  After that I did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 32 bit on my Satellite U500, I get more options in the control panel of the Synaptics touchpad.

  You can install the version of Win8 own to see how it works and also try to use some specific Toshiba tools available for new models of portable computers. Right now on this forum we don t have much feedback about Win8 on older models of laptops.
