Satellite Z830-10U power not on
I connected my Satellite Z830-10U in power and left it running for half an hour and then I saw him as Eve extended (screen off). Then it was left for 20 hours of yesterday, plugged into the power outlet... There now
its 'DC in' orange indicator flashing, power indicator light is green regularly, that the eco indicator is also on and green. The screen is off, and it's like the shutdown of the system.
The problem is that the power botton is not working and pressing (whether for a short or long period) has no
effect. I plug the AC power adapter when you are connected to the computer and I see that the battery indicator is
Green and stays until I have unplug the adapter from socket or unplug charger from
How can I turn it on and get my files back?
Thanks in advance.
> How to start and recover my files?
Well, the files are on the HARD drive
So you can remove the laptop HARD drive and you can use an external USB to SATA controller /enclosure in order to connect the HARD drive to a different computer.
It would be the best way to get access to files
The other story is the feature of laptop power
To me it seems that his question in such cases and related equipment the unit needs are checked by technician I hope that this is not a motherboard because in this case you must replace the mobo and it could be a costly affair
Guarantee is valid?
I have a Satellite Z830-10U, I LOVE & have had no problems with since I bought it 4 years ago. Just today, I get a message that there is a problem with the battery & I would like to replace it. He's dead now completely - while still working with the power supply
I searched online and cannot find a replacement. I called support of Toshiba who said I need a battery 8-cell 3200 Altair - & gave me the number for "" Topaz"technical support". They are now closed for the (big) weekend! I did a search online & Duracell sell one for the Satellite Z830 (but does not mention the 10U bit) - & description = Satellite Z830 hand 14.8V battery 8-cell 3060mAh.
Is it totally different than Altair 3200?
I have no idea?
Why I find it so difficult to find a replacement? The guys at Toshiba said they should not have been made obsolete the again, because it's not so old?
Any ideas please? Thank you
The information that you got is just. your laptop uses 8CELL battery 3200_ALTAIRU.
In my opinion you should not ask why you can not find it so easily.
As you probably know, the manufacturers of mobile offers two types of batteries. Batteries that can be redeemed by the owner of the laptop. For these batteries, you can get the part number and order almost anywhere.
Problem is that your computer has a specific design and battery is placed under the lid. To be honest you are not allowed to remove the cover on your own as this will void your warranty.
Believe me, that the best option for you is to make the exchange of the battery with the help of the authorized service provider. It can't be so problematic for you to wait a few days and clarify all this with Toshiba service, right?
Do not remove the bottom cover on your own. Battery itself is also fixed with several screws and connected to the motherboard with low battery connector. Small mistake and you can damage something. Let the technicians to do it for you.
I had my Z830-10U yesterday and started setting up. When I tried to load a few things that require Java Run Time, they all failed. I went to the site of Java and ran his detector who told me that the plugin was not installed. Then I went and checked and in my list of installed programs is Java Run Time.
Thus, assuming that the installation of the factory was not right, that I downloaded the latest version of the drivers from the website of Java, uninstalled Java, restarted and installed Java again. No joy. Yet once again, I rebooted and tried to reinstall once again no luck at all (in fact I tried several times)
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would also like to point out that I made sure that the previous version had been uninstalled before attempting to add the new version
I see that the Satellite Z930 is supported for windows 10 Toshiba upgrades list, but no sign of Z830. I have a Z830-10U and trying to decide whetehr to resume the free update to windows 10 before it runs out in July 2016. Someone has done it successfully?
Although no rating by Toshiba, I just successfully upgraded my Z830 win 10 and everything seems to work. When win 10 was originally released my first attempt failed (blue screen and his motor boat) so I had to reinstall Win 8.
Before this second successful attempt, I checked with Toshiba to make sure the motherboard is compatible, downloaded "Driver of Talent" and drivers up-to-date and changed the power settings continuously to ensure no stops during installation...
All of it worked and now I WIN 10 work on my Z830. At this point I'm not sure works of Bluetooth which stopped when I upgraded from Win 7 to 8 Win.
My Satellite L40 - 10U won't boot to the top. I turn it on, fan, DVD-ROM, battery LED works. Hard drive LED flashes only once (if I'm lucky). The screen is blank, in the light of the Sun, I noticed it darkenes lit, but no other activity (I tried external, still nothing). I also tried the trick with removing the battery push the power button, and plug the charger, etc but still nothing.
Now, I noticed that when I remove the Rams (or try connecting only once in time) it still does exactly the same thing, so I want to make sure if it is a problem with the Rams dead? Is there a way to check the Rams without connecting to another obstacle not tariff (I did not)?

And what happens at this point? Laptop will stay on or get OFF automatically?
By the way: check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSD57013H000JR01.htm
I have a Z830-10U and you have upgraded to Win10. Now I get a message - the Dolby audio driver 7.2.8000.17 current version and the software application expects that the version of the driver 7.2.7000.7.Please install a valid driver and combination application software.
I can't find the driver anywhere. do any one help please?
I checked the page updated Win10 - http://win10upgrade.toshiba.com/swup...=en&country=GB and your laptop model is not listed there.
I don't know if this will help, but have you tried to install the drivers for Z930?
I have a Toshiba Z830-10U.
Does anyone know how which piece (s) of the software, I need so that the two buttons programmable near the power (the eco button and the view button) button and the button that must alternate power the trackpad (between the SPACEBAR and the touchpad) to work?
These three buttons are currently nothing when you press. All other software is running properly.
Have you tried to install VAP?
Value-added Package can be downloaded from the Toshiba Eu driver page. This package contains some necessary applications that control different features and one of these features are multimedia keys
When I turn on my Satellite M50, it did not recognize my diet out and under voltage of the supply battery.
There is no problem with the computer before hand and there is no change of hard/software recently.
The LCD screen on the front indicators are all dark even with connected electrical output power.
I tried to have disconnected and reconnected as well as using other sources of output, but in vain.
You want to hear my personal suggestion?
So I think that there are only two possibilities;
The power adapter is faulty or there is something wrong with the motherboard power supply.
But first the AC adapter should be checked.
My laptop don't boot: the Toshiba logo does not appear when I start my laptop (Satellite L555-10U). I think that there is a Troubé with the motherboard and I read on the internet I have to do a CMOS clear, but I don't know where the CMOS jumper is located? You have any ideas?
Sorry if I speak very well English (I'm french).
Thank you in advance! :)
What happens when you press the button walk / stop?
Is there a any reaction?
Forget the CMOS clear. Who knows what's wrong there. Maybe you tried to update the BIOS or anything that may be responsible for the situation with your laptop?
I have been using a USB mouse for a few weeks and touchpad is still operational. A few days ago the touchpad has stopped working. No issues are raised in the device manager that told me the power switch for the touchpad buttons. But by pressing the dedicated button and fn F9 has not changed anything.
Really confused, but think I'm missing something really obvious that I can not think an event trigger, so assuming that some magic button will bring the key back to life.
All help gratefully received...
What happens if you disconnect the USB mouse?
You can use the touchpad again?
From my point of view, the use or installation of an external USB mouse has affected the touchpad feature, I can't say with certainty why and what is happening right here, but I read in various forums on similar problems and sometimes caused USB mouse use touchpad problems.
For example: in my case the touchpad does not work with connected USB mouse I was very confused, but found a solution in my case the option disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected has been verified and this disabled the touchpad.
You can find it here:
Control Panel-> mouse-> last (Advanced) tab-> the Advanced Settings button
One of my friends couldn't use the touchpad because it has been disabled in the BIOS.
It is worth to check also
I have a legitimate copy of the Partner MS Windows 8. Is it possible to clean install them for this or I have to run some sort of upgrade Toshiba software.
I can't find the software to upgrade toshiba Windows8 for this model.
I can install from scratch but don't want tolose stuff of early speed, Intel etc.
As far as I know 8 to win is not officially on the market and currently, the kit upgrade Toshiba win 8 official is not available on the Toshiba site.
Of course, you can install the 8 on this laptop, but you win will have to wait to win 8 pilots, however you can try some Win 7 drivers in many cases, they would be compatible with Win 8
Hi, who can help?
sanDisk SDXC 64 GB 45 M/s will not recognize by satellite Z830
Win 7 home
I read in the specs: the drive is able to do this.
Marcius thanks for your response.
I tried a lot of smaler maps. They are ok.
In my view, the 45MB per second caused the problem.

Message has been modified: subject changed Portege Z830 to Satellite Z830
Hmmm, someone changed my title for portege z830 instead of the z830 ultrabook
I don't think my laptop to be a portege
When I list my part number in the drop-down menus, it shows me that
PT22LA - 00T 001
I can't find the words portege anywhere on my laptop
Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 does not start correctly when you press the power button. The situation is the following: when I press the power button is displayed the opening of Toshiba (Leading Innovation) and the disappers image quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. There is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation under. And nothing happens however long wait.
In order to get with the trial starting I then shut down the computer by pressing the power button until the computer turns off. ("The hard way to close")
Now, I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then, the computer starts normally with the photo to open Toshiba and after a few seconds, I wonder to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.
What should I do to get a normal departure procedure?
When the laptop starts normally (after choosing normal mode) stop your laptop properly using START > shut down option. Next launch should be normal.
When the OS is moving towards the low irregularly will always ask you how to start this new (secure or normal mode).
The same thing happen on my Satellite A300.
I can't find the driver for 4500/5100 hd graphics card to upgrade my PC
It is pslw8e by Satellite L555-10U
Thank you max9z
I put t know what OS do you use, but all the latest drivers for the supported operating systems you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
