sbRIO-9651 reference Carrier Board specifications

There are a little info on the reference card included in the SDK of SOM within the document http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/376960a.pdf, but it does not say for example what are the power requirements for the Board of Directors.

I put such a kit in a test area and do not want to use the power supply that came with it. I'm looking for the tolerances of the Executive Board to see what other feeds I can use. I can match the properties of the standard provision of course and it's probably what I'll do, but I expect to be able to go a little outside this range...

Hi MTO.

The PCB for the reference carrier has a silkscreen label that refers to the necessary high input power:

9 - 16V, 25W.  The documentation for the reference carrier is deliberately light because it is not designed or put on trial for the deployed systems.  The carrier of reference exclusively to the assessment office.

See you soon,.

  • specifications of clock sbRIO-9651 SoM FPGA fabric.

    Hello

I would like to know the following specifications about the clock (clock of fabric) FPGA of the NOR sbRIO-9651 SoM:

    -Precision (ppm)
    -Aging (ppm/year)
    -Temperature (ppm / ° C)
    -Skew (ppm)

I couldn't find anything related to this in the specification document.

Is it possible to use an external clock to repalce this one if the specification does not meet our requirement? This clock would be managed by a Board of business custom.

    Thank you

    Michel

    Michel,

The accuracy of the clock is ±50 ppm. You can use an external clock as a source for single-cycle timed loops. The first logical level - things outside SCTLs - is still controlled by the internal oscillator at 50 ppm, but logically or e/s who needs a different precision can be placed in a SCTL and use the external clock. There is some good information on how to import a clock on our developer community material for NI Single-Board RIO and module system. Remember that the quantity of resources used and their frequency toggle will have an impact on the overall jitter of your system.

    Thank you

  • sbRIO-9651 IO corresponding length

We plan to interface high speed ADC (1gech/s x8bit) that uses a wide interface LVDS (two samples) from 16-bit to a sbRIO-9651.  Is there a resource that provides information about the sbRIO-9651 module layout details as worst case length offset series in differential pairs and between differential pairs that exist on the module (independent of our own layout of the Board of Directors)?

Since the interface use a common differential clock and wide 16-bit interface, I'm trying to get a sense tilt the worst case there might be between pairs differential seperatate.

I can they use sheet date architecting to get an idea of the maximum transfer rate, but are there restrictions on the module itself that will limit rates date?

    Hi abadobid,

The SbRIO-9651 manual specifications (table 8) should have the details of length sur-module trace info you are looking for.

In addition, I recommend reading the Design Guide for the SOM carrier for detailed techniques, guidelines and requirements for the design of carrier card.

  • Modulation Toolkit screws sbRIO-9651

    Hi all
I try to help solve some difficulties with my current developments of the LV.
Currently, I am working on implementing some transmission of packets using sbRIO-9651 interfaced with a programmable TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER. Unfortunately, a few screws (Resample(complex_cluster).vi MT and MT demodulate PSK.vi) run on the sbRIO. These screws are part of the LV modulation toolkit and some dll which fail to load into the sbRIO due to their incompatibility with the platform OR Linux RT-dependent.
Anyone know of workarounds. Any help or suggestion would be welcome.

    Thank you very much.

    Bachir

    Bachir,

Is it possible for you to open a DMA FIFO or some other form of data flow of the sbRIO to the host?

A suggestion I have for her resample VI is to use the button Reechantillonner VI, who hails from LabVIEW.  I can't confirm that this will work on the sbRIO, but you can try.

The nice thing about the modulation toolkit is that most are open to be viewed by the user.  In addition, most of the code is written in LabVIEW.  (Not very easily), you could look at the code and try to reproduce them in a fashion that will focus on the sbRIO.  You may even be able to find the place where there is no call to a DLL and try to eliminate these dependencies.

Is there a specific reason to use the sbRIO rather than a RIO USRP?

  • sbRIO-9651: FPGA RS-485 baud rate 230400 beyond? Error-1073807330

I use a sbRIO-9651 and drop the CLIP of FPGA in "Other devices" it shows six Serial1 serial ports... Serial6. The first four are described as "RS-232 serial Port" and the two last "RS-485 Serial Port".  On Serial6 (RS-485), I have configured the TX, RX and TX pins activate.

In my .vi on real time, I put my "VISA set up a Serial Port (Instr) .vi" with a baud rate. A works 115200 or 230400 baud rate, but the pace I want to use (256000) generates a run-time error.  "Error-1073807330 VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001E) the State specified, the attribute is not valid or is not supported as defined by the resource."

I suspect the FPGA hardware is capable of 256 Kbps, but I know that if it is a fundamental limitation of the NI UART IP block, or some places I have to change to allow a wide range of transmission speeds (?)

    Hello

The maximum rate for these serial ports is 230 400 bps, so there is a limitation on the connection of the UART.  In the manual, you will find more specific information if you need it!  http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/376962c.PDF#page=8

  • sbRIO 9651 SoM Unique Identification UID

    Dear Almighty LabVIEWers,

our test system I intend using several units of SoM as a control bodies, for this I want to assign the IP address dynamically.

For our current system, we use the UID - the chip inside the CPU and a CRC-32 128-bit in order to get a unique MAC address and generate UID then address IP of this.

My question is: is it possible to get a UID of a hardware component inside the sbRIO 9651?

If not, has anyone had an experience store values to the NAND Flash as a value just read?

    Help is highly appreciated!

    Dear SerjsVIEW

Do you intend to replace the MAC address of a NETWORK card?

There is no special UID-piece in the SOM to which you have access.

What you can do is to access information system with the 'API Configration system'. There you get information such as ProductID, SerialNumber, product name, MAC address of the NETWORK card.

    I hope that helps you.

  • USB to Serial Port Adapter

Hi, my laptop is not a serial port.

If I want to connect to some hardware using RS-232, RS-485, CANBUS etc, will I have problems using a serial USB adapter?

When I was programming PIC microcontrollers, we were told not to use adapters to program the PIC. I found this a little confusing because the signal from the adapter must be identical to what would come of a serial port. I don't know what is the reason.

Are there any known issues using a serial USB with hardware adapter (specifically the sbRIO-9651 reference carrier I use and also just in general) or I would be fine to use it?

I have a box of NI USB - 232 which will stop working.  Not sure if it's a loop of mass or something with signals through it, but... Yes, they didn't last real long in my experience.  (It was years ago, I sent a bunch of back, don't know if improvements have been made since that time.)

IOGear GUC-232 has and from SILabs CP2102/MAX3232 work well for me. never had a problem with those.  Anything FTDI is solid, beware fake chips with this manufacturer.

7Fh has a HID-UART chip available (CP2110), which works well on machines that have restricted permissions for driver installation.

  • After a sort cell reference problem

    Hello

I've never used excel or numbers before but I now have, so my problem would come more trivial to most of you.

    Please bare with me:

I do a sheet inventory and cost and a few sheets of recipes that refer to the old (inventory)

I want to multiply say the amount of necessary thyme in my recipe by its cost unit I keep in the inventory cards (I can then modify next change of market prices). Everything works well, but once I have start the sorting inventory cards, cell references are messed up that they remain locked up giving a result based on the new item which is now on this line, instead of after the sorting and always give me the calculation related to the unit cost of thyme.

Thank you much for the help!

So far, the results are what I was looking for, but

say I have sort products by names (or any kind of sorting)

the formula now references the cost of yuzu that ended instead of the wheat toast all the

I just thought he would follow the sorting and still give me the cost of the toast.

    Hi YLWT,

I had a few difficulties to read on your screen shots, because they understood the entire screen and were reduced in size and resolution when it is inserted here.

To take a picture of PART of the screen:

    • Place the mouse pointer in the upper-left corner of the area you want to include.
    • Press shift-command-4 (the tip will change to a focus)
    • Press the mouse button and drag a selection box to reach the area that you want to include.
    • Release the button.
    • The screenshot will be saved to a file .png on your desktop with the name "screen shot to date at the time.png '.

As can be seen below, the result, dragged here or inserted using the camera above composition window icon, is much easier to read.

I did partial copies of one of the dinner tables and the table of the inventory, including only data (composed for the unit price) to the question in the present case. Table 1 gives the meal table, Table 2 is the inventory table. The formula is displayed in the editor, the first table below.

The first part of the formula is a switch that removes the calculation on this line if no entry is made in column C (quantity). When an entry has been made, IF passes control to the party from C x...

VLOOKUP Gets the search for value in column A of table 1, the search in the left column of the table (columns A to D of table 2) and returns the value in the same row of column 10 as she concludes the research-for value. The returned value is multiplied by the value in column C (table 1), and the result placed in the cells that contain the formula.

That the formula does not rely on the reference to a specific cell, it will survive a sort of inventory table that place the ingredient (as well as its unit price) in a different line of this table. Example below:

Copy and paste version of the formula. Note that you need to change "Table 2" in "Table 2::A:J" to match the name of your table in the inventory.

    IF (Len (C) < 1, "", C × VLOOKUP (, 2::A:J Table, 10, FALSE) ")

Enter the first cell on your dining table where a cost is calculated, then fill until the last cell before the footer line.

    Kind regards

  • array element references confused me

Then... I'm playing with references to arrays, specifically references to items in a table.

It seems that I should be able to read the value of the table, but because of how I am tying TestStand and LabVIEW, I am trying to create a utility that automatically obtain data back between the LV and TS, where the types of data passed back are completely unknown and, possibly, paintings of beams that have tables nested clusters.

I try to walk the LV data structure and reference TestStand and get the right data.  However, I can't seem to be able to use references to point to specific elements of a table - see example I expect the high and the low code works the same, but they do not.

Any suggestions on what I do wrong to get the top and bottom to work the same?

    Ravens fan wrote:

Property of the array element node gives you a reference to the element that makes up the table.  So if you set the properties of a digital control maybe to change the color or display format.

Is not a way to get or set the value of a specific array element.  To set a particular array element, you must use replace table subset.  To get the value of a particular array element, you use table to index.

Indexvalues property node is used to determine which is the first item that appears.  It changes the value of the indexer the upper left corner of the table.

One thing I noticed that I don't know if I knew before, it was this setting the property value on the reference of array element, node will have an impact on the first element of visible table.  If you turn the highlight performance and play with array index, while it is running, you will see that the resulting table will be different.

Although it IS possible, you can not do after seeing what it takes.

We can get the value of an array element that is in a control or indicator provided it it the upper left display element.

This nugget exploits that factand see how it can be done. Note: I have not tested this code lately so I don't know if NEITHER broke this behavior since the writing of this nugget.

  • How to determine the strict reference to the table of waveform

    Hello

I want to change the properties of a waveform by programming. I used to get all references maps of waveform a function of range in my script VI VI. Then I typecasted references to more specific class (strict-single track) after this trial I was able set properties such as data history. Everything works fine but if I add a graphic that is multiplot, that this approach does not work.

The problem is that in the table of references, there is reference to a graph in multiplot waveform, and this reference is not possible typcast to the more specific category (strict-single parcel).

My question is: how to determine if the reference in the table is matching the proper waveform (single or multiplot) charts.

In the VI attached is a code that demonstrates my problem.

Thanks a lot for the replies

    Jan

Thank you for advice. VI point 2 from your answer, I created and it works. The solution is attached.

If I understand it correctly. I need to know the type of chart to come.

My first idea was to create a VI in Drop that initializes all the graphics of VI on chart type independently.

But this solution is fine because I will only use graphics-single plot and multiplot(two elements).

  • Q reference count

Is there a way to tell how many references to a specific named Q have been attributed?  For example, if an application uses the Queue.vi get three times to create the queue that is referenced by, I would like to be able to query the number of active queues (for this unique name) that have been created.

    Thank you

    -cb

I am sure that you can not get this information.

Instead, you can limit the creation and waste out of the queue to a manager of VI, which will also keep track of the arbitrators, but nothing prevents someone else, unless you wrap all interactions with the queue in a class.

  • Reference to Illustrations

    Hello, colleagues

I have problem with the help of references to illustrations on FM and PDF documents (I use TC 5, so therefore FrameMaker 12.02.389 is active). Always the same problem exists for FrameMaker 11 of the TCS 4.

    Steps to follow:

    1. I created a paragraph Style to apply to the legends of the figures. Suppose that it's called "Figure_Caption".
    2. I apply this style for each caption.
    3. I place the legend of each illustration AS an illustration.
    4. Then, I create cross-references to figures required by this paragraph style using existing 'Figure_Caption '.
    5. Create a PDF file.

Problem: The reference almost works. However, PDF file, it shows the 'legend' at the top of the target page. In other words, even the target figure is located in the middle of the page, a legend is displayed at the top. Reader must scroll a page in order to see the target figure itself. It annoys me and our customers.

    Expected results:

I expect that clicking on a reference to a specific illustration (like "see Figure 4.1...") Opens the picture, not a legend.

    Additional information:

    1. I know that place a legend an illustration above will solve the problem, but is not a result that our client expects.
    2. The same problem occurs when I convert such document FM HR and then generate WebHelp and WebHelp Pro.

All the world is facing this problem? Are there any 'by default' you know from Adobe or from your own experience of solutions?

    Thanks in advance

    > I wonder if there is another solution that I have no idea.

Not really. FM cannot Xref for something else of the Xref markers that can be placed in the text stream (not even in the text of the chart).

When people want to hyperlink to a graphic, they use blocks of text, either in front of or behind the chart (and behind normally implies a confidence that the image is opaque in the preview and the final rendering).

If I wanted the target of an Xref legend for graphics, I would put the legend (or a clone of it) on the top of the chart using a color scheme to the invisible by color seen at render time. Give him a unique tag of Pará, such as Caption.Invisible

Frame of the chart invisible text may contain only:

    • a reference in paragraph text, the real legend below the art
    • a marker Xref, created automatically when you create the reference see / refer - to the Caption.Invisible in the adjoining story

Any changes made to the legend is made to the text always visible below and is repeated automatically by the invisible clone.

To set up additional work. Easy to maintain. Which means, typical FM.

  • myRIO differential LVDS signaling

The myRIO can be configured to read or write songs by LVDS signaling?

    Hi hkhalili,

The myRIO-1900 and myRIO-1950 only have single-ended DIO. Currently, if you have need of LVDS signaling and have a background in hardware design, the sbRIO-9651 has two LVDS input and output capacity. The sbRIO-9651 is a system on Module (SOM) and requires the development of a carrier Board of things like supplying electricity but also out the requested OID for your request.

The sbRIO-9651 is definitely a notch above in the flexibility and the configuratbility of a product of RIO, but it also comes with a learning curve and more steep development.
