Satellite Pro P100-327: Audio DVD stutters

Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas.
Problem is that satellite Pro P100-327 won't play DVDs without stutter on audio. I tried playback preinstalled Windows Media Player, WinDVD and PowerDVD.

All have the same symptoms, so I think that the problem is actually with the audio.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this kind of problem?

See you soon
Martyn

Hello Martyn

It is not easy to give a precise answer, but I suspect that it may be because of some unnecessary background processes running. No doubt, something is running in the background and the activity of the CPU to the extreme. I had similar problem and it was because of the running application antivir (scan disk HARD and almost at 100% CPU activity).

Check this possibility.

    Hello

I just clean installed Win 7 Home Premium (64 bit) on a Satellite Pro P100 - 327 (PSPA4E) which was bought in November 2006. He was previously under XP. I never installed Vista, even if the laptop is Vista Capable badge.

I followed the recommended order of installation of the bios/driver/software Win 7 but I have now no sound at all. Everything I've tried so far has failed to fix.

The laptop has a Conexant based with harman kardon speakers audio solution. Win 7 installed the following driver, which brings the info.

High definition Audio Device (Microsoft Driver version 6.1.7601.17514 as of 11/19/2010) and status of the device: this device cannot start. (Code 10)

There is a second exclamation mark in device for a more Manager unknown device / uninstalled the device driver with an ID of ACPI\SMCB000 material (display code 28) but I don't know what is this device!

Anyone have any suggestions on a fix for my sound problem?

    Thank you!

ACPI\SMCB000 could be the infrared device.
Perhaps his need in order to use the remote control.

    I also looked for VEN_14F1 and DEV_5047
It seems to be the HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modm SmartCP of Conexant

  • Satellite Pro P100-327 no visual don't screen the bios startup

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem that I think has been there since I upgraded my Satellite Pro P100-327 XP to vista Business.
At the start, I have more no Visual on the screen until I see the windows logo. Computer works fine otherwise.

Now a year and a half later I want to load Windows 7 and I can't see the bios screen. F12, F2 or esc. do not help me even if the computer does not stall but I do not see on the screen. I have the latest version of the bios and the nvidia drivers as far as I know.

The only thing that I did not understand everything is the 'value added package' I think it's the small "HW" program, I downloaded the latest version and clicked on load HW in the control panel. Windows has asked if I wanted to go forward and I saw nothing else after that.

thaks a lot if anyone can help

    Hello

For me, this looks like a problem of monitor settings but I don't know m.
You are using an external monitor or have you changed the monitoring (from simple to double mode) mode?

In your case, I could connect an external monitor and see what happens. Have you noticed the same problem on external monitor?

In the worst case, there is something wrong with the internal display, but this should be verified by a technician of the laptop.

However, I have a Memory Stick Pro, and a Memory Stick Pro Duo in a Memory Stick Pro adapter, and the reader can't read one of them (they both count as Memory Stick Pro, which should be readable, right?)

Would I be able to read my Memory Stick Pro cards? Why I can't because it says that I should be able to? Should I install something first?

  • Satellite Pro P100-465 CD/DVD drive does not.

My Satellite Pro is new and I was very happy with it until I started one day find my CD/DVD drive not recognized.
Initially that the drawer does not open yet, it does now but only after a few presses the eject button. When I put a disk in it spins and the drawer light flashes briefly, but then nothing?
The CD/DVD drive is not displayed in Device Manager is?

    Can anyone help please?

    Hello

I'm not an expert so take what I say with a large pinch of salt and check again! I have a similar problem with my A100 except the works of CD tray very well but the machine will not play some DVD and won't play any CD several people have suggested that download ITunes affects your registry files and shortly after that the machine does not recognize the CD/DVD driver.

The error message that said something like: "i/o device error".

Have you tried to download a new driver? I have that have not yet done and came here to seek to verify this info myself.

Anyone else heard about Itunes affecting your laptop in anyway?

  • Satellite Pro P100-327: Power Saver utility

I have a Toshiba Tecra S1 and Toshiba Satellite M40X and two of them had a utility called 'Save energy' that I found very useful. Windows has its own power plant, but it cannot control things like the brightness of the screen and separates not plugged in battery modes modes as well.

However, the download page here does not list Power Saver for the P100 series and it was not bundled with it, is it not possible to get the energy savings for my new laptop? It would be really nice to be able to use it here. In addition, a gain of power for a different Toshiba laptop would be compatible? If yes which?

    Thank you

    Hello

The Toshiba Power Saver is installed on the model more Toshiba laptop. On some models the Toshiba Power Saver is not included. Therefore, the Windows power management manage energy consumption.

Obviously the Satellite P100 units with PSPA0E, PSPA3E and PSPA6E description are not delivered with the Toshiba Power Saver utility. Usually it is not recommended to use tools designed for other models of laptops.

Sorry, but I think you have to live with it.

  • Satellite Pro P100-327 screen color depth/quality problem

Hi guys, my first post! Had my Tosh for 3 years now. I now have a problem with the display. It seems that the color depth is really down or something... as I stumble on the 8-bit color depth. Everything seems strongly Posterization in the graphical sense.

I uninstalled the video drivers and reinstalled a new, former, a version of toshiba, a version of the nvidia driver and all have no effect on the problem. No joy!

I went through and checked all the settings of resolution and color depth, and trawled through the many pages of settings nvidia and played with all the reasonable parameters to find the problem. No change. All reset to how I found it.

I've been reading through the forums and not really found something specific. If I missed it, then I would a link here slapped on my face to show how incompetent I am! ;)

I will however try to disconnect the battery and the power for an hour and turn it on again later as this seems to be the standard solution or must try for everything. What do this exactly? Reset of the BIOS/CMOS etc?

    Thanks in advance!

You have the same problem if you connect the external monitor to your laptop?
Have you tried to test already?

  • Satellite Pro P100: Where can I find the software pre-installed?

Hi all, today I got my satellite pro p100-327. From what I read in the manual of the recovery cd provided is just a copy of windows? If I want to reinstall windows where all programs preinstalled on your laptop can be reinstalled from? Is it possible to make a bootdisk as such?
    Thanks for all the help.

I'll try to bring light on this case
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains an OEM version of the Windows XP operating system and all Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities are part of this CD.
Simply said, after using the Toshiba Recovery CD, you get the laptop with the factory settings.

If you only need drivers Toshiba or tools, you can create a CD of tools & utilities own.
This option is found in the Toshiba support--> Protect Fix & -> Create sub drivers & Tools CD

All the drivers are also placed on the page of the Toshiba driver

  • Satellite Pro P100-438 game stuttering

    Hello world

I bought a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR) with 2 GB of RAM in May 2007. I really took my time choosing the right laptop and the card game and the comments that I thought that it would be exactly what I wanted. As he had a numeric keypad, which is a must for me. I knew all the articles indicating that Vista would be detrimental to the performance, but I was willing to wait six months for driver issues and others to be decided. And a weaker performance in regards to a lower rate would not have been a problem.

Here again the stats of the platform:

    Core 2 Duo T5500 2 x 1.66 GHz - 2 GB RAM - 160 GB HD - DVD +/-RW DL - NVidia GeForce Go 7900 512 MB - USB 802.11abg 2.0/FireWire/Modem/LAN/WLAN / Bluetooth - DVI - 5 in 1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro/xD) - 17 "WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT - Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Li-Ion-battery - 3,20 kg

Now the problem is that all the 3D games (such as BioShock or the by now old Deus Ex - Invisible war) stutter. The performance seems to be all right, rates are usually fantastic even with the highest settings, but there are approximately every 3 seconds a stutter. Reduction of the graphics settings is not to solve the problem.

There seems to be a lot of people with similar problems with this all-3-second-stuttering around. Usually, I'm really good at 'fix' these problems with my computers. It usually includes surfing the forums, try many drivers video, drivers modded, installation of patches or just waiting for a solution from the manufacturer. ;)

Nothing has solved the problem so far. Here is what I tried:

-Different drivers: those most recent Tosiba March (which is pathetic!) to the most recent available at www.laptopvideo2go.com
-Different audio drivers for the Conexant Audio device high definition. They screw out of speakers and output, so I had to go back to drivers of Toshiba.
-Vista updates: all the patches that are recommended in various forums and any other vista automatically updated
-DirectX 9 .0c updates. Some said this could help because my card does not support DX10 and therefore should use DX9. Makes sense to me. DX10 seems to graphics engine so advanced being of the same Vista does not use it. Well, it was without success.
-BIOS update. I got stuttering with the preinstalled BIOS and now I use the newest one which is 4.00 for my laptop. Did not help.
-Disabling Vista Aero. Do not remove the stuttering, but gave a better framerate. But 100 fps or 105 fps was not the issue.

Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.

Now I can't think of another solution, and honestly I think that it is not my task to arrive at a solution. I spent about 1400 Euro on the laptop and I would like to have is a decent customer service and the problem resolved. And if Toshiba is not able to solve it they should at least be able to point the finger the cause of the problem. Right?

But now I still have some hope left. Maybe someone reading this found the solution to my problem and can give me a hint, because I'm always willing to try some suggestions. :)

    Can anyone help?

I think the problem is that the NVidia GeForce Go 7900 does not support the new DirectX10 but only the DirectX9.
The Vista operating system supports the new feature of DirectX10 and there might be a problem with the connection between Vista and Nvidia!

I noticed that this problem occurs only play games designed for Direct10X.

Like all the people here in the forum says, this strange game stuttering does not appear with XP installed.

    > Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.
I really put t see any other possibility to get rid of this problem install XP! As already mentioned it's nothing wrong with the laptop but with the Vista OS.

  • Satellite PRO P100 - 383 DVD UJ - 850 s Firmware update

    Hello

    My laptop is a Satellite PRO P100-383 with a DVD burner MAT * a UJ-850 s.

The current firmware of my DVD writer UJ-850 s MAST * one is 1.10 and I can't write some DVD-R, because they are not recognized as DVD-R, but as a CD - R. I think it's just the firmware of DVD writer that is too old.
Is it possible to update this with new firmware please? because I found something in the download section for my laptop. Just drivers and BIOS of motherboard, but nothing on the MAT * an update of firmware UJ-850 s.

Thank you very much for your answer.

    Friendly.

    Philip.

    Hi Philippe

In my opinion you shouldn't change something but use high quality blank DVD - R TDK or Verbatim.
Maybe you use some blank media cheap and without name.

Have you tested with known brands?

  • Satellite Pro P100 - cannot boot from external USB DVD

My internal DVD player on my Toshiba Satellite Pro P100 failed, and my windows is broken.
So I bought an external DVD drive to boot from, so I can recover the system using the product recovery DVD.

Now, he actually goes ahead and starts from the DVD. But once in the setup it gives me the message: "ERROR: file Setenv.ini D:\Setenv.ini or X:\Tools\Setenv.ini not found!

So I went ahead and checked if the file was... it was... but it is on Drive E:\ (probably because it's a USB device I'm starting from)

-J' did some research and found that I needed to run the command: X:\tools\recogui /FE: say the recovery my files were actually on drive E:-which has helped a little... until I got a new error where it was always looking for the *. TPA file on drive D: eventhough I have via recogui had specified otherwise.

Now what do I do to understand everything is to the recoveryprocedure on drive E: and not D:, as he seems to think?

As I am in the middle of a period of review, quick response would be GREATLY appreciated :)

    Bad new boyfriend!
Boot from external DVD USB drive is NOT possible!

You can start only from the inside, ODD, HARD, LAN disk and external USB FDD (floppy)

  • Satellite Pro P100: Where to find recovery CD/DVDs

We have a 2 year old child "Satellite PRO P100 (model No. PSPA4E-00N00KED) and it does not work very well and now I want to use the recovery CD, but miss me it.

Is it possible for anyone to help them with this issue with a link to an approved place or any suggestion?

You have the Toshiba HDD recovery utility? Just use this tool to do a clean installation of your system recovery.
Otherwise your local ASP (certified partner) could you help.

But before that, search recovery tools included with your portable computer software preinstalled.

  • Downgrade from Vista to XP on Satellite Pro P100

I have a client with a model of laptop Toshiba No. Satellite Pro P100-434.

He had a recurring problem, DVD playback that vibrates with the image and the sound is not always in line with the image. He referred twice to Toshiba and they told me that they had replaced the DVD drive. The fault was still there so he brought for me to watch.

I thought it is best to see if the Windows XP installation would cure the problem so installed an of my licenses. He tried for a few weeks and is now happy with our performance. Then I reinstalled Vista and checked for updated drivers. The problem is back as before.

Now, the customer wants to downgrade to Windows XP. I understand that it is possible, but have been unable to find out where I should apply for the XP product ID. My client feels terrible about the way it has so far been Treaty by Toshiba and who also believes he paid a Microsoft Windows license. He shouldn't have to pay for another. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Peter

I read your ad with a lot of attention and also hope that we can discus things.

At first, I must say that laptop must be Satellite P100-434 with PSPADE part number. If you want to check the DVD functionality test it with original recovery image. Achieve the clean OS install and test with the original DVD movie using pre-installed software. In my view, that it must be of WinDVD. Win DVD is used by Toshiba for a year, and this software works very well.

If there is a problem with the DVD drive, please clarify this with the authorized service partner. Please note: test the full functionality of DVD player.

Something about WXP: Toshiba supports Windows XP Home edition for this model of laptop and all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads. Before you start to install anything whatsoever from this page to the first a download? Instructionsa facilities? document and install all the stuff following this order of installations. It is very important.

Now something about the COMPUTER products and treatment of Toshiba: with the new notebook, you purchase a license for the operating system preinstalled. This does not mean that you have? specific? key and can activate all that you want. The alternative operating system to pay for the license. Each copy has own product ID. And don't forget, your customer has misunderstood something.

Treatment of customer is very interesting topic, but one thing I can say for sure: a lot of people hear things that they do not want to accept and is for the most part, the grounds for claims on a? bad treatmenta?. It is very important to clarify everything and avoid all the problems.

    Good luck!

  • I can't write CD on Satellite Pro P100-347

I was recently bought a Satellite Pro P100-347 with Windows XP MCE installed as a desktop computer (the store didn't inform the person who has bought a laptop that was not networked). We have purchased a full copy of Windows XP Pro and booted from the disk, formatted the hard drive and installed XP Pro instead of the ERM and then downloaded and installed all the drivers on the Toshiba site.

I had the "failure to obtain read handle" error starting but followed the recommendations on this site and removed the toshibarc.exe of the registry. Now, the only thing I still need is to get the CD of drivers, because even though I can play CDs and copy on their part, I can't write CD - if I put a blank CD in the drive and select the option to create the writable CD folder, I get an error that says ' D: / is not accessible. Incorrect function. "

I downloaded and installed the DVD-RAM drivers, but I can't find those specifically for the CD. Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeremy Jones

    Hello

In my opinion, you should check the properties of the disk and click the recording tab.
CD recording option on this drive must be marked.

I had a similar problem and this hidden option was responsible for registration on my laptop problems

  • Satellite Pro P100 - screen and sound problems after upgrade to Windows 7

    Hi all

I got my Satellite Pro P100 (model number is PSPAEE-00C006EN and the second digit of the serial number is '7') upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, and since then, some bugs seem to have had place - can someone help me on the following:

-L' screen DIMS increments, irrespective of the fact that I have saved my power settings to stay on FULL (battery or sector)

-No sound. Once or twice, the sound card worked and settings to say this works correctly (and you can see the movement of the graphic equalizer).
In terms of PC knowledge, I would be 5/10 (so not a dummy, but certainly not a pro! and we tried a lot of the more obvious things)

    Thank you all

    Hello

1.) if the screen dim option doesn't properly work, I recommend you to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package. This package controls these functions, the keys FN and others. Visit the Toshiba page for an update!

2.) did you check if the sound is muted if the equalizer work? In addition you can also try to update the audio driver might it work ;)
