saving a PDF form

How to save a PDF form that I filled out online with the information in the form fields?  I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard and recently upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.  With the previous version of Adobe Reader software that I had, I could record forms completed online on my computer.  Last week, it turned out be very useful because I could put in place completed 2007 forms to prove that they had been filed when the site in question has corrupted the forms he had archived.

But with the new version of the player, I'm not able to save the completed form.  I can record a blank version of the form but not such completed form as filed.  I tried to print to a file and print as an image - neither worked.  When I open the online form, he uses the reader not Acrobat; I don't know how to open using Acrobat and I don't know if that would allow me to save it or the other.  I downloaded a previous version of the player (which had been uninstalled when I upgraded to Reader 9) but he did not complete the installation because it has detected the presence of Reader 9.  I make a "Print Screen" and that copied to a Word document, but that is a little pain and is certainly not as easy to read.

I really need to be able to save the completed form and it seems as if Adobe should realize that I'm not just using the free player.  Any suggestions?

Unless forms have been specially activated Acrobat or product side Server (an expensive) you won't be able to save by using Reader. The oldest forms have been activated, but I can't say for sure without having seen one.

Drive by opening the default file is one of the reasons why she has not recommended or supported for Reader and Acrobat installed together on a Windows machine.

Good thing you CAN do is, download the file first, open Acrobat Standard, use file > open to open the form, fill it out and save using the standard. Not perfect, but it works.

  • How do I access check properties after I've already saved the pdf file in Acrobat Pro ms?

    I did a form of a Word document that contains check boxes and text fields.  Acrobat read many but not all of the boxes in the Word document as radio buttons so I changed the check boxes.  When I select them I get a check mark.  The checkboxes that Acrobat originally created to display the box when selected.  I saved the pdf file.  Is there a way to get check box properties menu I can change the boxes to check marks or what I have to start from the new original Word document?

    Hi maclover813 ,

    shoul you can edit each element of single form in Acrobat Pro ms: right click on the element you want to change and modify the properties you want.

  • PDF form: error message on the button to submit the form

    Hi all

    Has joined the forum late last night (late midnight) and I am so grateful for the quick response from many of you

    the questions on the forms PDF which gave me mouth hanging open.

    Here are my recent puzzle:
    Why I get a "this operation is not allowed" when I have my button submit the test form?

    I'm after a video from You Tube to the T:

    All properties > Actions > Mouse Up > Sumbit form > Add: mailto: [email protected] > PDF of the entire Document > OK
    Then I'm saving the document with the new version, opening name to the test drive since my clients will not have Acrobat Pro.

    and several times, continue to receive the error message. And the strange thing is that on previous versions, I'm sure I had it working

    properly at a given time.

    Any help much appreciated.

    It will do when you use a version of the player before 11 reader if the document is not compatible drive. When you send the complete PDF file, it should be saved first, something only 10 player and front normally cannot do. Acrobat and Reader 11/DC do not have this restriction, so that they are able to submit complete PDF forms that have not been activated drive.

  • PDF form coming in the e-mail, but no form fields are filled

    I want to open a full PDF file and not an XML file which is sent when someone fills out a form online.  So, I made a document in Word, saved as a PDF, and then imported into LiveCycle Designer 8.0.  From there on, I created the fields in the form, add a button for the email out because the stock e-mail button does not work properly from what I've read (change the command send, add the e-mail address and change submitted as a PDF file) and save the document.  I then have an open document in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.  Go to advanced and choose enable usage rights in Adobe Reader.  Then save this file under a new name.  Then I can the PDF by e-mail to someone or put it on my site.

    Here's the problem:

    When someone fills out the form, it will automatically send automatically to the correct mailbox (good).  The PDF file opens and the PDF form looks like that I designed this (good).  But all form fields that have been filled... nothing appears. all I see is my PDF (bad) form.  I tried at least a dozen ways over the past two days to create the PDF... but when the received PDF file is opened later, none of the form fields are visible with what someone types in.

    Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  I'm not good at Adobe, but I'm learning.  I can understand most of the things, but this problem is driving me crazy.

    Thank you!

    Thr default iOS or iAnything PDF Viewer does not support on a PDF form fields.

    Without knowledge of the programs and specific systems, it is difficult to answer.

    Overview programme Apple on Macintosh systems is known to have problems with the form, and it corrupts form fields insofar as they do not display the data unless the user is in the field. It is also know to make simple PDFs unreadable.

    There could also be problems with various mail programs because PDF forms contain binary data and not simple text.

  • How to edit PDF form fields after registration

    I am very new for PDF forms and thought I was getting better.  I'm create forms of Word documents and need to make frequent changes to the PDF form after that I have recorded because I'm still learning.  I thought I read somewhere that you should be able to change the properties of a field after saving a copy, but that did not work.  I forgot to uncheck "Ahmed multi field" and the need to set in my text boxes but I can't change.  I continue to recreate the formula over and over again on the Word doc.

    Hi Ally1286,

    Save a copy, it is required to change the form when you have distributed the form or registered as a Reader extended PDF. In this case, if you want to add scrolling functionality to a tool to "Prepare the form" field then go in (in DC) to the title of the Toolbox on the right.

    On this screen, select the file and click Start. Double-click on the field and go to the 'Options' tab check the appropriate box.

    Let me know if it works for you.

    Solved the problem simply uninstall the DC version and stalking a version of X Adobe Reader online and installation. Hey presto, everything fixed. As usual the lesson learned is: if it's not broken, don't fix it "." It happened because I agreed a recommended update. Like so many others, Adobe seems to have problems with the "newer".

    I now put on ' manually search for updates (so-called non recommended) and that's the way it will stay, and I do not seek. Also, if I try in the future, I keep the Setup program in a folder in my downloads, so I can come back easily, where an agency decides to remove older versions of availability.

    I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  Adobe Reader XI has been automatically updated to the Dec 2014 version 11.0.10 MUI. Since then, I am unable to print all newly saved a PDF file, or any of my old PDF I've been printing for years.  I AM able to print PDFs if taken directly from the web and not registered first. • Unable to Type in editable PDF form

    Hi all

    I created a PDF form can be changed using Acrobat Pro. I selected and created the various text boxes on the form. No one is 'Read only' selected.

    I saved the form and opened it with Adobe Reader. At the top of the form, he said "This PDF can be completed using the tool to add text comment". When I select the tool, it is active with a slider. When I click in text boxes/fields, inserting text (I have logs) cursor disappears and is replaced by a selection arrow. That is to say. I'm unable to complete this form.

    Of course, I did something wrong, but I have no idea what.

    Can anyone help please?

    Best regards

    Steve

    Do not use the tool to add text comment, as it is to add comments to a PDF document, and not to fill a text field.

    If you are using a version of reader earlier than XI, you need allow Reader users to complete the form. In Acrobat 8 Pro, it is advanced > enable usage rights in Reader.

    If you have Reader XI, you need not to do.

    When I fill out a form using XI Acrobat pro and then save it with the same name or a different name and try opening it again, it is empty.  I can't us the quick print function, and it will actually show the information I thought I saved.  But if I open it up it still shows once empty.  Any ideas?

    RebeccaFlameLily,

    This problem occurs when the application Preview on a Mac is used to complete the forms. It is well known preview corrupt PDF files in a number of ways, and absolutely avoid when using PDF Forms. The damage it does to a document cannot be repaired, but you can open the form in Acrobat corrupted, export the form data (in FDF or XFDF file) and import back into a blank form. Then inform your users to use Adobe Reader and not preview.

  • PDF forms have problems displaying text and only appears when the field is selected

    Hello

    I created pdf forms to be distributed to the clients of the company. But we have some people complain about the visibility of the text. When they work as a team, the pdf they receive from a third party often appears limes or no text, the text is only visible when the field is selected. I need to find a solution for this, because our company's products are based on this form.

    If there is any information addition that I must add to understand what is happening and how to fix it, I'll be happy to write it.

    In society, we all have mac and forms where innitially created in Adobe acrobat 9 pro, but we now have Adobe acropabt pro XI.

    Users of Mac and Windows systems.

    Thank you

    This is usually caused by the form is filled out and saved by a Mac user who uses the preview application to view the PDF file. More information is here: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/885/cpsid_88564.html

    It's a good idea to inform your users that Adobe Reader (or Acrobat) should be used to work with Forms.

  • Change options of text fields PDF form open in the PLAYER on a Mac.

    I created a PDF using Adobe X PRO form. All fields are DISABLED for the Options/Properties / "scroll long text. I save and distribute the form as a "reader extended pdf/activate additional features' so can be saved and returned using the PLAYER.

    When a Mac user opens the form in Adobe READER, ALL text fields change to scroll. When he returned the form for me, each text field, signing even and fields date, are modified to scroll the text.

    What happens during the transition from PC to MAC?

    Preview is the default on Mac PDF Viewer. It should never be used with PDF Forms. Let them know that they must use Adobe Reader. Provide a link or a URL where it can be downloaded and let them know that it's free.

    There are things you can do to make it work not in the preview, but it's some scripts. If you are interested in this approach, post again.

  • Print in PDF form button.

    Dear all,

    I created a PDF form with a button which save and print the pdf.

    The code is fallow:

    Formular1. #pageSet [0]. Seite1.Bildfeld1::click - (JavaScript, client)

    var Mailto = """[email protected]'; '.

    var Vacancies = Textfeld1.rawValue;

    var Message = "Dies ist eine Telefonnotiz\r2. Line yesterday';

    var CC = "[email protected]";

    var BCC = "[email protected]";

    var Mail = "mailto:"Mailto + + "? Subject =" + + vacancies"& Body =" + + message '& cc =' + + CC '& bcc =' + CCB;

    1. event.target.submitForm({)

    cURL: Mail

    : false, bEmpty

    cSubmitAs: "PDF".

    });

    1. event.target.closeDoc (true); (FormClac)

    Formular1. #pageSet [0]. Seite1.druckenschaltflache1::click - (JavaScript, client)

    1. XFA. Host.Print (1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages 1) m:System.NET.SocketAddress.ToString (), 0 0 0, , , , 0 0);

    now, my problem is that, with this script, I can print and save the file, even if all the required fields are not filled. I donot person to have the ability to print the file or save it unless it fill in all fields.
