Satellite S2410-504: keys of the keyboard have fallen
I recently encountered a problem where 2 of the keys on my keyboard have fallen and were irreparable and so I find myself with 2 keys "spongey" who are still working fine, but are obviously without key.
I was told that I can buy a replacement online keyboard (E - Bay, ideally), but I have no idea what model specific n ° I'm looking. Can someone help with the correct details and also as a guide what price I have to pay. And further suggestions other than E - Bay for its source.
Thanks for your help
If the key is broken and the keys do not remain in place, so in my opinion, so there is no other solution apart from the replacement of keyboard.
Of course, it of possible to order the keyboard online.
On the Toshiba page, you will find a site Options and accessories:
HTTP://EU.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/JSP/OPTIONSANDACCESSORIESHOME.DO?SERVICE=EU&ID=ONLINE _ SHOP
Here I found only the Satellite S2410-S403 but I guess that there is not much difference between these units.
Under options based on the desktop, you will find keyboards supported.
On this path, I also want to say that all the pieces that are supported and compatible, you can order from the Toshiba service partner in your country
I got my laptop about a week now. I liked it carefully, the brilliant keyboard did irritate me at first, but... But to my surprise... this morning the left low corner command button was loose... it seems that one of the "connectors" broke up.
Of course, I know what to say, I broke it, and it's probably true, because I type on my computer and so to put pressure on it... BUT, I have a respect for computers, I don't hit my computer and I have typing skills...
I called a local computer company and they said that I need to replace the entire keyboard... because Toshiba will probably not fix it under warranty because they will say I did damage... I had a toshiba A100 for 2 years, the keyboard still works fine...
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions or comments on this topic?
Thank you very much.
Well... sad story, but the fact is that the key on the keyboard is broken and the keyboard needs to be replaced.
I don't know why it broke... maybe you used really too much pressure while typing... who knows. ?:|
I have two Toshiba laptops different... one is 5 years old and the other is about 2 years old and I never noticed any problem keyboard or buttons...
So in my opinion, you had a bad luck... that's all.
Good luck with your keyboard replacement...
As I can spread out or whether the keyboard of the laptop is a failure because some keys do not work.
As far as I know in case some keys on the keyboard don't work not the whole keyboard needs to be replaced.
Can you do it alone?
I'm a complete noob to this, but hope someone can help out me. I have a Toshiba Satellite, but I don't know which model - it says on the back that is s2410-504. in any case, I've had it for about 3 years and I think the battery is kaput, as it only stays on for about 15 minutes so disconnected from the sector, even when fully charged.
The battery life has always been a bit short. What is the best battery I can get for my laptop and how much time it will last on energy saving option?
The best battery for your laptop will be that which corresponds to the specification of Toshiba. Please check the following URL: -.
Please check the part number on the back of your current battery for good compatibility.
I have a problem with my * hot key * doesn't work does not, as well as a few others like the * key of z and *-* / *? * * | *
In order to use them, I have to use the keyboard to screen on which is rather annoying. My sliders on the keyboard keys do not work either, I have to use the sliders on the numeric keypad. I have the BIOS updated and the correct keyboard language.
Is there anything else I can do to remedy this?
A new keyboard would still fix this problem?
I put t know how old your laptop is but if the warranty is still valid contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and let them study this and replace the keyboard.
What you can do as the ultimate test is to install the original recovery image and test the functionality with the factory settings. If the problem persists next step should be the replacement of keyboard.

I use the on-screen keyboard. Unit 6 months.
Could something be turned on/off? Virus? or the use of the guarantee?
Any ideas appreciated
Well, it can happen that some keys stop working after several months and you can't do anything.
You must contact the authorized service provider for a new keyboard because some individual keys can be exchanged, only the entire keyboard.
Your laptop is only 6 months old, and then the repair is covered under warranty. :)
On the Toshiba page, you can find a list of ASP.
Hi, I recently "lost" 2 keys on the keyboard (broken) and I can't put them on again once.
When I look at the sites of spare parts & supplier, this model is not found at all... what type of satellite that I have to choose or which type of keyboard I have to replace my borken one
first success on ebay was not hard to find.
Very strange problem with our Toshiba Satellite P205.
Hit ANY key on the keyboard opens the default browser. For example, type a ten letter word ten browser windows opens. We have replaced the keyboard but the problem persists. Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).
Works very well without any problem using an external keyboard.
It came with Vista, but we installed XP with the same results. Also tried upgrading the Bios.
* Water was spilled on this computer laptop previously.*
* It is out of EMCO.*
Is there maybe a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
Anyone has any ideas on this one?
There is a 'hard' switch just above the keyboard that opens the browser. I guess the connectors or printed circuits are corroded or damaged somehow so that any input on the keyboard also triggers this hard switch.
Possibly a hack software to disable or block the button "Open browser" would solve the problem. How to turn off or reassign these hard buttons?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
> Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).
Looks like you need to replace the motherboard if you do not want to use the computer's internal keyboard correctly
You said that the water was reversed on this laptop previously, I think that's the reason why this keyboard problem happened
> Is it may be a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
It s unclear not for me if something like this is not possible, but in my opinion has nothing to do with the software (register), but with the hardware problem caused by spilled water
You could try to reinstall the clean Windows operating system in order to check if this will help you
But if the new facility doesn't help then you should use the external keyboard because I doubt a replacement of the motherboard would be an option due to high costs.
Hi, I dropped my iphone on my laptop (of less than 30cm, I might add) and in some way he hit the right CTRL key and the key on the keyboard is popped! a whole little plastic broke from under the key (the mount under the white key is fine, just the black key is damaged)
I was basically wondering. Is there anywhere you can get replacement keys for this laptop?
Theoretically, you can try to find the defective keyboard, remove the button even CAP and set up on your laptop keyboard.
To be honest I don t think you can buy these caps key as unique pieces.
Check ebay. Maybe you can find defective or used the keyboard for a few euros.
The warranty coverage repair for keyboard on the laptop
If it s a hardware fault and not your mistake the keys on the keyboard are also covered by the warranty, why not?
But 100% answer that you can get from a service provider. Guys you can tell if the repair is free or not. That s is not easy to tell if a technician should take a look on your laptop.
a key on my keyboard has extracted out.
I knew nothing was broken.
Does anyone know how to reinsert the key on the keyboard?
Is there guidance on the internet?
Or did someone knows how much cost a repair would be?
It would take to leave my computer to the support office longer? Cannot work / live without my cell phone!
Hi and thanks,
Do you mean the PAC?
The key caps are removable and it of very simple to remove or return on the keyboard.
Push the CAP key to set the CAP over the keyboard.
All that s
Original title: Touch Pad issue
Every time I turn on the computer touchpad does not work (in the form of connection), first I press any key on the keyboard once I press a button and then press the mouse will start to work, I don't know what exactly is the problem... I reinstalled the drivers, checked in services but still the same. Can someone help me on this.
Changes were made on the computer before the show?
Run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check if that helps.
I suggest you to return the item and check if it helps:

I am trying to find a screen for the following
Satellite S2410-504, PS241E-5G7U9-FR part number
I have spent hours searching on google and ebay and so far have failed to find one. I don't yet know what type of connection, I need so I could try a different screen in there.
Basically the screen on my laptop is dead and sometimes turns very very weakly in a dark brown color but above all does not. I was told it's light... ?
Also to research here, it seems that this model is an edition 'special' toshiba made that did not help matters.
(1) do I get a new full screen to solve?
(2) where can I get a screen of?
Who knows what the problem could be show itself or even FL inverter?
In my opinion you shouldn't hide it only if you have no experience. The part can be ordered by the partner in your country or check if some laptop parts offering can order one for you.
I found out that display for Satellite 2410 serial number P000347380 but please check again before ordering one.
Key on the keyboard does not work in firefox box when you type in the web site, but it works everywhere else?
Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.
Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.
If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.
Can be caused by an add-on to the AVG.
When find you what is causing that, please let us know. It might help others who have this problem.
Some of my letters on the keyboard appear to be stuck, especially 9-o - t and a space. So I have to press more strong 3 or 4 times. Is that what I can do about it? I don't know how to check the keyboard and get him out.
You n t need to remove the keyboard. You can only remove the keys.
Try to carefully remove the keys on the keyboard. Try to clean the space under the keys and set the keys even once.
