  I own Satellite M30X (model) after I left the laptop on while awhile, the computer went on standby to fashion. When I turned it on, the screen does not work, everything else is ok. I use the external monitor to the laptop. Everything seems to be in the order outside the screen. I did a system recovery and still the same problem. I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem.

  I know the screen works, because you can see roughly. It seems to me that the screen is always on standby.

  I have never heard of this issue, but have you tried an external keyboard? Check it!

  What's your Windows up-to-date with all Service Packs and patches?
  I doubt that s a hardware issue and in the worst case, you must reinstall.

  I just share what happened to me in the hope that it will help someone.

  I have a Satellite A135-s4487 with Vista.

  Recently I went to change my menu start because we all know how Toshiba wants to add so many things on startup. Well what happened to me is that my internet and multimedia buttons on the left was next to my keyboard doesn't work anymore, the game and other buttons worked. Just not the button multimedia/internet. Then I went back in and reset my start on the way it was, but still does not work. After calling Toshiba and make them tell me I need to just restore my device I said I would like to figure it out. Now remember I have Vista not XP so the old common modules of Toshiba and Toshiba utility controls are no longer there. After looking into it, I found that for Vista, the software that makes it work is therefore called the Toshiba value added Package. This software should uninstall the program and reinstall after that you should be near the top of form and will. Now, I install the software to my restore disk so I don't really know if the one on the site will work, but I see not why not just make sure that you download for your module.

  I did a new install of Win 7 pro 64-bit, and after it does not my fan, not at the start or in Windows. To check if it the fan itself was broken I re-installed Vista instead and the fan worked again!
  Installed new Win 7 but now it's silent :( I checked in the BIOS (latest version 1.80) but I couldn't find any option here. Am I missing a driver or something?

  My Satellite canned extinguishing because of this, so I would really appreciate help :)

  Hmmmm... really strange. I use Win7 32 bit on my Satellite A300-1LI and it works perfectly.
  Maybe a stupid question now, but have you tried to use the 32 bit version?

  You have also installed all the Toshiba drivers Toshiba value added package (includes the Toshiba power saver tool)?

  It's really hard to say why this happens, but first I would try to update the driver for the webcam. You can get the latest version on the Toshiba site:

  Thanks for the reply and the information updated. Check the link to your model and you will keep. Thre is no specific driver for Windows 10 for this computer for now, but there is a Bluetooth for Windows 8.1 driver.

  I could start with the HP Support Assistant, as I mentioned and see if she can find something for you.   I use VMware Server 1. I created a Fedora 9 guest operating system. I used bridged networks. I've edited/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0 and assigned static IP. It works very well.

  I have a macbook pro retina early 2015 version running on El Capitan OS X (10.11.4).

  Recently, I started using the dictation feature & speech and found that it will not work after waking from sleep (most of the time that I do not close).

  When I press the shortcut key to activate the dictation, the microphone at the corner will 'three-treatment-points', is therefore the microphone icon in the status bar (I know that my microphone works well btw).   I use increased dictation. When I finished with the dictation, I deliberately left it. My Mac closes every day at sunset. With OS X and OS X 10.11.4 10.11.5, I have no problems with the dictation, other than his words of misunderstanding sometimes.
