Satellite Pro P300 (PSPC5E) - driver Webcam open fail on Windows 7

I installed the RC of Windows 7 64 bit on my Satellite Pro P300 PSPC5E and I have problems with the configuration of my webcam and microphone.

I tried to install the Wizard software for the camera, 64-bit (windows vista) to configure the webcam but I get an error message with "Webcam driver open fail. Restart camera or computer.' nor a camera photo or computer restart the job. I get the image in Skype, but I can't change the settings or so (dark) and the microphone is much quieter, so it was on windows XP, it is set to its maximum.

Is there a solution for this problem? I hope so :)

Hello

I think there is no solution for this problem at the moment, because you are using a Release Candidate of Windows 7 and at the moment there is no official driver for Windows 7.

Have you tried the driver of Windows Vista so that s what you can do. Alternative visit you the Toshiba us page (http://www.csd.toshiba.com) and search for driver of Windows 7 beta. Maybe it works.

Good luck! :)

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 with no OS installed. I managed to install windows XP and all the sounds/videos... drivers successfully, but after installing the driver for the webcam appears an error that says: Webcam driver open fail. Please restart camera or computer.

I rebooted the computer several times, but it still does not work. Please help me.

    Hello

I had the same problem a few weeks ago and I could solve the problem by updating the driver for the webcam on the Toshiba site.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

So, download the latest version, delete the old and reboot the laptop. Then install the new version.

I doubt that you were looking for updates for the Toshiba shows a driver for webcam.

  • Driver webcam open fail on Satellite A305-S6872

    My problem is the following

I have a laptop A305-S6872 Satellite with a built-in webcam, I had to restore it with the cd provided with the laptop and I reinstalled the assistant webcam software and thought it was but it keeps saying "driver open webcam fail. Please restart camera or computer.

Does anyone know how to fix this

    Hi mate

This message might appear because of some problems of compatibility between the software of the webcam and the 3rd party software such as Skype, Live messenger, etc.

In your case I recommend you remove the software for the webcam of the Setup again.
Then clean the OS using CCLeaner.
After that, you could reinstall the webcam software and must clear the webcam software in msconfig--> startup.

This prevents the software from loading automatically.

  • Satellite A300-1EG - driver Webcam open fail after Exchange of motherboard

    All greetings.

Recently took the laptop with the service center, it changed the motherboard. Before the service center the camera worked fine, but after taking early displays an error "Webcam driver open fail." Restart the computer or the camera. "Read the posts on this topic wise anywhere to update the BIOS, I renewed, but nothing helped.

This could be due to the fact that in the service Centre to have forgotten something to connect to the motherboard? Because in Device Manager do not see a web camera. I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 1EG PSAG4E number.

Thanks in advance for the answer. I would like to hasten to meet to go tomorrow to the center of service or not.

    Hi kuhar2007,

Maybe the authorized service provider forgot to plug in the power cord, but before to contact them again once you try to reinstall the driver for the webcam. You can get the latest version here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Normally the webcam should be in Device Manager after that. If this isn't the case, you must contact the ASP again. Explain the problem and they will try to help you. ;)

  • Satellite A300 PSAGCA - 02Y010 - error: driver Webcam open failed

    Problem:
Receive error whenever I try to use the camera for Toshiba support software: Webcam driver open failed. Restart the computer or the camera. Webcam does not work in Skype. It seems that it is a very common problem with the A300s series, but there is no clear solution there.

    Material
    Series: A300
    Model: PSAGCA-02Y010

    Software
Operating system: Windows 7 64 bit
Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba: 1.7.175.0123

    Details
I recently did a clean install of Windows 7, Windows Vista update. I've never used the web cam on Windows Vista, so I can't testify as to whether or not the web camera is workin properly. However, when I tried to use it with Skype, it did not work. I reinstalled the driver that I backed up before I installed the new operating system, but it did not work. The web cam does not appear at all in Device Manager - even when the value for show hidden devices. Trying new material added through the control panel fails to detect the webcam at all. I rebooted after each installation/repair of the driver.

    Measures taken

    Reinstalled drivers saved
I used the third-party software (Double Driver) to back up and reinstall the drivers for the webcam after I installed Windows 7. Double Driver claimed there was no device to install the driver. Manually, I copied the files in the folder using the camera and replaced existing ones. The files I copied were:
    casflr.cat
    oem34.inf
    Restore.ini
    UVCFTR_S.SYS

Pilots relocated from site Web from Toshiba
Vast Goolging turned only recommendations to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. I was unable to find the drivers for windows 7 64 bit, but I tried for my laptop model for Windows Vista 64 - bit - no luck. I tried to install software camera for Toshiba support, as far as I know, including the driver - it gives me the error described above.

I also tried to find a universal Windows 7 driver for the webcam - I was unable to find one.

Check the registry value is Correct
I tried also checked the registry value to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/ControlSet001/Enum/USB/SN001/ClassUID corresponds to the value in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\64bit\casflr.inf as and C:\Program Files (x 86) \Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\driver\32bit\casflr.inf recommended by some article is recommended.

Please, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I've exhausted all the options I can think.

    Probable solution:
I met a thread post who suggested a loose wire was responsible and that the camera could work when the cover is almost closed. I tried this and the camera suddenly appeared in the Device Manager. However, I still can't make it work with Camera Assistant Software or Skype.

Does this mean that webcam does not appear in Device Manager if the cover is open right?
In this case, it seems that there is no link between the webcam and the motherboard.
As far as I know as the internal cam is connected to the controller card USB mother s and possibly there is a bad connection.

Possible solution: I think that the technician needs to disassemble the laptop to check the connection :(

  • "driver webcam open fail." on Satellite A305-S6844

The full text of this error is "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart camera or computer. »

I spent a lot of time looking for online solutions. Many of the solutions proposed seem to be reasonable fixes for my problem, but they do not work. I downloaded the latest patches for Vista (64-bit) and I have the newest driver of the webcam. There are some strange circumstances related to my particular problem I've not seen mentioned elsewhere.

The webcam doesn't work out of the box.

On two occasions, inexplicable, the driver for the webcam was found by the wizard new hardware and installed. These two were held after that the computer had sat for a while. The webcam has become functional. On reboot, the error message returned.

I can't find the camera in the Device Manager. In fact, I find not all imaging devices either. Others who have had similar problems could apparently see something in this category, often an unknown device.

I downloaded a program called "Driver Detective" and he ran. Surprisingly, he was able to find the driver for the "webcam Chicony USB 2.0". The program argued that the pilot was perfectly aware. He registered the camera under the category 'USB device unplugged', in the same category as my ipod.

If I need to provide any other information, I can quickly do.

    Thanks for the research!

Have you tired uninstallation and reinstallation of the camera in Device Manager? To do this, and then restart your computer, it will automatically detect and reinstall the drivers for the camera.

I suspect that your camera may be at fault but you mentioned previously it installs sometimes while you use the computer. If uninstalling and reinstalling do not work, you may need to take it to a repair centre.

    Hello

What operating system do you use? Vista? What model of laptop is it?
If Yes please install the SP1, because it contains a Microsoft patch that solves the problem of the webcam.
I had a similar problem and the SP1 was the key.

It is also recommended to remove the old driver/webcam software download a webcam driver from the European driver Toshiba page and reinstall.

There could be a hardware problem that just happened to come while he was on the system.

Disable Legacy Support just in case he has a problem - don't forget to put back so no joy. Look to see

Maybe an upgrade InPlace or even a reinstall of Windows would be useful.

You can try an In-Place Upgrade (hopefully save programs and data) or a repair installation (if all goes well
