Satellite Z830 - how to replace broken screen?

An imprudent family member succeeded in cracking the screen of a relatively new z830 of Toshiba. He broke quite badly, so I doubt it will be repairable.

I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on the best way to get a replacement, the bonus points for all information in the area of Melbourne.

Thank you

Hello Seamus

There is only one reasonable advice: contact the Toshiba service in Melbourne and let them replace the screen. I know it's going to be quite expensive, but believe me, this should be done by authorized services.

  • How to replace the screen & HDD in Tecra S1

Could someone help me with 2 queries?
    1. how to replace the screen? I broke my screen 15 "and have a replacement original but would like to know if this is possible without the help of the reseller, etc.
    2. bad drive c. message is 992 KB bad clusters. How to replace or repair the C drive?
    Thank you

    Hello

Well, the replacement of HARD disk drive is very easy on the Tecra S1.
At the bottom of the unit, you will find a cover that protects the HARD drive Bay.
    A screw covers. Remove it.
Then, it should be possible to remove the HARD drive.

The replacement of the screen is another matter. It is not easy to remove it. In this case I recommend to contact Toshiba service in your country for details.

  • How to replace the screen broke on Satellite M40X-251?

    Hi guys!

This phone fell an office and the monitor is completely messed up. Nothing else seems to have been damaged, and it still works fine on an external monitor. I'm looking for a screen replacement and instructions on how to replace it.

How much would cost a Toshiba 15.4 widescreen monitor TFT of 1200 * 800 and where I could get it?

I can't find a manual explaining how to disassemble a laptop Toshiba M40X to replace the monitor. Could someone give me a link to these repair manuals or to guide me through the process?

    Thanks in advance!

Found these instructions, I think they would work for a M40X but if anyone can confirm:
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaM35X/satellite-M35X-display-1.htm

    And the resolution is 1280 * 800 not 1200 * 800, little mistake.

    Kind regards

    Hey mate,

First of all I must say that replacement of the screen, and the disassembly of the laptop is usually quite complicated and delicate. You must remove a large number of screws, it must be very careful. So it's not easy to replace the screen.
Maybe you can find some instructions if you're looking for with Google

And a replacement screen or number, you can get your authorized service provider. Simply contact the guy and ask for help and they can exchange the screen too.

  • How to replace the screen of laptop DV4-1140go

I replaced the many laptop screens. THS is different & hard!  Doesn't have a window on screen. The screen is like a plastic see through the cover outwards with the sticky substance around it. Any ideas on how to remove the screen?

    Hello:

Sorry I can't help you further with your laptop.

The only screen I already worked on that came from an old nc4000.   Only, I needed to replace the hinges. I had to separate the collar trim around the screen which is held with this Goo.

I have no need to remove the real billboard to replace the hinges.

  • Satellite L850 - how to replace a HARD disk recovery partition?

    Hello.

Toshiba laptop Satellite L850. PSKDGA-02Y012. The original HARD drive has failed in his colleagues even mobile, so we replaced the two HARD drive after you have created a recovery USB. When used to restore the operating system to original status of OOB.
That has worked and portable runs much, but now I want to BACK the recovery partition (now only on the USB I think) for the new HARD drive.

Simple to shrink the disk HARD C: (partition 2) on the HARD disk, but then how to transfer twhats on the USB (USB recovery stick) back on the HARD drive?

    Thanks for any help.

    Karim...

    Hello karim

When you buy the notebook you will get it with preinstalled operating system (recovery image). Original recovery image is saved on the HARD disk on the recovery partition.
Each owner of the laptop has option to make the backup recovery image and create recovery media. It could be the DVD or USB support. You can do this by using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.
This tool will create bootable recovery media that can be used for the installation of original image recovery if there is problem with the installation of image disk HARD recovery or when the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Where the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced or the owner of the laptop to upgrade HARD drive, you can install original image created using recovery recovery media (USB). After installing recovery image, you will have the same situation as for the first boot after the purchase of the laptop. With other words notebook will have factory settings again.

In this case original recovery image is already copied onto the new HARD drive and you will also be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery. There is therefore no reason to copy a recovery on HARD drive media.
Please note: installation of HARD drive recovery works with the factory only settings.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Good luck.

    How can I tighten again?

Where are the screws on the screen?

    Hello

Have you tested the laptop to an external monitor? Perhaps it is not a problem with the monitor and your graphics card or card mother is causing this issue.
    Check it!

Moreover I replaced didn't a computer laptop screen myself again because it s too difficult and delicate in my opinion. You need to remove a large number of screws and you should be very careful that you n t destroy a part or material of the laptop.

I think the best way is to contact a local laptop technician you. They can try to help you and they have enough experience for the exchange of material on a laptop computer.

  • Satellite A200 - how to replace the HARD drive?

Hey, I recently some strange problems with my laptop. I installed a new copy of Windows Vista and also tried with Windows 7 a few times. But eveytime I get problems. The installation of the operating system right. But after I installed some Windows updates my computer becomes very slow and at some point, I am unable to install any application, because it crashes just when installing... This happends with all the big software products such as Visual Studio, 3d Max, After Effects... etc.

So I think that my HARD drive has a large number of bad sectors. I also tried to erase everything on my drive with KillDisk, but it hangs at 16%. Once again something that seems to be my HARD drive.

But before you buy a new, I'd like to hear your opinions on my problem and I would also like to know how I have to replace my HDD on a Toshiba Satellite a200. I don't know where it is placed and what parts I need to unscrew.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello!

The HARD drive is placed on the underside of the laptop.

The HARD drive on the underside Bay is fixed by two screws. Remove the screws and the HARD drive. Then you can swap the HARD drive.
But unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery before doing this.

The new HARD disk must have the SATA interface.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M30 - how to replace the hinges?

    Hello!

Has anyone replaced the hinges on Satellite M30? Any help or a link to a manual would be useful.

    Thnx!

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no manual maintenance on the page of Toshiba Europe. Only the authorized service provider got access to such manuals.

    I found this page:
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba_Satellite_M35/take_apart_notebook_1.htm

But I put t know if it will be useful for you.
Generally, I have to say that the replacement of hinges is not easy. It s really complicated because the laptop must be disassembled.
You must remove the mask of the display first and then have to remove the LCD screen before you could see the hinges.

To be honest I don't recommend trying to replace it with your own hand because you may damage other parts.
I recommend a visit to a local technician for laptop and I would like to ask for help.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A200 - how to replace Vista with XP?

I received a Satellite A200, because the owner was heartily sick of Windows Vista which came installed on it. Everything I have heard talk about Vista convinces me that I don't want to have anything to do with it. In addition to my wife - who will use the computer, serves to XP and wants to continue to use it.

After a day and a half looking for instructions on how to get the A200 to boot from a CD on which SATA drivers required as well as the files of XP installation disc was compiled AND burn 4 CD, I can't always get things working!

Please... surely someone in the Toshiba Land has successfully dealt with this problem before! Guess I'll try tomorrow, but some help would be appreciated of course.

    Hi spktrm,.

Yes, you re right and you must integrate the SATA drivers in the XP installation disc. Therefore, you will need to download the Intel Storage Manager driver package that contains this SATA driver you need. Here in the forum there is already an article interesting how to proceed:
[How to integrate the AHCI SATA driver during the installation of Windows XP? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=38]

Alternative you can install XP without this driver if you change the HARD drive in the BIOS from AHCI Compatible. Then, you use the normal Microsoft Windows XP disk. ;)

  • Satellite Pro L4500 x 12 broken screen.

I have the above laptop model, who appeared to be when you run ok, until the day when the screen was opened to use machine, a crack appeared on the screen (at the bottom right).

I sent this machine here, only for a report back that damage to the screen must have been caused by a user of the machine that the screen can not break by himself.

I've heard that what has happened with other brands of machine, using similar screens and now I'm wondering, as other companies have acknowledged that there were problems with some screens, and if there was the same problem with everything on Toshiba laptops (maybe same suppliers for Toshiba as other companies).

If someone has had this same problem and the problem is solved as im asking now for £169 to replace. (locally ive been told I can get a "lesser" up to £110 quality screen) but the machine is still under warranty of 12 months, I don't think its fair I would have to pay to replace it, when the crack appeared just by itself.

To be honest, I had a lot of cell phones in my life and I have never heard of this question and heard talk that the screen could never break without any use of force.

So, what to say. usually, this replacement of the screen is not covered by the warranty and it seems that in this case, you will have to pay for the new part ;(

  • Satellite M110 - how to replace the HARD drive?

Need to replace my hard drive because the original is f & % $ ed.

I tried to connect the original hard drive from my other laptop via a USB cable to Sata, but it does not appear. You can feel it spinning. I was able to do a test of HARD drive on it and it failed in the Toshiba via a bootable CD. Since I can access the drive HARD to get to the recovery section, which is the best way to reinstall windows XP on it, so I can use the original XP key on the bottom of the laptop. As I know that you usually have the right version or OEM windows copy in order to use certain keys.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Your ad is a little confusing... What HARD drive you use in what book now?

If you want to install the OS on your old/new HARD drive, so you can use t a converter USB SATA. Therefore, use it as internal drive HARD.

In addition, a HARD of Western Digital drive would be appropriate due SATA port. :)
