Satellite U305-S7432 freezes and does not sometimes using Win XP

Hello.

I have a portable Satellite U305-S7432.
Initially, it came with Vista, but I reformatted with XP Pro. I have installed all updates up to service pack 3.

My problem is that sometimes when I try to restart the computer, simply, it freezes and does not meet any entry. I noticed that this happens if I close and then open the cover (which means that the computer goes mode sleep entry and returns).

Please note that the splash screen works perfectly well and the computer wakes from sleep fine but then when I try to restart, the computer will simply spend time instead of restart.

If it goes into sleep mode, reboot takes place as planned.

I installed all the drivers and there is no question mark in Device Manager. I've updated the latest chipset from Intel (for the mobile 965) driver as well. Finally, I also tried to add /forceresetreg my Boot.ini file (as suggested: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822624) but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

It is a series of laptop computers Toshiba us and you should check the Toshiba driver page for available drivers:
http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

If you will not find XP drivers for this page, then you can try to install unique drivers for Sat U300 since European Toshiba page but I not quite sure if these drivers XP will work on you Sat U305 Mr. but it s worth a try!

Good luck

  • Satellite A65 freezes and does not answer after adding RAM

    Gents,

My laptop Satellite A-65 has been upgraded to 512 MB RAM 1024 RAM. He acknowledged additional without any problem memory (as she should be determined according to the manual).

But unfortunately after 1 day it started suddenly stops, images on the screen freezes, laptop does not at all - only reset (press and hold the power button / stop) can help. laptop computer sometimes is able to work 2-3 hours, but still stops.

Cover of place of memory is rather hot, fan very often work uninterruptibly. so I can't decide if the problem is in the new map memory or not enough cooling or maybe by changing the version of BIOS (or BIOS setttings) and could be memory saturates and erases itself properly (last note was found on the forumes).

Experts, to help find the exact reason especcially if you had the same problem.

    Hello

I m not an expert, but I recommend you remove the new memory module and run the laptop only with the standard memory module.
If the laptop does not cling and will not freeze then it s a very clear case for me.

Either the second module is not compatible or defective.
In my opinion, you need to use brand modules such as Kingston for example. The quality is much better as a module without a name.

All the ideas it might be.

    Hello

If the BIOS page does not appear, then it s a serious question.
Seems that the motherboard is dead.

In my opinion, a technician should check this section first, and perhaps you will need a new

  • My iPad2 keeps freezing and does not respond to the touch screen taps or swipes.

My iPad2 (Version 9.2.1) keeps freezing when I'm online.  It does not meet my touch/slide.  The storage capacity is 12.6 GB, and I have 2.0 GB available. I tried to l ' down and restart, but that doesn't seem to help. This only seems to happen only when I'm online (as you try to read a recipe online, or navigate through a Web site).

  • Toshiba 40L5450EA freezes and does not respond to remote control

First of all, I want to tell you that I have a very good experience with the Toshiba products.

But unfortunately I just bought the new toshiba android TV Toshiba Egypt 40L5450EA (El Araby Group) last week and I am facing a very stupid problem that when I turn on my TV, it works but freezes and there is no response from the remote control and Panel and I can not turn off again.

Instead, I have to unplug the power supply cord and return again and so that it works correctly.

    Is this normal and acceptable?
Thanks in advance, but I need a urgent clarification

As already mentioned in the monograph: this model is designed for the Middle East market as it works with Android (there is no EU with this platform models).

  • My cursor freezes and does not respond to mouse movements. How can I fix it?

I have Windows XP and it happens when I'm on the internet.

    Hi SFc75j,

Run Internet Explorer in no mode of modules and check to see if Add-ons are causing this issue.

    Step 1:

Follow the steps in method 4 from the link below.

    How to optimize Internet Explorer

Step 2: If the problem does not happen, the problem is caused by one of the Add-ons that typically load with Internet Explorer.

To automatically disable the modules, run the Internet Explorer add-on difficulty from the link given above.

    Kind regards

  • Portege R500 - freezes and does not

    Hello!

a few minutes ago my laptop fixed, that he was not answering anything, even a movement of the mouse and I could hear the sound strange from the lower left as something began to turn and then suddenly stopping with the 'yyyyk' sound and the CD/DVD drive is located on the right side so it was that for sure , but the sound was somewhat similar.

After a minute or so of spinning and stop the screen went black, then he turned blue with a text very quickly so that I could read only that Windows found a problem the laptop rebooted and then flashed blue screen again, after that, it went black and I could choose only to repair using the Windows cd (but I left it at home so I could not) or start Windows normally, so I started it normally, and it seems to be great so far.

The strange sound of spinning, I heard only once before but the laptop was just a bit slow but do not freeze or restart has occurred and it happened months ago so I thought it's nothing serious. The laptop is 6 months old, warranty, with the original software and I treat it gently (never fallen etc.). Nearest authorized is way far from my place and I can't be left without the computer right now (review session).

What can I do to check the laptop by myself (I don't want to take it apart, I'm a girl)? Maybe some software that I could run and it will report errors? Any ideas what was that noise? The first thing I though about was the hard drive so I already started to save my valuable data...

    Thx for any help/ideas :)

Such sound could be developed by the different parties.
Usually it's not easy to say exactly what's wrong.
In most cases we can only assume (as the pyoc1_1 of the user), but these are own personal suggestions.

The strange sound could be developed in HDD or cooling module.
As Luke proposed, the HARD drive can be tested using the Drive Fitness Test software but the cooling modules can be tested in only by a Toshiba ASP.

I understand that the nearest ASP is very far, but I think you should always communicate with guys in order to get more details how to handle this problem. I mean the laptop is under warranty, so everything should be done for free.

I highly recommend containing the ASP in your country.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P200D - black screen and does not just by running

    Hello everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite P200D - 107 PSPBLE with configuration set-aside:

    Processor: Turion x 2 TL - 52 64-bit clocked at 1.6 Ghz
    Display: 17.3 inch
Graphics card: Ati radeon x 1200
    RAM: 2 x 512 MB ram (1 GB total) which I upgraded to 1 x 2000 MB and 1 x 512 MB (for a total of 2.5 GB)
OS: FACTORY CD WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32-BIT
Power: Running on the direct power without the battery cable

Although the pc is quite old sound fundamentally new barely there 1 year of normal use on it.

    PROBLEM:

The screen goes black (no), even if the screen still has the backlight running, the laptop is still under tension, but its basically in a kind of deep hibernation with the fan running yet.
The laptop screen turns off 5-10 minutes after windows loads, even if in idle, it also stops during installation of the operating system.
I tried to run the music and the music stops when the screen goes black made all the hard disk activity which I believe indicates that it is not related to the video chip.

    TRIED SO FAR:

    1. open up the computer laptop and cleaned all dust processor, now CPU temp is 50 max, even for hard disk
    2. update the bios to the original to 1.70 - did not help
3 connected external monitor also stops it the same time as the laptop screen indicating it is not not a screen issue
    4 reinstall OS several times
5 tested memory with memtest64 - no error
    6. test the hard drive with hddregenerator - no error

    What I've noticed:

If I leave just a 512 MB of ram in the laptop then the laptop stops not at all even in windows applications, tried to launch a game to remove video card and it works without problem for hours, but as soon as I add the stick of 2 GB or another origianal 512 stick it will go inside the black screen 5-10 min (or earlier) to get into windows.

He never stops in dos mode (as in memtest, hddregen) even with 2.5 GB of ram.

After that the screen goes black, if I stopped and then try to save, it it won't work at all, the screen stays black with the fan spinning and boot CD, I must absolutely disconect the power cord power and re - set before it starts again.

Anyone has any ideas, I am experienced with the pc, but have never stumbled upon something so weird that I have just can't explain this problem that came straight from heaven.

Toshiba to wake up, this forum is a total joke, you would think that you would be able to afford hiring a bunch of technicians to actually help people rather than rely on the users of the forum to do your work for your, you don't need to have a forum, if you don't have the staff to actually help people solve their problems.
