  I had the similar problem with my Satellite P10. After installation of SP2, the startup procedure takes much longer. Check please the processes that start to run and disable some of them if you n t need them.

  Have you installed SP2 or it is also to the recovery image?

  In my opinion, it is not specific for certain just usual laptop models. My second unit (without SP2) starts a lot faster.

• Satellite A60 - very slow USB transfer speed

  I have a Satellite A60 with XP Home and the USB transfer speed is very very low. Is 2.0, but it is not working properly, because it takes about 30 minutes to copy the data from 1 GB on a USB 2.0 drive externally.

  I tried my USB drives on another computer and work quickly and well, so it is probably just a problem of drivers, but can't find them on the web from Toshiba to reinstall them. I heard that it is a common problem after installation of XP Service Pack 2, but I didn't do anything, I use the operating system as it came when I bought the laptop (with XP Home SP2 preinstalled original), I do not change any configuration or install drivers that can affect to the USB controllers and it has always been so slow.

  Could someone help? I tried to reinstall the drivers from Toshiba, but I think that there are not more special just for the USB, what should I update then?   In my view, it is really not necessary to reinstall the USB drivers because the USB HDD is recognized correctly and it works.

• Satellite L500 - very slow operation

  A Satellite L500 running Windows 7. It has suddenly slowed down, almost at a standstill. If I expose the computer for a few hours just on desktop it goes into mode "Eve" as expected.
  The problem is that he comes back to life very slowly, taking minutes for each order to be processed. I usually give up and try to shut down the computer, but which can take forever. I finally hold the power button to turn off. When I reboot, everything is OK.

  I assume that you have installed an additional application, which can be a troublemaker.
  Google say that CNQMSWCS.exe is a Menu Image quick view Canon and it is application of Canon.

  Please try to remove this app from the system and having it roll back OS asks to restore a few days using System. I hope that preinstalled OS will run again OK.

• Very slow operation for cell migration to W8.1 of W7 on a new computer.

  The startup disk may be necessary repair.

  Come on in/Applications/Utilities, then start the Disk Utility app.

  Select the disk to boot on the left then click the first aid tab, and then click run.

  If you have not then I highly recommend that you run at least two are different. I use MS Anti Spyware and Spybot.

  Only you can decide what software is not important to you
  Toshiba has preinstalled many different programs. Most of these applications control certain features of the laptop as keys FN, controls, etc., but of course, this software needs of material resources and slow down the start-up procedure.

  In MSCONFIG, you can disable some processes and could test how the laptop would be without these applications.

  In addition, I recommend to update or remove the Tempro tool, which has been pre-installed by Toshiba!

  The Avira scanner is great. I m using both and it s free.
  This eater of low material s and, therefore, the laptop should start more quickly instead of using Avira Kaspersky.
