Satellite Pro P300-1AY: Vista does not display computers XP network group

On my show w Satellite Pro P300-1AY with Vista, my old XP computer is not always displayed in the list of working groups.
On my old XP computer, I still see the new Vista computer

Can you tell me why the Vista computer not always displays the XP computer in the network group?

On the commputer of Vista, I traced a directory on the XP computer and it will connect even though the task force list does not show the XP computer under the list of networks

Hello!

Have you disabled the firewall on the XP computer?
Maybe a 3rd party security software is blocking it.

Check the registry and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\lanmanserver\parameters
In this case don't Scream no entry with the name of Hide.
If you have such an entry, delete it.

Good bye

    Hello world.

The media keys (play, pause, stop, etc) on my P300 have stopped working, I suppose, that a driver is down somewhere after a windows update or something?

Nobody knows what the drivers are called for the multimedia keys in order to reinstall them and see if that solves my problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I assume you mean on the Toshiba control buttons.
These buttons are controlled by software Toshiba controls using Win XP or value-added Package using Vista.

I put t know what OS you have, but according to the OS you use, you need to reinstall one of the applications mentioned.

  • Satellite Pro P300-1FQ - wifi does not work properly

Win Xp installed, the wireless guard stop and start.
I've read the threads and I need to make a Bios Update.
Click on the link to download it, but get a blank page.

Is there another place I can get it?

First of all, I would like to try other workarounds first before trying to update the BIOS.

I recommend updating the driver WLan first!
The laptop seems to be to use the Atheros WLan card.
You can download the driver Atheros here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

In addition, you must turn off the WLan to save energy.
This can be done in power management Win 7!

Then go to Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab
Here, you can check the different settings and change is necessary.

Last but not least the BIOS can be downloaded from page European driver Toshiba and download functions because I could download the latest version of the BIOS

  • Satellite Pro P300-1AY does not see wireless networks

I have a Satellite Pro P300-1AY and the unit does not see wireless networks.
I replaced my card and it does not solve the issue.

I set up another type of card and those who work well, it is only when I get an Intel 5100 (512AN_MMW) the unit does not see any network.

I use win XP. Any idea?

    Hello

You have the latest version of the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then you should first update the BIOS!

The latest version of the BIOS is on the European driver Toshiba page and it can be modified running Windows OS.
As far as I know, you must use 2.5 or later version BIOS.

    Check it!

  • Satellite Pro P300-1AY - screen and keyboard issues

    Satellite Pro P300-1AY

First and most importantly, I suspect that the backlight may have gone in my laptop screen.
If, for example, it's just something simple like a loose connection, this is an easy solution?

Otherwise, no idea how much it would cost for a replacement?

Secondly, I switch to a different keyboard layout.
Anyone know where I can find a Belgian AZERTY keyboard for this laptop?

    Thanks x

    > First of all and above all, I suspect that the backlight may have gone in my laptop screen.
    > If, for example, it's just something simple like a loose connection, this is an easy fix

Hmm. Maybe it's s inverter a FL. The FL inverter is a small part that controls the screen backlight
Generally disassembly laptop procedure is very delicate and looks like you've never disassembled the laptop so I would not recommend to do anything which could damage the other parts get in touch with a local ASP and ask for help.
Usually the FL inverter should not be expensive pieces but I have no idea on costs

    > Does anyone know where I can find a Belgian AZERTY keyboard for this laptop?
and once again all spare parts can be ordered from local ASP.

  • Updating the BIOS is dead the satellite Pro P300-1AY

    Hi all

found this forum and really hoping that he can help me!
I bought a satellite Pro P300-1AY two years ago, it cost me £900 nr so I thought it would be worthy of a purchase.

A year ago the USBs stopped working, I do it every working solution I could think of anything will do, finally gave up and learned to live without USBs!

However, a few weeks ago, the laptop at the start stop, I didn't get was the black screen. Probably a video problem I did all the memory check hard drive everything else, however, it was only an intermittent problem, I found if I he tilted on the side she would begin, another thing to live with!

But two days ago, I heard that if I've updated the BIOS, it could solve all my problems. so I went to the Toshiba site, found the BIOS updated and downloaded, but to halfway through the installation, the laptop froze and I couldn't t he put it off and had to take the battery out to turn it off!

And ve you may have guessed, he's now won t start. Even its worst, LED lights, and if I put a disc in the cd I can hear it whirring, but that s it.

Is - this irreparable? I ve heard of priming of the cd with the original BIOS with a combination of keys or I'm hoping against hope?
Ty for your time in reading :)

    Hello

    > Is it irretrievably? I ve heard of priming of the cd with the original BIOS with a combination of keys or I'm hoping against hope?

Well, usually the BIOS could once again be reflashed, but you would need a traditional version of the BIOS update.
This version is available for Toshiba FSA.

So you will need to get in touch with a local ASP technician that could reflash the Rom BIOS module.
Eventually, after this update the specifications would be stable.

    Good luck

    Hi Dr.Hossen,

Can you post a few details about this behavior?

Probably you have disabled the wireless network card. Simply press the FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card.

  • After reformatting XP, my computer does not display my Ethernet/network connection

I reformatted and reinstalled XP, service pack 2.  Device Manager does not display a network, nor the fact reckognize my ethernet connection.  I have a Linksys router.  To install it, I have to be on the internet.  I can't be on the internet without an ethernet connection.  How can I fix it?

    Hello

I feel when you go into Device Manager there is a yellow question mark. If you expand this section you may find an unknown device. This will be your network card. So basically, you need to know what brand and model of the network adapter is. Download the driver from the internet on another computer. Then install it on this one. The unknown device will then pass under the network connection in Device Manager.

So basically, you will need to download your ethernet card driver.

  • Vista does not connect to the network at startup folders

Unlike XP, Vista is not automatically mapping/connecting to my WiFi network at startup folders.  Every time I have start or restart, Vista does not connect to them, and I have to manually complete the task.  All folders that I want to connect to are marked "Reconnect at logon."  How to get Vista to connect to these folders when connecting as it is supposed to?

    Hi Peters4,

I have some questions I need to ask:

Once have connected you to the computer, you still see the disks with a red X on them or they have gone completely?
If they have the red x, connects by double-clicking on them?
If you are prompted for a password?
You map drives using an IP address instead of a name of sharing?
Are you using the built in Windows Vista wireless client or other software to connect to the wireless network?

You could try the following drive mapping and see if that fixes the problem:

    • Press Start.
    • Type CMD in the Search box and press ENTER.
    • Right click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator.

At the command prompt, use the following command:

net use x:-\\nom_ordinateur\nom_partage\ / persistent: Yes

(where x is the drive letter you want to assign.)

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Fn keys does not work with Windows Vista

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site ([http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT]).
BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32 contained in this file: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080404121735.zip]

After the installation of the operating system, I installed "Value package" ([http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-20080109135106.zip]) that contains the "utility Flash Cards". In my understanding, the installation of the "value added package" should allow the use of Fn keys.
This doesn't seem to be true or not true.

    Here's what's happening.

-Prior to installation of the 'value-added' package, all Fn keys did not work.
-After installation of the "value added package", if the process of TCrdMain.exe is running, all Fn keys do not work.
-If I remove the startup TCrdMain.exe and I restart the PC, only a few keys Fn function (Fn + ESC, Fn + F1).

There is no way (or I have not found a way) for all keys Fn works.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance,

    mme000

I am not sure, but it may be because of the SP1. I installed Vista Ultimate on A200 and stuff all listed (drivers, tools and utilities) from Toshiba support page.

Contains your Vista DVD facilities SP1 or you install on your own? If you install Vista Ultimate Edition (without SP1) and all the stuff on the Toshiba support site order Instructions of facilities.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - wireless adapter does not work - Vista

I recently had some problems with my laptop.
A couple of weeks, I put in a disc of OpenSuse.
It's not stable anything, but locked me out of my original Vista operating system.

I reinstallled Vista Home Basic, but there are a few problems.
Mainly, my wireless adapter does not work.

When I flip the button to turn it on nothing happens and it is not recognized in Windows.
I installed Atheros Driver, but still nothing happens, light is not yet.

    Any advice?

    Hello

First check the device-> network adapters area manager
You see the WLan card? Or the unknown device appears?

If there is an unknown device, then the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you tried to install a driver badly these two options are possible.

Remember that your wireless network card? Maybe it was a Realtek WLan card?

If it's a Realtek WLan card, try the WLan driver from the Realtek website and look for 802.11 g (RTL8187B) chip or you will simply check the page of the European driver Toshiba too the Realtek WLan driver also appeared on the Toshiba page

  • Re: Satellite Pro S500 - brightness adjustment does not work correctly

On my Satellite Pro S500 (preinstalled Windows 7 64-bit) change the brightness by pressing FN - F6 or FN + F7 does not work. The other NF - f... combinations seem to work correctly.

When I press FN - F6 (or F7) a control box to change the brightness to poster (as expected), but the level is still displayed as "1" independent of the current value (for example changed from Control Panel or with the eco utility) and it is not possible to change it with FN - F6 or F7. I just reinstalled vap and restarted the computer, but nothing has changed.

    Hi asdf.

I put t know what s wrong exactly but normally the FN keys are associated with value added Package, but you wrote that you already reinstalled

In my opinion, you should try a system restore to an earlier point. Maybe something messed up the registry, you can start System Restore in Windows Advanced Boot menu.

    Hello

I have a satellite Pro L20 running xp pro. We use at the school, connected to a projector to display on the screen for children to see.

the problem is that we use the Fn + F5 key on the laptop to scroll the screen option (two screens or not) but nothing happens, it seems that it does not meet our request. and the projector read no source found. Some days she turns on automatically, but when it doesn't. We are stuck, I tried to look into the display properties, but nothing here to try n force both screens light up. Help

    Hello

Also try switching to the external device settings Intel. You can find it under Advanced display settings. I also recommend you to reinstall the TOSHIBA utilities. I'm not 100% sure but it may be responsible for the function FN + F5.

Also check Toshiba HWSetup under the view tab. Activate LCD + analog RGB option.

Install the check and image recovery again if the situation is the same. If the problem persists contact your local dealer, explain the situation and ask for Exchange.
