It s dependent not portable, it s according to the reader that supports double layer DVD or not! ;)

To check the properties of your drive, for example with Nero. There you can see what are the types of discs, you can use in this drive.

  • Satellite Pro U200 - sound to the headset only

I have a Satellite Pro U200 and I install a Vista. I installed the audio driver, but there is no sound on the speaker just with headphones.

Maybe the little switch that is placed in the headphone jack doesn't work properly.
This option controls the output between the headphones and speakers.
Try to plug and unplug the headset several times. Maybe it works then.

  • The update of the BIOS for Satellite Pro M70 does support TPM?

    Hello

There was an update of the bios that is specially designed for Vista... = bios-vista - 510win.zip on the Toshiba site...

Although my Satellite Pro M70-113 did not support the default TPM module (BIOS verson 1.1, I always have this), is it possible that this update includes the TPM secure to enable bitlocker on vista?

Can someone check and confirm please... :)

And secondly, is configuration BIOS update for Windows utility saves the current state of the BIOS in some external as backup media, while if it happens with the process of update... the previous version can be restored in return?

And a BIOS may be downgraded?

    Thank you.

    Hello

(1.) I m not 100% sure but I think the new BIOS for the M70 does not support the TPM secure. I read somewhere that all BIOS versions that support TPM on Toshiba laptops cannot be updated by a common user, but the user must contact the authorized Toshiba service provider for these updates.
That's why I think that Toshiba would not any BIOPS version by download issue if this BIOS would support the TPM.

2.) now something about the second question:
The new BIOS version replaces the old BIOS and BIOS States and to my knowledge it of not possible to save the settings for a backup more later.
Generally, you must be careful with any update of the BIOS. Bad BIOS or bad update procedure may damage the jury!

    Hello

What exactly do you mean? Is the drive does not support content or there is problem if you want to burn data on DVD-R media?

Can you please explain this a little more carefully?

Just FYI: I use the empty media TDK almost 5 years and I can say that TDK is very good for this kind of things.

  • Satellite Pro L500 does not burn DVD

I have TWO laptops Satellite Pro L500 with a TSSTCorp TS-L633C DVD - RW. BOTH have the same problem - burn a DVD fails during the finalization process, regardless of how fast you burn at.

    Burn the CD works fine.

Burn fine blank DVDs on a laptop Satellite L500D using the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20N drive, as well as on an another Satellite Pro L500 which is to use a Pioneer drive.

Two laptop computers with problems are ongoing running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, but nothing else than the software that came with the laptop. Both are new straight out of the box. Driver is the current version driver, from what I can find.

Any suggestions? When a laptop has shown problems, I thought that maybe it's the reader, but now 2 notebooks of totally different stores showing exactly the same problem?

    Thank you.

Have you tried burning programs such as Nero, Ashampoo Burning Studio? Check this box and we post

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300D - firmware for the DVD player?

    Hello

I recently got a nice new Satellite Pro A300D of my work and was just my typical thing to go through the update of their efforts. However, when you try to update the firmware of the DVD drive for my particular model (PSAK9E-00C003EN), I realized that the firmware he suggested was wrong. After watching on my pc, I discovered that my drive is Pioneer DVD - RW DVRTD08A (1.50), but I can't find information anywhere on the net about the updates of the firmware (or the existence of this drive at all!). Could someone point me in the direction of some information and firmware more recent if it exists?

Thanks for any info that someone has!

    Willybob

Satellite Pro A300D was equipped of various CD/DVD players.
On the Toshiba driver page, you can find an update of the firmware that came out for a CD/DVD drive that was not installed in your laptop and so you can not install this update.

If you are unable to find an update of the firmware of your CD/DVD drive, then an update doesn't exist and is not necessary!

  • Satellite P100-429 does support the 5-in-1 card reader?

IM wanting to buy a new laptop computer and is came through the "Toshiba Satellite P100-429'." It's the portable perfect! However, when I searched the internet for a detailed technical specification, I found that on pixmania.co.uk he states that there is no memory card reader:

    http://www.Pixmania.co.UK/UK/UK/462038/art/Toshiba/Satellite-P100-429.html

Still other sites, he says that there is a 5-in-1 including Toshiba card reader themselves. It is therefore possible to have the same laptop model but with a different specification? or is it a typo in the site of pixmania? Thank you

    > is it possible to have the same laptop model but with a different technique
Of course, many laptops in the same series were delivered with different hardware specifications it is nothing unusual.

For example, the dvi video port, express card slot or the married media card slot are available on some models.
I would trust the Web from Toshiba site and this model should support housing ExpressCard and a PCMCIA Type II slot.
The slot SD, Compact Flash Card slot card and smart card reader are not available on this model

  • Satellite Pro M70, Possible replace the DVD - RW drive?

I thought that in the future come lightscribe Slim DVD - RW. Is it possible to remove the build - in the disc that came with the computer, with a slim-line DVD - RW. I think the connection, it is standard on all readers optical slim for laptops, or is it IDE/SATA or something like that?

    Hi whc

Physically, it is possible to remove all parts of the laptop. On your device should not be a problem at all. The problem is the compatibility of the player.

Each car will not work (can not recognized correctly) on each laptop Toshiba and, in my opinion, you should check the compatibility of the player by the service partner before buying one of them. Your unit is a mobile most recent with fantastic super multi DL drive. As James said, wait and you'll see if Toshiba will be those and also compatible drivers for your device.

  • Satellite Pro U200-10I: DVD UJ-850 s player not working - corrupt/lack of pilot

    Hello

I just bought my new laptop Satellite Pro U200-10I. The DVD doesn't seem to work at all. It is said, Mat * a s DVD UJ-850 drive not working - corrupt/lack of driver. Help, please.

    Appreciate your response. Thank you!

    BAHI

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive using the Microsoft diver who is included in the Windows operating system.
According to this page or some registry keys are corrupt windows clean driver failures.

I think that you must first access the Device Manager and check if the CD/DVD drive is displayed correctly.
If you do not see a yellow exclamation I recommend to remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot the laptop.

After restarting again the OS should recognize the new device (CD/DVD drive) and should implement the drivers again.
Finally start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    and restart the device.

    Good luck

  • How to disassemble the Satellite Pro U200

    Hello

Lately, I have come to the need of the back opening of Toshiba Satellite Pro U200, you know the place where RAM and all the other stuff is stored.

I have my tired to do it, but I could not open, so I was afraid to break something.

Any of you know if it is possible to open the back of the laptop?

If possible, it would be possible to close it later? :]]

What you want to change on the laptop? The RAM?

As far as I know the locations of memory are placed under the keyboard. Therefore, you must remove the keyboard stand and keyboard.
It's a little tricky and if you n t have experience with this that you should ask a technician for laptop help.

I use a Kensington Valuoptical USB mouse. I tried the alternative kensington mouse and had the same problem. Can someone tell how to fix this?

    Hi Jeremy

Unfortunately I don't have a solution to your problem, but it can also be a technical limitation. I'm also interesting to buy this docking station and I would like to know if there is the same problem with memory external HDD or USB sticks.

  • CPU in Satellite Pro U200 temperatures are too high

    Hello

I'm a little confused / concerned about the temperature of my CPU (Intel T7200) in my Satellite Pro U200-199. The confusing thing is that the case temperature is generally higher than that of the junctions of the two nuclei, which is the opposite of how it should be.

    Everyone knows this?

As well, the case temperature is higher at seems reasonable, even in basic use. Basic use of office applications takes the temperature to 49 c, and then everything above that (opening an application for example) increases the temperature has high degrees of the years 50 or 60. Under a larger load, temperature (T-box) goes up to 65 C.

One of the consequences is that the fan is on most of the time.

I would like to know if there is a problem with the measurement of the temperature T-box is measured correctly, or if the processor overheats. If the measure is a fault, then do nothing about this? Like changing the BIOS?

I should mention that the computer is only a week and has a BIOS update.

Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.

    David

    Hello

The temperature of 50-60 degrees is not unusual. But I wonder how you measure this temperature or what tools or utilities did you use?

Usually the CPU is not only responsible for the temperature inside the laptop.
The graphics card and HARD drive also produce heat which increases the temperature of the laptop.

Anyway, the computer supports protection against overheating. This protects the laptop and parts from overheating.
If the temperature reaches a critical threshold the laptop would be automatically stops down
but it seems that the laptop works properly so in my opinion that you should not be worried. ;)
