sbrio9636 error VISA-1073807202

Hello

I have a sbRIO9636 and test instruments. I want to just connect sbRIO and test instruments (with RS-232).

I am trying to connect RS232 (9 pin) via serial ports... I also Measurement & Automation Explorer (version 5.1) to monitor and configure the series/parallel connections.

The problem is that when I have a request, it seems that my device is not correctly recognized. I get errors of expiry.  VISA-1073807202 error. But when I connect Test instruments directly to the PC, NEITHER Max shows COM 1 and can get the data from the trial instrumnets. This means I can get the data from the PC, but I can't do the same with sbRIO9636.

How can I make sure that my device is correctly recognized? My COM1 port is enabled at all? I don't see COM Port NI Max for sbRIO9636.

Thank you!

Hey, Kellydog

It is a Ko what VISA-1073807202 error.

    Hello everyone,

I have several issues with the VISA 5.0.3 and LabVIEW 2010 SP1, and I don't know if or how they are related, so I'll post as much information as I have here. Please excuse the super post long, just trying to be thorough.

Error BFFF009E (same as 1073807202 I think) appears to the MAX aperture as seen in attached ss1. When you try to open the VISA Interactive Control (IC), I get the message "failed to initialize the library VISA. The VISA interactive control utility will leave. "When I open any VI with a VISA resource and try to click the drop down arrow on the right to see the resources available, the arrow remains derpessed during a second, no field drop-down list is displayed, and then it returns to its original blank State. These problems all live together now, but before I could select BT VISA resources and use VISA IC, while I have always seen the error MAX.

I tried to fix VISA, as well as VISA uninstall-reinstall 5.0.3 which I believe is the most recent version. No change. I also checked that visa32.dll exists as suggested in the article below. See systeminfo.txt attached to the installed software.

This error seems to be related to an oscilloscope Tektronix DPO 2014 I connected via USB (or maybe something to do with TekVISA?). By this I mean that if the scope was connected when my computer started, this error occurs. When the field is not connected at startup, I don't see the same problems as above. Instead, I get...

Error 1073807343 (BFFF0011) when you run a VI with a VISA resource to a serial device (see ss2), or connecting to the device in IC of VISA (see ss3). I also always see the error of BFFF009E to the MAX, but not the other problems on front. I can connect to these serial devices in hyperterminal and communicate very well here. Seems similar to the post below and also, I can't find visaconf.ini, but the solution does not apply as I LV 2010. In addition, ironically, I use VISA very well talk to the scope (whether to the MAX or LV) via USB if I connect after booting.

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/instrument-control-GPIB-serial/using-HP34401A-in-LabVIEW-yields-error-code-1...

I use series of USB adapters made by Ultra (http://mail.ultraproducts.com/product_resources.php?cPath=35&pPath=782&productID=782 ) to go from instruments of series to my USB ports and the computer I'm unfortunately has no serial ports to be tested with, nor do I have another brand of the adapter. I know these converters can sometimes be a VISA problem, but I was certainly with it even without problem before.

They that all seem to have intermittent problems, because I have seen both before as I have developed and pushed to go to strange as things exchanging (apparently identical) USB extension cables or restart a dozen times. This issue has been driving me crazy for weeks, I am looking for help to try to solve it finally.

    Thank you

I think I got especially. Looks like it was TekVISA who got in the way, and if Visa32.dll was in the right place, it appeared (in properties > details) as the version of Tektronix, not the version of LabVIEW. After you have uninstalled all Tektronix as well as NI-VISA, he had disappeared, but no money to install or repair NI-VISA would be replaced by a version of LabVIEW Visa32.dll.

However, with the help of the article from the link below, I discovered that the repair of the installation of the driver NI-VISA DURATION is what replaces Visa32.dll, as opposed to NO-VISA just as messages of error and other links seemed to suggest.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/B283196340462DFD86257633006DC799

Now all the VISA stuff works again, except of course for the scope of Tektronix. I'll keep this battle for the future. Guess I just needed to talk to myself for a while.

  • How to hit continue automatically when error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0016) presents itself?

    Hi all

I am an experience which interacts with a frequency Agilent generator automatically vary the frequency and read data with a detector, this program works perfectly when I sweep the frequency to great not, so I leave long experiments to do night when I get home, but the next day there is an error that says:

VISA: VISA (Hex 0xBFFF0016) driver failed to properly close the reference object or session. This could be due to a mistake releasing internal or operating system resources, a network connection has failed, or a lower level driver or OS.

and give me the chance to continue or stop, if I press on continue, the program keeps works well but sometimes I can't be all the time to be press continues. It is an easy way to cancel this error or say automatically continue if this happens?

For the nuclear option, you could use the errors clear vi in range of dialogue & User Interface. This is not good. It is best to clear the error only if it's a cause you trouble. But just blindly compensation of errors is as close my eyes and pretend that all is well. It is sometimes.

I have a serial device that sometimes gives errors, but if I try it will work again. I've created a code to erase and start over up to a defined number of times then give up and returns the following error.

See the attached "Retry on error.vi.

  • Serial communication error VISA with LUDL stage controller

    Hello

I'm trying to control a micro-positionnement made by Ludl stage. The model is Ludl MAC2000. It seems that the RS232 comunnication is implemented because I can talk to the controller using HyperTerminal. However, when I want to do the same thing through Labview, I can't answer the controller at all. The vi is roughly the same as the visa basic read/write in the example. Looks like a very similar problem in this post:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/instrument-control-GPIB-serial/visa-serial-communication-problem/m-p/567065#...

But the trick of nature of endpoint does not help in my case: I tried to toggle the termination character setting in the property node and different combinations of '\r', '\n' as termination characters, but nothing has worked so far.

Seems to me there is some difference between the interpretations of the same order to Hyper Terminal in Labview. But I just can't understand what it could be.

Anyone with a similar experience could give me some comments/suggestions? Thank you very much!

Another difference between hyperterminal and labview is the speed of sending characters.

LabVIEW breaks out the whole string to the controller

HyperTerminal is this character by character. So much slower and slow the controller can be affected by this.

You could add a loop around the writing of visa (to make it easy convert the string into a byte array outside of the loop and convert it to a string inside and you have a shipment char by char in LabVIEW

  • LabVIEW is not able to extract data from a HP4194A and gives me the error code 1073807202.

I'm trying to get a graph of the impedance of a capacitor of the HP4194A to my laptop and use one or GPIB-USB-HS connection. I downloaded the latest drivers and am using LabView 8.2. Initially I thought it was a connection problem because demand measurement and automation could find the HP4194A, but he has not answered the * IDN? query. However, the HP4194A responded to the ID of the request? which I found by looking at the user manual. What else should try to get the data I need?

    Thank you

The HP4194A is an old instrument, and as such, it is not unusual for ancient instruments to does not implement does not the SCPI standard commands. Therefore, to have "ID?" instead of "* IDN? That said, what driver do you use? Is this? When you say that you aren't able to pull data, please be more descriptive. Are you an error? If so, what is it? What screws do you use? Do you use an example VI? If so, which? We are not mind readers, don't forget.

  • VISA Read Timeout error when using stream protocol BUS

    Hello

I currently use the BUS Flow for a MFC Protocol and I get a time-out error VISA Read:

Error 1073807339 occurred at VISA read in Send Setpoint.VI-> test.vi

    Possible reasons:

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

I extracted the part of the code and it attached to this message. Basically, whenever I hit OK to send a VISA just read set value times out. I tried to use the sub VI who is responsible to send the set value and it was fine (when manually, I copied and pasted the ASCII codes) but when I run the global function it times out.

    Any help is appreciated

    Thank you

If you have a command string or a constant you enter a \r\n in, you MUST have '-' Codes view turned on in order to enter the actual control characters. If you enable "\" Codes to display and see \\r\\n, then you have used Normal display to enter the characters.

  • 1456 CVS - VISA error connection problems?

    Hello

I bought a new unit 1456 of old stock, put CVS to update its bios and all the software and will have questions, operate without errors.  It is connected to a Point gray Flea2 640 x 480 camera.  I use Vision Builder for Automated Inspection 4.0 (trial for now, the full version is on order).  Here is a description of the problem.

    1. I can see and connect to the camera via VB for AI or MAX.

    2. There is an error VISA to the MAX with the camera:

    0XBFFF00A8 (VI_ERROR_NPERMISSION)

viFindRsrc return 0xBFFF00A8 (access to the resource or the remote machine is denied. This is due to the lack of sufficient privileges for the current user or machine).

Please check the settings of the remote machine and make sure that you added the computer's network address to the whitelist.

    Possible causes of this error:

    1. the remote machine, you access didn't you leave granted.

    2. the remote machine, you access you refused permission to access its resources.

    3. you may have configured your server with a specific IP address and set up your client computer to different IP address rather than the computer name (IE, the client IP address is assigned by a DHCP server).

    3. all software appear to be up-to-date.

    4. There is also one uninstalled OR-IMAQdx with a component IEEE 1394.  Currently installed is NOR-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 2.0.5.  When both are installed, the camera is listed twice.  Which of these is best, or necessary, or both are needed?

    5. the error when I create a new acquisition in VB to HAVE.  I can well access the camera, capturing images and change the settings.  As soon as I try and run the inspection (which brings me to register the program in the unit of 1456), program errors, the inspection does not and does not allow me to acquire new images of the camera until the unit of 1456 has been restarted (reopening the program does not help).

    6. the error that appears after trying a purchase of the aircraft of 1456 is:

    ---------------------------

    Inspection open error

    ---------------------------

The validation of inspection returns errors. Possible reasons include:

-Some image files used by acquiring simulate steps are not available on the remote target.

Save the image folder 'c:\User Images' folder on the target.

-The screws used by LabVIEW enforcement measures are not available on the remote target.

Save the screw or LLBs in the folder 'c:\User screws' on the remote target.

-A few steps of inspection are not supported on this goal.

-Inspection step on the target plugins are missing or damaged.

    Details:

State: Inspect - step 1: 'Acquire picture (IEEE 1394) 1' could not be initialized.

This problem has been resolved.  Apparently the 1456 dislikes Point Grey Flea2 color cameras, but it works very well with mono 8 - bit counterparts.  Thank you
    Tom

  • potential problems with executable files using VISA

Hi, I have a LV 2012 SP1 source code developed under Windows 7. The source code uses VISA for serial communication. I built from this source code executables that work without problems on a PC with Windows 7.
Now I use Windows 8 and build the executables from the same source code, I have used before. However, when you use the new executables (under Windows 8) on the same PC with Windows 7 as before, I get an error in the communication of VISA.

The error is: property node (arg 1) in .vi VISA set up a Serial Port (Instr)

Once again: 1. executables built under Windows 7 work on a PC under Windows 7

    2. executables built under Windows 8 will not work on a Windows 7 PC (error VISA)

the source code is the same

Suggestions, which could be at the origin of this are most welcome.

An EXE that uses the VISA must be the VISA installed runtime.  It is like not having not drivers for your program.  Create a Setup program using the similar project about how you made an EXE file.  Include the exe in the installation program and under additional installers choose the software that is required by the EXE.  This will usually include the runtime LabVIEW and VISA.  From 2013 the additional installers will try to predict the software needed by the EXE.

  • VISA: Insufficient location information (Hex 0xBFFF0011)

    Hello

I'm trying to connect my power meter Ophir Vega to Labview. I have 8.1 of windows OS, labview 2013 32bits and VISA 5.4.1.
However, when I try to initialize the instrument, I get an error "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) insufficient location information...". ». I can see the device in measurement and Automation Explorer.

Everything works fine with the same electricity meter on Labview 8.2 and VISA 5.2 on windows XP 32-bit machine.  I tried to disable application signature of driver of windows on windows 8.1 - no luck. Any suggestions? I'm now download an older version of VISA.

PS Sorry for the bold text, I don't know why I can't change it.

I managed to do work, just need to change the ' Fract/exp chain to value' 'use point decimal system' false.

Thanks for the help and goodwill.

  • Need help to test the VISA interactive Control: Sorensen XBT32 - 3FTP USB connection problem

    Hello

I use Windows 7. I installed the USB driver provided in this link:http://www.sorensen.com/products/XBT/XBT_Downloads.htm.

Max is on the ASRL5: COM5 series & parallel in the Device Manager it is listed in the port: COM5

I don't know how to test using VISA interactive control to ensure that the connection is established.

    Here are the parameters:

    Serial settings:

    Baud rate: 38400,

    Data bits: 8

    Stop bits: 1

    Parity: None

I use the default settings for the other options such as flow control: none, Timeout = 2000ms etc.

    In the attributes view tab:

    Attribute: is the connected port

Current value: error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) the specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.

    I don't know if it's important.

When I write * IDN? \n (bytes to read: 6), I return the Count: 6 bytes

When I click on "Read Status Byte":, I get the following error:

Error reading STB operation VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF003A) cannot start the operation because the installer is not valid (because of attributes defined in an inconsistent state).

If I click on "Query", I get the following error: reading operation error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

I also tried to create USB raw driver help driver of VISA Assistant. In this case I kept getting timeout errors: read operation error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you.

Who cares about the number of bytes written? And configure the windows com port is not relevant. What is important is how you set the com port in the VI or max.

  • VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF003A) using a RS232 USB converter

Hi, I'm reading a pH meter and it is connected to my computer by USB using a USB RS232 converter. NOR-MAX recognizes the instrument, but when I try to play the instrument in the testpanel I timeout error. When I read the status byte, it gave me the following error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF003A) cannot start the operation because the installer is not valid (because of attributes defined in an inconsistent state). I looked in the attributes and saw the following error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) the specified attribute is not defined or supported by the resource referenced. the pH meter is a unit of office of simpel with the following characteristics: baud rate 9600 8 data bits years 1 stop only bit no control flow or parity.

Why try to read the status byte? It is not an instrument based GPIB is?

What attribute? I asked in your original post to attach a screenshot of MAX. Why should someone have to guess? I suspect this attribute doesn't apply to serial devices OR and is not relevant to try to read the status byte.

Check if you are using the right type of cable and check to see if you add the correct end character. You also do not mention if you write what whether in port or just do a reading. You mention also the seller or the model number of the meter.

My computer was reset the network settings on the Proxy Server. I scanned a zero access Root using McAfee antivirus, but it said that I own.

I can't install the update of windows (KB2847927) security. I get the error code 80070005. I also get error 1068 and error 5 when trying other solutions online.

Recently, I uninstalled my suite McAffee Virus in order to add a new (do not have) but am not sure if this is the source of the problems. Do not remember if this took place the same day or a later version.

You can try to follow the following suggestions to solve the problem with firewall errors and problems of scanning of SFC.

Run the disk check to find and fix errors on the disc.

    (a) click Start, type cmd, right click on cmd and click run as administrator.

    (b) at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press to enter.

  • USB RS232 "is connected Port" "invalid property value".

I'm quite new to this so if all the below is not clear or needs more explanation Let me know and I will try to provide information.

I'm trying to integrate a device in my LabView program. Of its guides, that I could find on the site OR mentioned most NI MAX goes first and then working them down. My camera is an RS232 port, so I connected via a USB converter, and I know that I'm looking at the right port (COM5) to look at the section "manage devices" on the control panel.

All series settings are set up properly, I would say (the user manual ishere, with 17 being the party and my setup herepage). I tried to test commands, he gave me on the input/output section, but constantly came up with the error "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete." Initially, I thought I entered orders incorrectly, I find instructions in the manual that is confused, especially compared to the things other users have posted on orders ('\r' and '\n' instead of what I am told to write, but I agree that mine are not always literal characters).

But when I went back to "Display attributes" connected "East Port" final attribute has an error with the "invalid property value" and the warning Hex 0xBFFF001Derror. Because of my inexperience with all this, I don't know where to start really trying to solve this problem, or what measures are in place, I need to do to start working properly.

All advice is appreciated. Thank you

The property "is connected" is only for devices of NOR so if you have another brand of converter, you would ignore the error.
