Satellite U500-10N - cannot update display driver

Hello

Recently, I tried to update my ATI mobility radeon hd 4500 series of v8.17.x.x.x to v8.6.x.xx.
I downloaded the drivers but when trying to install nothing happens and the mouse cursor disappears at the bottom right of the screen.

My specs are:

System manufacturer: TOSHIBA
System model: SATELLITE U500
BIOS: BIOS Date: 27/11/09 14:35:14 Ver: 2.30
Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00 GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 4092 MB of RAM

Operating system: Windows Vista editions Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Faze0924,

> I downloaded the driver
Where did you download the drivers?
Page ATI drivers directly will not work if you use the drivers provided on the official website of Toshiba.

And in general why you do a update display driver? Is this necessary?

    Hi experts, :)

I downloaded a new display driver ati from the archives of toshiba (for psm40e satellite). I know that my laptop has an ati chip, so I downloaded the driver for ati, installed, but after a reboot XP told me that the driver was written for an older version of himself (WIN XP) and does not work correctly...
Because I really need a driver updated for the thing, I was wondering if any of you know how and where I might be able to get a.

I've already tried ati directly, but the software told me to get the driver of toshiba... and current toshiba ati driver seems to be incompatible with XP SP3...
    I'm happy for suggestions!
    THX!

I think that the must decommission your Windows XP SP2, and then the driver should work.

Have you tried to install the driver manually? Go to Device Manager > right click on the graphics card > update driver
But before that I remove the old driver and software in Add and remove programs and then restart the computer.

Maybe it works, but try it.

    Hello

I assume that you have downloaded the zip package.
Rename the package for example in "display driver" and then uncompress the package.
Then go to the folder where the driver was decompressed and then launch the installation.

    Can you do this?

  • Re: Satellite L655 - 1 2 cannot update display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

When you try to install the new drivers from ATI, they say that their drivers are not supported by this hardware device
    What should I do?

Sorry for my English, I'm Russian)

The message appears because these drivers are not certified by Toshiba.
But as far as I know, you can install the driver through the Device Manager.
Create a folder on the desktop and unzip the driver package it.
Now, go into Device Manager, choose graphics card and use the Advanced installation which allows to point to the driver files, stored in the folder on the desktop.
Windows system must search for the new driver files.

    Hey,.

    > But Aida64 says I use 8.14/8.17 (ATI Catalyst 10.3) (I have no icon of catalyst)
It is important to have the icon of catalyst?
Aida64 is the 3rd third-party tool and maybe it shows you the wrong information.

    > But when I want to download the new drivers from ati
You shouldn't t use the ATI drivers, because they are not designed and pre-tested for your laptop. So use the original Toshiba display drivers. If you have already installed another version to remove it and then install the drivers of Toshiba.

    > Why only Bluetooth is activated when Windows starts, going off every time, he remembers for wi - fi, but I can't turn it off (power off) in the start menu.
Have you already tried to reinstall the Bluetooth software and package of added value?

  • Satellite C660-220 - cannot update graphic driver Intel

    Hello

The laptop supports the Intel Core i3 - 370 M CPU processor
According to the page Intel ARK where you can view all the technical features of the CPU, the CPU provides internal Intel HD graphics. It was the first version of GPU HD Intel.

I checked the Intel download page, and unfortunately, the Intel page does not provide the graphics card Intel HD (for Intel Core CPU 1 St gen) more.

  • Can satellite U500-10N - I install Windows XP?

    Hello

I bought the Satellite U500-10N and it has Vista, but I want to install XP, is it possible?

My plan is to backup all my files and then put the installation CD of XP, delete all files in Vista and record fresh new copy of XP. And then install all the drivers of nessesery to my laptop to functional normal? Is this possible? :\ I have
fear that if I install XP some features on my laptop will not work.

I am in need of help, please if someone knows something I will be grateful

    Hello

Theoretically, you can install Windows XP, why not? ;)

But I put t understand why you want to use such an old operating system. I mean the Satellite U500 is really fast enough for Vista and Windows 7 is present in a few days. You should be happy with your pre-installed Vista version that should work well.

The point is that Toshiba doesn't offer drivers U500 and XP so you must collect all the drivers yourself on the Internet that takes a lot of time. In addition, I think that some special functions, like the FN keys will not work because it you can get a driver from Toshiba.

It s your choice what you do but I'd wait for Windows 7 If you don't like Vista Satellite U500 n should also support Windows 7.

That's when I have access to the internet it's starting to make big noise... very irritating... When I turn the speaker off, it continues...

Also when I connect the headphones it is understood with headset. Only after the system is restarted, it will stop.

Pls let me know the problem and a good solution.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Such a problem is not known to me, I never heard tell about it...
But I m wondering you can hear the sound through the headset too.

In any case, you run factory settings? If this isn't the case, I recommend to reinstall Windows from the Toshiba recovery disc!
    Check this box!

Also check that the latest version of the BIOS is installed. In the worst case you it s a bad material work :(

  • Satellite U500 - 18L - can not update display driver

    I have a Satellite U500 - 18L running Windows 7 HP 64 - bit, which has a NVIDIA GeForce G210M GPU inside.
The problem is that I can't install the latest 64-bit drivers for Win 7 for laptops from NVIDIA.
I get an error message saying that no driver was found for your hardware configuration.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Olivier.

It is well known that the drivers for laptops must be installed manufacturers support page only. Graphics manufacturer doesn't want to be responsible for possible damage and display drivers are modified by the manufacturers of cell phones.

It has a few tips how to install them anyway, but I think this isn't the best idea.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - cannot update driver ATI

    Hello!

I have a problem with my graphics ATI Mobility Radeon x 1600 card card. I can't update to the latest driver from the ATI. The program says that it can not install on my system - contact company for the most recent driver. But the one that is provided by Toshiba is almost two years!
It all started with, that I could not run FIFA 2009... even if it clearly States in EA own manual that this graphics card is supported! But I do not see everything in the game - except the players. Only their shadows are visible...

I know it's a lot, but I'm pulling the hair here!

    HEEELP!

BTW: my system: Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-PSAACE - Core2Duo 2.0 GHz, 3 GB RAM, 120 GB of HARD drive Windows XP Pro.

I really wonder that many people do not understand why the laptop manufacturers don't offer drivers for graphics cards so often.
Each laptop manufacturer deals with design, hardware components and drivers used for the operation of the equipment. On laptops, hardware components are miniaturized and placed close to each other. This means that the heat and is a common problem for the designers of the laptop.

Each computer laptop (hardware, drivers, BIOS, cooling system) is designed to operate in optimal conditions. If you want the new driver that can force a graphics card to run on the maximum limit, the result will be more heat. More heat means more risk for damaging hardware and overheating.

So to laptops, there are limits that must and should be respected. Graphics card manufacturers cannot just offer new drivers for laptops and be responsible for the damage. When some owner of the laptop is damage graphics card because of the driver who should be responsible? ATI or Toshiba?

For this reason, graphics card manufacturers say clearly: If you want the new driver laptop computer contact the manufacturer. Manufacturers must also protect the customer s of material and be careful with this stuff.

So I think you see how it works and the display driver update will be probably endless discussion on each laptop computers forum.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite M70 - CLI - cannot install display or SM Bus controller driver

    Hello

I have a Satellite M70 - cli PSM73C-CL100E and I got a new hard drive and loaded Windows xp. I went on the Toshiba site and downloaded and installed all the drivers. I have no problem with the wifi atheros, the sound, modem or chipset drivers. I also updated the bios v2.10 all successfully.

The problem is with the video card. I used huntersoft program and know that the chipset is an ATI. He also says it's an ATIradeon xpress 200 m with 128 MB DDR shared video. When I try and install the ATI driver it says Setup could not complete the installation. Try to configure your graphics card with the standard vga driver.

I spent hours on the net. I tried the ATI L30 XP driver and it does the same thing. I tried the driver ATI radeon xpress 200 m and it says not found material. I don't have the original CD I know he works as the old drive worked fine. Unfortunately, I wiped as well to put in a laptop more old. I should have gotten the drivers out of it. :(

Does anyone have an idea? It drives me crazy! Thanks for any help. Marilyn

    Hi mjmx4,

How have you tried to install the display driver?

Normally, you can install the driver (screen) If you run the setup.exe file that comes with the driver package. Follow the instructions on the screen thanks to the installation of the driver, the driver will be installed.

Alternative you can install the driver if you go to Device Manager and right click on the graphics card. Choose update driver and use advanced installation where you can choose the directory and the driver yourself.

By the way: before starting with the installation of the driver, you must install Service Pack 3 for XP.

  • Cannot install display driver for Vista on Satellite M70-159

    Hello

I have the Satellite M70-159 with ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 700. I know that it sounds stupid, but I didn't install any graphics driver. I installed Vista Ultimate to test and each hardware component is recognized correctly except sound and SD card reader. Audio driver found somewhere on the net, and SD card reader is not so important to me.

  • Satellite C50-B-13D - cannot install display driver

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50-B-13D. I had to reinstall my OS Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit. Now, I have a problem with the drivers. For example, I can't install the display driver. After that I give the permission to make changes on my computer, the error message "this computer is unresponsive to the minimum requierments to install this software. Does anyone know what I can do?

As I'm not mistaken Satellite C50-B-13D does not dedicated GPU, but the laptop was equipped with the Intel Celeron CPU of N2830 supporting the Intel HD Graphics 4000

If you need to install the display driver Intel HD 4000.

Usually, you have two possibilities to install the driver.
You can run the installation.exe (setup.exe) file, or you install the driver in Device Manager. I recommend you to choose option 2 in the case where the standard procedure done functions.

The Toshiba UE driver page driver must be decompressed.
You will find in the folder display-20140528122046 the TC40214900E.exe
It is a zipped file. Right-click this file and choose "unzip here".
Now, you will get another folder TC40214900E where you will find all the driver (dll) files.

Next step: go to the Device Manager, choose graphics card, and then click the driver update/installation
Now choose the "Advanced" installation option and point to the folder of the unzipped driver.
The system will get the files automatically, and you can complete the installation.

    That's all.

  • Satellite L850 - 1 HR and Win7-cannot install Display Driver

    Hello

I reinstalled my laptop Toshiba Satellite L850 with old Windows 7. I installed all the necessary drivers. After you install the display driver in the device under display adapetrs Manager I see the message that the adapter is not working properly because the system cannot load the drivers.

On Win7, it has also installed SP1. I don't see why drivers are not loaded correctly. Does anyone have an idea on what could be the problem?

    Thanks, Mateja

    Hello

The Satellite L850 - 1 hr is equipped with a graphics chip from ATI Radeon HD 7670 M
I guess that the ATI driver is not installed correctly.

On the page of the driver Toshiba UE especially in Satellite L850 PSKG8E area, I couldn't find the Win 7 driver download.
But I checked the drivers available for all series of L850 and I found the AMD display drivers.

You should do this too. Choose the series of satellites L850 (short model No. Select all) in the driver download the form and you will get all the available drivers for Win 7 and Win 8
AMD display drivers should be included too.,.
