Satellite T130 keeps restarting instead of close

Just bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite T130 used pre-installed with Windows 7, and as we got him, he had a problem down.

When I press Shut Down, it stops ok, all the lights go out as if it's just off and then a few seconds later, it starts again.
I can't seem to find the problem here, sometimes it restarts perfectly in windows and other times it turns on and freezes without turning on the screen etc..

I tried to update the BIOS, reinstall windows on a second partition, even reinstall all the drivers on the toshiba site.

It should also be noted that when I put the system to sleep, he puts the PC to sleep and then a few seconds later, it restarts, raise the good old "an error has occurred, you want to start saving mode, start windows normally" etc.
When you enter into hibernation mode, it hibernates it just find and then light up again...

I read many forums for support and none of the solutions worked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Please disable it in the BIOS!

In addition, go to the device-> LAN Manager card-> properties-> Advanced tab and disable options wake-up too.

Restart the device and check again!

If you have important data, you can extract it using Windows live cd. Get it and boot from it and move important data on USB.

Start your laptop and enter the settings of the BIOS (F2). Set to its default value. Restart your computer, and press F8 to access the advanced boot menu.
To start the laptop in safe mode and let us know if it works, try it please.

  • Satellite T130 is no longer able to restart (reboot)

After a reboot the white of the screen the fan made noisy becames for a short time and that's it.
To start it again, it is necessary to turn it on. It starts normally.

Reboots tried Win7, Linux Fedora, Bios Setup (when it is saved), ctrl-alt-del before start of operating system (Start menu). The result was always as shown.

    Thank you for any suspicion.

I think it's hardware related issue, given that this problem seems to appear by using all the different systems (windows, linux)

But have you ever tried the new installation of the OS? If this isn't it!

Return to the idea where a malfunction of the equipment:
I think first the RAM modules should be tested and verified. Given that the RAM modules could cause such or similar issues, I think it's a good idea to check this part.
The best would be the use of nine tested modules, though.

But if the motherboard is affected, the new modules would be not useful much :(

  • Satellite M40 - 277 keeps restarting - button / stop?

I have the problem that the (per hour to enter acient) laptop Satellite M40 277 of mine keeps restarting unpredictibally. Initially I have if it was a problem of overheating, so I used SpeedFan and CPU-Burn a test, but the computer does not restart until the airflow to the bottom is fine (I consider that the entry of the fan on the bottom a design error, but it's something else). Now, if the air flow is a bit stuffy, the laptop stops at about 83 and then it will have difficulty to challenge. Ok.

However when the laptop is about 63C it restarts sometimes and I feel, it can be a power button is stuck. I have XP installation so that it will always ask before you actually stop, and when I pick up the phone on the side (the plastic box where the power button is integrated in waiting) I often question of the judgment. NP, just click away. But I also feel that the button can get stuck and then the system turns off after 5 seconds of 'holding company' the power button.

So I just tried to get a quick glance and we should normally be able to remove the keyboard, but this M40 is a challenge. Even after that the keyboard is free, I don't see the actual power button.

Is there anyway to loook under high elegant green rim the power button? How to open this thing up?

    Tom

    Hello

As far as I know this little switch cover is fixed by 6 latches and connected with small flat cable to the motherboard. It just seems but if you don't know how to remove it you can damage these small latches and later you won't be able to fix the new.

Anyway, if you think that this power button / troubled maybe just make the switch cover replacement may solve the problem.
What say about it? Try to get the spare part and ask if anyone can exchange it for you.
Of course, the best thing is to ask for professional help, but it will cool somewhat.

Another way, do a risk and try to replace one.
Let me know what you think of this.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L655-1E3 keeps restarting in an infinite loop

    Hello

It seems that I have installed an update of the BIOS not adapted to my Satellite L655 1E3. Now my laptop is never reach the Windows startup and keeps restarting in all about 3 seconds after the Toshiba screen display.

What I tried to do is reinstall my Windows with the Windows CD: does not not when starting on the CD/DVD

I still have access to my data located in the hard drive when I took it out of the laptop and makes a transfer on the other hard drive.

Can you please help me and suggest me some ideas to do?

    > It seems that I have installed an update of the BIOS not adapted to my Satellite L655 1E3.

I m wondering how could I know if you would try to update the BIOS to the version that is not compatible, the BIOS update procedure would be interrupted and it is not possible to Flash the ROM module
That is why I think this might be the case.

However, you said that you see the Toshiba start screen.
Question: are you able to access the BIOS of the F2 keys?

In the case where this is possible, the value of the default BIOS and try to start the machine again.
Where this is not possible, remove the AC adapter and the battery.
Press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec. Then reconnect both sides and try to turn on the unit.

Your comments and good luck would be appreciated

  • My Satellite L350 keeps disconnecting and then restart.

Satellite L350 keeps disconnecting and then restart.
The fan is free from dust. I have reinstalled Windows
There is a new battery for 1 year

If the laptop is turned off, the battery can be charged. The laptop runs normally on the battery.
As soon as the power adapter is connected, the computer turns off.
When I use the computer without a battery but with the AC adapter, the computer shuts down. Test with a different AC adapter, the computer turns off.

If the cable between the motherboard and the CC is originally the problem whether it is unlikely?

Someone has an idea to help me with this problem?

    > From the moment when the AC adapter is connected, the computer turns off.
There must be some kind of electronic problem of power on the motherboard.
I put t think that the AC adapter is affected since you have already tested another (good job?) Power adapter.
I think in case of malfunction of the motherboard, the laptop fix can be a costly affair
The motherboard is one of the expensive parts for laptop and I think that that's not worth buying a new part for this old model of laptop.

  • Close / sleep on vista computer functions to restart instead

When I try to select "shut down," the computer still restarts instead, but then on the second try, it always stops. • Satellite T130-30 - is slow inrecdible

I just got a new Toshiba Satellite T130-30 because that my last laptop was able to get better after a heavy virusattack.

Brand new from the store I had problems at first. Windows wouldn't install and kept restarting. Fortunately, this one went. Now, the major problem is that the computer is incredible slow, even more than my previous computer of old virusinfected. I use the processorspeedometer and its almost always 100% even if I don't use programs. I have just installed anything yet, mostly because its so slow and the few programs I have (like internet or mediaplayer) keep crashing all the time. It can't be like that, so far, this is the worst computer I've ever had.

And I'm not very technical so its really hard to solve this problem. Here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Please answer quickly because I'm close to throw this model against the wall. Extremely annoying that it is so slow and lags and stops all the time. desperate CIHI people... :)

    SM

    Hi martin_henna,

I can t imagine that your Satellite T130 is so slow. I bought the same laptop to my girlfriend and she is very happy with this laptop. She wanted a small notebook, but it should be fast. In my opinion, the Satellite T130 is the best choice for this.

In any case, I think that there is something wrong with the configuration of your software. Do you have an error message during the installation of recovery?

In your case I would try reinstalling Windows again. Maybe something messed with the registry or Windows files. You can solve if you reinstall Windows. Therefore, you can choose the option of HARD drive recovery.
You know about it? If this isn't the case, please consult your user manual!

  • Satellite T130 - 10G Touchpad screen pointer gets stuck in random patterns

Satellite T130 - 10G Touchpad screen pointer gets stuck in random patterns and laptop computer must be restarted to restore functionality
The center of the causes of "touchpad button" toggle switch by pressing the touchpad pointer to enter a random State like two fingers to zoom.

Sometimes, he'll be back to normal, but most of the time the computer should be put to sleep or restarted to restore functionality.

    a. I tried turn off all touch pad feature one item at a time and all, he still has some weird random State.
(Did not try the impossible combination need $ to be interested but went to the 90% level)

    b. I tried disable the touch pad buttons offending and only using the mode tap the buttons and the problem still persist.

    c. Finally, tried bending the entire keyboard instead of pressing the buttons and it has also created the problem.

This leads me to believe either the power key or flexion of the entire keyboard is originally is

    a. flexion of the touch pad causing the driver getting into a crazy State or require a recalibration.

    b. electrical connections causing the driver enter a crazy State or require a recalibration of bending.

Note: I have reinstall the latest version of the driver.
Also: American Toshiba support site that this problem exists in the notebooks of May.

Also: The touchpad is too sensitive, which makes it very unusable!

Have you tried to install the operating system and check the functionality of the touchpad with the factory settings?
Recovery image contains tested the touchpad and right and I don't think that helps the driver installation.

  • Satellite T130 - how to restore Windows 7?

I bought a new Satellite T130 three days ago. It was pre-installed with Windows 7 Professional, but reckless, I enabled iPv6 and the problem started.

The machine asked to restart the computer, but he was not able to start and instead, ask to have a repair process or start normally. The repair process failed, although I repeated several times and when trying to choose the normal startup option, it is to these two options. Then I decide to use my recovery disk supplied with the machine. He did well and the computer worked again, but it turned out to be a Windows XP. I don't dislike XP, but I really want to go back to Windows 7.

How can I do? I have a new Windows 7?

    Please, help me...

    Hey,.

It seems you did misunderstand something
The disc that you used to reinstall Windows is a downgrade to Windows XP disc and has nothing to do with Windows 7!

Windows 7 recovery disk is not delivered with the laptop and you must create this disk yourself using of preinstalled creative recovery disk Toshiba! But the problem is now, you can t it more because you have installed XP and there is no recovery disk creator and available files.

Your only option is to order a drive recovery Toshiba here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Last but not least, I would say that you should first read the user manual before do you something wrong ;)
