & laptop but my companion got a satellite Pro P100 (Toshiba Satellite Pro P100-124 PSPA4E-001001EN) & it is my asked for help. Here's the problem:

Laptop starts to go through the procedure of starting with lights coming and cd player starts to work the rotation of fans, but nothing shows up on the screen

I said it could be the graphics card but could do with a starting point, I'm PC savvy but on the desktop, it's my first attempt at a portable computer so please be nice...

Hello

Have you tried this thing?

->, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the portable computer
-> waiting for ~ 30 min 1 h
-> connect the two parts again and try to turn on the device

If this will not help, then it would mean that a hardware problem serious causes this problem and you will need to contact a Toshiba ASP technician to know exactly what s wrogn.

Good luck

Looks like it could be a serious hardware problem, but I can't say without more information.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: cursor moves out of control on the screen

    Hey guys,.

I'm seriously going crazy right about now... my problem is the following:

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100, Windows XP Professional with SP2, memory: 512 MB.

About two weeks ago my cursor began to move up and down whenever I pressed the space bar. It has gotten worse since. My cursor moves out of control across the screen (there are usually in the upper right or lower left) and I can not recover. I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with my external mouse (optical), because this problem also occurs when I use my pointing device. Even in safe mode.

    The thing I've tried:
    Ran Spybot: Search and Destroy
    Ran Adaware
    Xoftspy RAN
A ran Symantic Antivirus 10 (complete analysis of the system in safe mode)
    New keyboard
    New motherboard

Nothing helps. I'm this close to format my pc. Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I put t he understand. You have changed the keyboard and the motherboard, but you did not recover the OS with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
The first procedure that you should do is the new installation of the OS before you change or replace anything on the laptop.

Unfortunately, it is not easy to say why it occurs. A friend of mine has a similar problem with the cursor. The cursor has jumped on the screen and it was not possible to open applications. It has (or service) resolved with the replacement of keyboard.

If the new installation OS doesn't fix this strange cursor, so I recommend you contact Toshiba.

  • Help! Turn on 10 power but nothing on the screen!

I got my switch 10 during about 6 weeks. First month was great. Then he started to get stuck in the mode 'sleep', but on mine, I realized I just need to hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn off or would be put on normally when I press the power button again. We were happy about that, he has worked steadily.

Thus, from yesterday: the battery was dead the day before. I left that it plugged in all night and day, then last night, I unplugged and tried to power it back it up. The backlight comes on - and sometimes it stays on, sometimes it goes off after about 10 seconds - but nothing happens. I left it on with the backlight all the night night LAST to drain the battery again. This morning, he was off, I plugged it in, same problem, no change.

I tried the button power + down / volume; Alt + F10; the reset button seems to do nothing; I have also seen a suggestion of F2 + F9 + F10 + entry that also did not work.

I can tell when the device is activated because the windows at the bottom of the screen button starts to vibrate when they are hit. Right now he's connected with the fixed Orange light in the power button.

I am afraid that the thing is just gone, but is there anything ELSE I can do? It was a refurb, so there is no guarantee. The seller has provided a 30 day warranty. Ha ha.

    Thank you...

OK a tower more: with PC switched off, hold down the F2 key on the keyboard, then hold the power button until something happens.

After that, I'm out of conjecture.

  • When the battery works fine. When the power adapter is pluged into the computer will be boot & when the desktop appears on the screen go blankin seconds. computer is still on, but nothing on the screen.

I have HP Pavilion ZV5325 with windows XP. When I start the computer with the battery power only everything seems to be okay. When I plug the charger (HP part #316688-001 power AC) start of the Welcome screen comes on, but when the desktop appears that the screen turns off after a few seconds. The computer is still following this timje, but with a white screen.

    Hello

    ·        Happens before? Since when are you facing this problem?

I suggest to reset the power of the system options and check whether the problem is resolved. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click on Start menu and click Run.

    b. type cmd in the run box, and then press ENTER.

    c. type the command which is given below.

    powercfg /RestoreDefaultPolicies

I suggest you to update the BIOS and see if the problem is resolved.

    Thanks and regards.

  • Activation of keypad on the Satellite Pro P100

I just got my laptop new Satellite pro P100 and cannot find how to set the number pad (integrated) to be enabled at power on.
I checked in the Setup, the Toshiba HW setup... nothing

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Thanking you in advance

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no sense for me to have 'num-lock' enabled at startup on all laptops.
As you know, all the keys the keypad uses are shared with the regular alpha keys. In order to avoid interpretation of the wrong password (on a reduced keyboard set), the "Numlock at startup" function has not been implemented in most (all?) notebook BIOS.

You can hold the key while you tap on the "blue pad", but that's all you can get without activate "num lock" with the +.

If you have an attached external keyboard, very probably the num-lock on the extra cushion will be "on" by default. Otherwise, if you do a lot of the use of the numbers, you can get a num - pad usb to your laptop. There are quite expensive "toshiba-made" on e - bay ;)

  • Satellite Pro P100 - screen and sound problems after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hi all

I got my Satellite Pro P100 (model number is PSPAEE-00C006EN and the second digit of the serial number is '7') upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and since then, some bugs seem to have had place - can someone help me on the following:

-L' screen DIMS increments, irrespective of the fact that I have saved my power settings to stay on FULL (battery or sector)

-No sound. Once or twice, the sound card worked and settings to say this works correctly (and you can see the movement of the graphic equalizer).
In terms of PC knowledge, I would be 5/10 (so not a dummy, but certainly not a pro! and we tried a lot of the more obvious things)

    Thank you all

    Hello

1.) if the screen dim option doesn't properly work, I recommend you to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package. This package controls these functions, the keys FN and others. Visit the Toshiba page for an update!

2.) did you check if the sound is muted if the equalizer work? In addition you can also try to update the audio driver might it work ;)

  • Satellite Pro 400CDT not start after the display of a stack

I have the same problem as this post:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=16837

    Is there a solution yet?

It is with a very old laptop 400CDT Satellite that I use to pay my car. What happened, I lay laptop running on battery until it went flat and now I can't start laptop with or without battery (and connected a/c)... turns on, it don't think light for 1 second, but nothing on the screen?

    What this may be?

No one can tell you with certainty what can be the problem. We can only speculate, but just after the exact diagnosis laptop you can find more information. As you can see in another thread, there is no universal solution, and I assume that you need professional help.

BTW: one thing I didn t understand. When you turn on your laptop, don't stay laptop but nothing showed on the screen or the computer laptop immediately switches off the POWER?

  • Satellite Pro P100: Need for new display drivers for NVIDIA Geforce Go 7600

    Hey there...

New problem. I just got the New Age of Conan game.
This game recommended that I upgrade my drivers for my gfx card, as the drivers I have are known to be unstable.
Now, I tried looking for these drivers on Toshibas as well as the NVIDIAs Web sites.
    No luck.

    My lappie information:

    [Information on PC]
    Model name Satellite Pro P100
    Part number PSPA4E-00U00KED
Version of the OS Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2

    Thanks in advance!

What to say the graphics drivers that are published on the Toshiba page are the latest graphic drivers available from Toshiba

If this driver is not compatible with your game, then the last resort might be a driver a 3rd party site.

These drivers may be used only at your own risk but using the 3rd GPU driver may cause overheating of the GPU chip.
