Save the results locally when the database is offline

Hello world!

I work to justify the implementation of teststand for automation of test on the company where I work, far it seems that is the way to go, but they are some of the senior management, hesitating on this subject. One of the things that will be great for us (he will give him a +) is the ability to store the results locally on the workstation, where the database is offline (failure of the server or client disconnected from the network), and once he returns, the data is transferred to the database.

We want to use SQL server for the database. I thought creating a SQL Server express locally on the computer, so all of the results will always be saved in the station first, I tried to use the sql import/export wizard to import data from a sql server to another, but I did not find any way to do it automatically, we are looking for one of the solution of the box free of charge or regular very very cheap It will be installed on each workstation.

Thanks for your help and congratulations!

Abelino,

You can take advantage of the new features in later versions of TestStand.  In 2012, and most recent, you can write raw results.  As said Dennis you could just always write raw results.  Then use the TestStand Offline results new treatment utility write those in the database: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052K-01/tsref/infotopics/offline_processing_utility/

You can create a service or something to do.

BTW - Plugins can run in its own thread.

  • Save the database file

    Hello I'm designing a website for my company so my customers can easily view and project progress reports. I want to create a database that will allow me to download files from drawing updated and provide a description and a download link so that my clients can download them.  I have worked with databases, but am not really a teacher to him. I don't know how to set the attributes that will allow a file to be downloaded on the path and provide a link to download. offered help or direction would be appreciated greately.

    Can it be done in Dreamweaver? Yes.

    Dreamweaver will do all the coding for you? N °

    What you want to do is not particularly difficult, but this requires the knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Dreamweaver extensions sold by WebAssist to might be able to automate the process for you, but I've never used them, so can't make no specific recommendations.

  • Backup of the database of the eve

    I backup my primary database (11.2.0.3) every night with RMAN - no problem. I also have a database of pending. Should I be back up the standby database too?

    If I should be back up, it causes a problem, save the database in the RMAN catalog? Even if the db_unique_name is different, it always has the same DBID.

    Thank you

    Hello

    the backup database is an identical copy of the primary database block.
    Therefore, simply to save one of the two (you can choose to only save the day before, however, if you want to load on the primary leigthen). But if you are uncomfortable with the primary backup, it is not necessary for the safeguarding of the day before. (Since you can recreate the primary backup before).

    The only important part, is that you use the RMAN catalog. Then only known RMAN, the two are identical and can use the same backup.

    So:
    a.) primary backup is enough
    (b) If you save both, there will be no problem in the RMAN catalog, because RMAN knows that it is the same database.

  • How to determine the number of rows in the database and save the result to a local variable?

    Hello

    I'm a newbie in the use of TestStand, databases and SQL, and now I've met difficulties. I use TestStand 2014 (32 bit).

    I have a need to know the number of rows in a database and save that number in a local variable. I tried to practice using the database of the Types of step provided with TS. I tried to use the following in a SQL statement:

    Locals.NumberOfRows = ("SELECT COUNT (*) FROM TEST_TABLE")

    It returns an error: specified value is not the expected type. My goal is possible in this way, or I'm doing this completely wrong?

    -RautSa

    Thank you for your response, Norbert. I have a database of who wins new values at random, and sometimes I need the exact number of rows in this table.

    I managed to achieve my goal by using the SQL statement: "SELECT COUNT (*) as Rowcount OF TEST_TABLE", followed by a data GET operation, which records that number of lines in a local variable.

  • Rescue and save to a local folder, if the record in IMAP fails

    I would like to save my sent messages or IMAP projects.
    But if the server or the internet is down, I would be able to save to a local folder instead.
    For the spoils, it's no big deal to save them manually to a local folder, for not sending emails, however it is annoying.
    So, when the question comes up: "there was an error saving message in drafts. Try again? "it would be good if there was a third button, additional to the"Cancel"where data is lost and 'Ok' where it will fail again, a third option, 'save locally,' would be possible.
    Y at - it an addon or an option hidden, to change the location, after that I have send / began to write the letter?

    Additional information:
    I wasn't able to change the settings for the current session, once the mail is send, store it somewhere else.
    I think I've changed all the settings to save messages locally, but it is still trying to save sometimes in IMAP. In order to be able to configure the location where to save the current message, it would be great.

    I use Fedora, with thunderbird - 31.7.0 - 1.fc21.x86_64 and thunderbird-lightning - 3.3 - 5.fc21.x86_64

    Apparently, I do not change the settings of all identities.

    After replaceing imap://*@*/ with mailbox://nobody@Local%20Folders/, it seems to work.

    Also I try to use LabSQL-1. 1a. But it has the same result.

    I found the solution.

    I think the problem was that I have very large table in my database.

    At the beginning I received data from table with next quiry:

    SELECT column1, column2 FROM 'table ';

    Hi @RobV711,

  • Access to locale and the launch of applications is blocked as well as save the downloads of IE 8. How should I do?

    I wanted to change the permissions of ClamWin to give access to all files. I was getting messages indicating that permission is denied when parsing these files. I guess I was "over-* ' trying to do and made a mistake in the transfer of the permissions. I want to be able to change everything to where "user" has access to normal activities, including being able to launch applications, run Internet Explorer normally and in order to save downloads (pictures and video) to my local drive 'c' and my thumb drive "h." Can someone tell me what I did wrong and how possibly fix this without wiping the OS and reinstall? Help... it is really annoying and I would never do that again. I can launch IE8 and some applications, but cannot create new documents or save files on local drives through these applications.

    Hello, Joey

    First try the system restore, it will be easy to restore your permissions, if you have an available restore point.
    How to restore Windows XP to a previous state: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

    If this isn't an option, you can try running the secedit command listed for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 on the KB below, but be aware that it is not supported and can cause unforeseen problems that may not be recoverable. The command is at your own risk.

    To run it, you will need to click Start, click Run, and then paste the command.

  • Waiting for redo log file missing when restore main database using RMAN backup that was taken on the database physical standby

    Here's my question after tons of research and test without have the right solutions.

    Target:

    (1) I have a 12.1.0.2 database unique main enterprise 'testdb' as database instance running on the server "node1".

    (2) I created physical standby database "stbydb" on the server "node2".

    (3) DataGuard running on the mode of MaxAvailability (SYNC) with roll forward in real time 12 default c apply.

    (4) primary database has 3 groups of one-man redo. (/oraredo/testdb/redo01.log redo02.log redo03.log)

    (5) I've created 4 standby redo logfiles (/oraredo/testdb/stby01.log stby02.log stby03.log stby04.log)

    (6) I do RMAN backup (database and archivelog) on the site of relief only.

    (7) I want to use this backup for full restore of the database on the primary database.

    He is a DR test to simulate the scenario that has lost every primary & Eve total servers.

    Here is how to save, on the database pending:

    (1) performance 'alter database recover managed standby database Cancel' to ensure that compatible data files

    (2) RMAN > backup database;

    (3) RMAN > backup archivelog all;

    I got elements of backup and copied to primary db Server something like:

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_nnndf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq099p_.BKP (data files)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.BKP (spfile & controlfile)

    /Home/Oracle/backupset/o1_mf_annnn_TAG20151002T133357_c0xq15xf_.BKP (archivelogs)

    So here's how to restore, on the main site:

    I clean all the files (data files, controlfiles oder all gone).

    (1) restore spfile from pfile

    RMAN > startup nomount

    RMAN > restore spfile from pfile ' / home/oracle/pfile.txt' to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    (2) modify pfile to convert to db primary content. pFile shows below

    *.audit_file_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB/admin/testdb/adump '

    * .audit_trail = "db".

    * full = '12.1.0.2.0'

    *.control_files='/oradata/testdb/control01.ctl','/orafra/testdb/control02.ctl'

    * .db_block_size = 8192

    * .db_domain = "

    *.db_file_name_convert='/testdb/','/testdb /'

    * .db_name = "testdb".

    * .db_recovery_file_dest ='/ orafra'

    * .db_recovery_file_dest_size = 10737418240

    * .db_unique_name = "testdb".

    *.diagnostic_dest='/opt/Oracle/DB '

    * .fal_server = "stbydb".

    * .log_archive_config = 'dg_config = (testdb, stbydb)'

    * .log_archive_dest_2 = "service = stbydb SYNC valid_for = (ONLINE_LOGFILE, PRIMARY_ROLE) db_unique_name = stbydb'"

    * .log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'ENABLE '.

    *.log_file_name_convert='/testdb/','/testdb /'

    * .memory_target = 1800 m

    * .open_cursors = 300

    * runoff = 300

    * .remote_login_passwordfile = "EXCLUSIVE."

    * .standby_file_management = "AUTO".

    * .undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS1.

    (3) restart db with updated file pfile

    SQLPLUS > create spfile from pfile='/home/oracle/pfile.txt'

    SQLPLUS > the judgment

    SQLPLUS > startup nomount

    (4) restore controlfile

    RMAN > restore primary controlfile to ' / home/oracle/backupset/o1_mf_ncsnf_TAG20151002T133329_c0xq0sgz_.bkp';

    RMAN > change the editing of the database

    (5) all elements of backup catalog

    RMAN > catalog starts by ' / home/oracle/backupset / '.

    (6) restore and recover the database

    RMAN > restore database;

    RMAN > recover database until the SNA XXXXXX; (this YVERT is the maximum in archivelog backups that extends beyond the scn of the backup of the data file)

    (7) open resetlogs

    RMAN > alter database open resetlogs;

    Everything seems perfect, except one of the file log roll forward pending is not generated

    SQL > select * from v$ standby_log;

    ERROR:

    ORA-00308: cannot open archived log ' / oraredo/testdb/stby01.log'

    ORA-27037: unable to get file status

    Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

    Additional information: 3

    no selected line

    I intended to use the same backup to restore primary basic & helps record traffic and the downtime between them in the world of real output.

    So I have exactly the same steps (except STANDBY restore CONTROLFILE and not recover after database restore) to restore the database pending.

    And I got the same missing log file.

    The problem is:

    (1) complete alert.log filled with this error, not the concern here

    (2) now repeat it in real time apply won't work since the Party shall LGWR shows always "WAITING_FOR_LOG."

    (3) I can't delete and re-create this log file

    Then I tried several and found:

    The missing standby logfile was still 'ACTIVE' at present RMAN backup was made.

    For example, on db standby, under Group #4 (stby01.log) would be lost after the restoration.

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

    4 19 ACTIVE 133632

    5 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    6 0 0 not ASSIGNED

    7 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    So until I take the backup, I tried on the primary database:

    SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = delay;

    This was the Group of standby_log side Eve #4 was released:

    SQL > select GROUP #, SEQUENCE #, USE (s), the STATUS from v$ standby_log;

    GROUP # SEQUENCE # USED STATUS

    ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

    4 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    5 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    6 0 0 not ASSIGNED

    7 0 0 UNASSIGNED

    Then, the backup has been restored correctly without missing standby logfile.

    However, to change this primary database means break DataGuard protection when you perform the backup. It's not accept on the production environment.

    Finally, my real questions come:

    (1) what I do may not do on parameter change?

    (2) I know I can re-create the control file to redo before delete and then recreate after. Is there any simple/fast to avoid the standby logfile lost or recreate the lost one?

    I understand that there are a number of ways to circumvent this. Something to keep a copy of the log file waiting restoration progress and copy up one missing, etc, etc...

    And yes I always have done no real-time applies "to the aid of archived logfile" but is also not accept mode of protection of production.

    I just want proof that the design (which is displayed in a few oracle doc Doc ID 602299.1 is one of those) that backs up data backup works effectively and can be used to restore the two site. And it may be without spending more time to resume backups or put the load on the primary database to create the database before.

    Your idea is very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    1--> when I take via RMAN backup, RMAN does not redo log (ORL or SRL) file, so we cannot expect ORLs or SRL would be restored.

    2nd--> when we opened the ORL database should be deleted and created

    3rd--> Expecting, SRL should not be an issue.we should be able to do away with the fall.

    If you do, you can recreate the controlfile without waiting for redo log entry...

    If you still think it's something is not acceptable, you must have SR with support to analyze why he does not abandon SRL when controlfile_type is "underway".

  • Changes of data type of column between the local and remote database

    Please point me the proper documentation, so I can understand what is happening.and how to solve the problem in the short term until we can change the database character set to match the remote database.

    Details:

    Remote database: set of 12 c CARS characters AL32UTF8

    Database local 11g 11.2.0.4 as UTF8 character.

    CREATE TABLE local_table_t AS (SELECT NAME FROM reference_table_t@remotedb)

    the NAME column in reference_table_t to remotedb is varchar2 (10 byte), it creates this column in local_table_t as varchar2 (30 bytes)

    CREATE TABLE local_table2_t AS (SELECT NAME FROM reference_table2_t@remotedb)

    the NAME column in reference_table_t to remotedb is varchar2 (10 char), it creates this column in local_table_t as varchar2 (30 char)

    This same problem also happens with views materialized from the remotedb.

    Thank you

    Dave.

    Found note size double or triple column when using (materialized) views / DEC in a db AL32UTF8 and the dblink pointing to a non-AL32UTF8 db (or vice versa). (Doc ID 1592514.1)

    that answers my question.

  • Call a BI of OAF editor report, then save the PDF output as a BLOB in the database

    Hi all

    I have a requirement to customize the iExpenses page.

    I need to generate a PDF output with the detailed expenditures report when the user clicks on submit button to create an expense report.

    I need to take this pdf file and attach it to the expense report itself (with attachments fnd)

    I have an idea about creating a BEEP report and call it from the OFA.

    Usually, we write the pdf to the outputstream and view the pdf in the browser / to the local machine.

    Can someone send me some code examples to capture this pdf file and write back to the database as a BLOB.

    Thanks in advance.

    Arun...

    You can do it in two phases. Get first the BI Publisher API part works so that it returns the PDF file in the browser. You can see how it is done here:

    https://dineshnair.WordPress.com/2009/06/02/integration-of-XML-Publisher-with-oafgenerating-output-in-PDF-MSWord-MSExcel-and-HTML-format/

    Once you have this work, your code will need to the pdf file in a stream of data that you can then write to a blob in a table. You can see an example of a blob in a table here:

    Inserting BLOB using java for DB2 and Oracle - Stack Overflow

    I hope this helps.

    local disk, I think he was trying to save it in the templates folder.  I changed it to save it on my counter top and it worked.  Rookie mistake.  This had to be the problem.

    Thank you
