Scanner and printer of HP Photosmart c309a

My wife and I are both using iMacs. It is Mountain Lion running, I'm running the Mavericks.

I checked the updates and we run all the current software.

We have both access the printer using bluetooth.

A week ago, we both noticed that the SCAN option disappeared from the Photosmart c309a system pref window.

I tried to delete the printer, rebooting and then reinstall the printer, the problem remains.

Attempt to analysis the computer to the printer display panel results in a message on the printer saying "start the Scanner from the computer" as it has always done.

Print still works fine, so I don't think it's a problem of bluetooth.

Can't find the answers in the support forum.

    Someone at - it ideas

    Hi Hellsfish,

This would mean that there is a hardware failure in the machine, but only with the wireless radio. As you know, the printer works still but not wireless. You can certainly still connect via Ethernet or USB for printing and scanning capabilities well.

  • Scan option disappeared: C7280 Mac OS 10.7 Lion

I replaced my router (old: Cisco, new: Airport Extreme) and had to change the C7280 being on the net without wire itself to be plugged into the Airport Extreme router via USB.

I had a lot of trouble to add the queue for the C7280 to my printing & scanning options: HP does not offer driver downloads for it and Apple said there was no software available for this. I finally got the added thing and print works very well.

It is, however, now no option available for the C7280 scan. Not at all, not in the preview, and not in the print queue. Nowhere else.

I have to be able to scan directly from my computer. How to bring back this feature? How can I make sure add and configure this all-in-one in these circumstances?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Of Airport Extreme USB port provides print sharing only, it does not have any capabilities scan:

    http://www.Apple.com/airportextreme/features/printing.html

In order to obtain full functionality, make sure you connect the USB device directly to the Mac or using an Ethernet or Airport Extreme wireless.

Then, go into System Preferences > print & scanning.

Delete the existing queue and click on the Plus sign to add the printer, it appears as the USB or Hello for the network connection.

Make sure to install HP was last updated by clicking the Apple icon, then software updated.

Please let me know of any questions,

  • Scanning options disappeared with Windows Installer 8.1

Recently bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1.  Finally managed to get my PhotosmartPlus B209 connected so it'll print and scan.  On my old laptop, when I scanned it pictures, there was a lot of options to choose from before that I did the actual analysis: several images, resize, rotate, resolution, color correction, to name a few.  Now, on the only option I have is the resolution and can only scan a whole page - not many images.  What Miss me?  What should I do to get all my previous options available?  Added note, I had to change my PhotoImpact 12 PhotoShop elements like my photo editor.

Found my own answer.  HP tools for scanning only works on the TWAIN compatible devices.  Photoshop has a plugin option that does not install automatically.  Once I found and copied into the correct plug-ins folder, everything works again.

  • Cannot scan directly to HP Officejet 6700

How to scan directly to my printer Office jet HP6700? I can scan to my iMac, but the resulting image is a bit fuzzy and prints the blur.  I tried to Capture of Image, but he says no. Document charge... when there is a document on the glass bed. Thank you

Hi I might be able to help on your problem.

Your problem is that the "No. Document loaded" message even if you have a document in the glass. Maybe the settings in the image capture is updated with document feeder. In the screenshot, click on the "Show details" button and check the scan Mode. In scan mode, there are 2 selections Documetn Feeder and flat. If you want to scan using glass, so choose flat. If you want to use the ADF, select document feeder. I hope this helps.

Please let me know the results.

Since I upgraded my computer to Windows 10, I'm unable to use my scan on my HP Officejet 6700 Premium function.  I can't even open the scan dialog box to look at the options etc.  I tried to find 'Scanner and printer' in painting, but it does not recognize.  Any suggestions?  I already deleted the printer and re-installed.  It was working fine before on Windows 8.

I have a HP Officejet 6700 Premium.  I use a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks.  The printer is connected to my wireless network.  When I scan from the printer itself and send it to my wireless computer, scans will be saved in the folder "Images".  How can I change where scanned files are sent continuously to?  I have a calle "My Scans" folder on my desktop thaty I would like that all my scans to get sent to.  I can't understand it.  I searched other discussions on this forum and none seem to answer that particluar for this particular printer for this particular operating system.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi felipestrong,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see that you are interested in saving the scans of your HP Officejet 6700 Premium to a specific folder you created, where default instead in the pictures folder. You are using Mac OS 10.9 and scan wirelessly from the front of your JO 6700. Please follow the steps listed below:

    1. go into your option to GO in the top left corner

    2. go to Applications

    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder

    4. Select utility

    5. under the scan settings section, select scan to computer

    6. in the lower right corner, select Edit analysis jobs

    7. Save to the Pdf format (documents) or Jpeg (pictures) - whichever you prefer

8 scroll to others to locate the scan my folder created

    9. press Select , and then tap OK

Now when you scan from the front panel of your 6700 JO, your scans are saved in the folder you chose.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you once again,

  • 5514 scan options display is no longer open in the menu of computer device.

Recently computer shut down hard. Necessary for the use of recovery to get the computer running. When restoring printer worked fine, but the menu scan showed is no longer on the menu of the printer on the computer. Scan menu does show on printer, but it is very limited (for example, you cannot label a file, etc..) It's like scan option disappeared completely on the side of the computer to the printer. Uninstalled the printer and reinstalled him as using the CD for the printer. No change. Computer is HP Pavilion 5710 with Windows 7. The printer is 5514. Printer installation CD is 5510. No error message about the scanner. Wireless printing network. No USB.

It would seem that something happened during recovery, but since impossible to access the scan function at all on the computer side, understand what is impossible.

Seems to work, but it took much fussing around until he does. Thank you!

So far I was only able to scan my computer where I needed to install a pice of software. But I want to scan directly to the network share without count it in the middle.

    Hello B7i,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand you want to scan to a shared folder (SIN) with your HP Officejet 6700 Premium. After watching the 6700 product specifications, this isn't one of the characteristics of the 6700 JO scanning, scanning capabilities include scanning to USB and PC key only:

That being said, you need to use the computer. Have a look here in your user's Guide on Page 38, it gives you all the scan options.

I'm sure you already know what options you have in the front of the 6700 but for later use, I'll leave that for you: the façade scanning options

    I hope this helps!

  • HP Officejet 6700: HP Officejet 6700 Premium all in one network problems

Printer = printer HP e-all-in-one Officejet 6700 Premium

    Number of product = CN538A
    Firmware version = MPM5CN1450AR
    Location = Ireland
    Printed pages total: 152
    Scanned pages: 58

    Other details available on request...

I've had this printer for several months now, I have had no problem connecting to my wireless network and connect computers, telephones and other equipment to this.

A few days earlier, when starting the printer display flashes with the useless error message, error in the printer, turn the printer off and back on.

I have power cycled as requested and received the same message, over the power of the cycle he mentions turning off the power button and no DISCONNECT of the sector. Until then I had never disconnected from the sector. After that I have several attempts to power cycle the printer is off and removed the sector, has waited half an hour and powered on again once.

Still stuck in a loop. He also briefly flashed a blue screen with the error B81431CB. So brief that it is almost useless. I had the boot sequence video and pause playback to read error!

After some research, I decided that she was experiencing problems connecting to the WIFI network. So, I turned the wifi on the router and the printer network started as usual. Internal menus are now available and I can print status and so forth, so at this point I can exclude defects of ink or mechanism.

I went in on the printer network settings and reset the network. I'll also through the printer to factory default settings. I have reactivated the WIFI network to the router then went to install the printer again. Digitized for wifi networks and found mine. Entered the password for wifi and the printer could not connect. Everything is good, correct ssid, signal. Report shows wifi password is incorrect.

I have try several times to connect wifi password is certainly correct, but the printer refuses to recognize the correct password. I tried a different router, the same result. Says incorrect password. Also I tried WPS and a PIN, said still fails to connect.

At this point, I have disabled all security on the wifi network. Bingo, printer connects to the network, but starts with the loop of error mentioned at the start of the tour and turn it back on. This above has been tried several times, the factory reset, everything ok, turn off the wifi security, the printer connects and goes in a loop.

So, at this point wifi is confirmed to be defective. I decide to directly connect a LAN cable. Once the LAN cable is connected, a few seconds later the printer detects the network and goes back into its loop error. It will not just connect to a network via wifi or LAN. He previously worked on the network, and nothing has changed on the network, not new parameters or no new devices.

I connected a laptop to the printer via USB and that seems to work ok, but a USB connection is not ideal and defeated the convenience of a wireless printer. I also tried to reflash the printer in case there is a corruption of the firmware, but the utility detects that the latest firmware is installed and that it is not engaged.

    Now...?

OK I managed to make it work and I will try to explain the steps of my best.

As mentioned previously, I tried another router, I tried the wiring, and I tried to reset the router and the printer. Nothing seemed to work.

Out of curiosity I just put my phone in a WIFI AP. Tried connecting the printer and it worked. The printer connected to the WIFI phones.

So I know that the printer works on at least one access point.

Thus, in the settings of the router and firewall. The only thing enabled in the firewall have been

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: after Windows 10 Upgrade on Officejet 6700 scanning does not work anymore - can not find scanner

    Hello

Having finally decided to take the plunge to upgrade to Windows 10, I discovered that my Officejet 6700 Premium previously peripheral work will scan is no longer.

My connection to the device is via a wired connection with a static IP address on the printer. It all worked perfectly under Windows 7, but now, I can only print to the printer to win 10.

I tried to uninstall the previously working software (under Win 7) and downloaded the latest version of the HP (OJ6700_1315 - 1.exe) software, which BTW is not a patch on the previous software that I'm used to using - but it did not help. Still no joy with the scanning feature.

I tried to uninstall all software, so I tried to launch the Wizard installation HP which seemed to re - install the last set of software (as above) with the same results - I can print it, but if I try to scan using the Officejet 6700 App it appears a dialog box saying "inaccessible Scanner. Scanner communication cannot be established. Make sure that your product is powered, check the connection and esnure that your network runs correctly. ...".  Amazing result given that the application displays all levels of printer ink, and I can print - every time!

I tried disabling the firewall - no difference, still do not see the scanner.

Tried using other windows applications; Paint, etc. - no joy.

I also tried the "HP Print Scan doctor and" nothing does - even, he gives up and says to contact HP support, with no details about what to tell them!

I hope someone else out there could have had the same problem and found a way to make it work?

    Thank you!

    Ok

In case anyone is interested, I bit the bullet and did a new install of Windows 10 on a formatted drive. I then installed the same software that I had tried on the "upgrade to Windows 7" windows, 10, and everything works as expected.

Therefore, there is definitely something wrong with the upgrade process, and the removal of the HP scanning software & resettlement never did his job correctly.

I look closely at the list of DLLs etc., charged by the printing software, but could not detect anything immediate.

Then, certainly in my case, a new facility was to solve this problem.

    See you soon,.

    1. press the power button to turn on the printer.
    2. press on the right arrow to display the second navigation screen.
    3. press the down arrow to scroll through the options of scan and then press the option that corresponds to the document or picture you are scanning.

    Hi @mortn99,

I noticed you're wondering how to scan to e-mail directly in Thunderbird, with your HP Officejet 6700 on Windows 7. I am pleased to see that for you!

Scanning to e-mail software, will always use the email client that is configured by default. An option that may work is to set Thunderbird as default email client. Please see this article, make sure Thunderbird the default e-mail Client.

Hope this is useful and thanks for posting!

  • Officejet 6700 scanning settings

    OfficeJet 6700 Premium (Prod # CV078A) network (direct connection to the router). 1 = Win XP SP3 computer. computer 2 = WIN7 Pro SP1 32-bit;

A couple of questions about scanning. This printer has replaced an Officejet 6500 failure that has served me well for several years before suffering significant constipation of ink.

1 scanned files are much larger than those produced by my 6500. I adjusted the scanning parameters, including PDF (NOT available), B & W and size of file/quality under Advanced settings, the "smaller" value The file sizes are about 3 x what has been produced by using 6500 dpi (200). Any suggestions?

2 prerequisite software registered automatically scans as "Scan001", "Scan002", etc.. Current software requires to manually change the file name for each further analysis when scanning from the computer using the HP software. Is this correct feature? (If so, it is a step backwards.) See also 3 below. [Edit: point of Travis' 2 in response below deals with this issue - thanks!]

    3. scan of the computer (from the printer front panel) saves the file 'Scan0001', 'Scan0002', etc.  This works as expected. Why is this not implemented when using 2 above? (Or am I missing?).

Thanks in advance for the answer and enlightenment.

OK - downloaded Free Edition Paperscan v.1.8.3 and used the TWAIN driver to get the image of my Officejet 6700 using the document feeder. Registered 1 page file to PDF with dpi set at 200. File size is 22K. (Now, that's more like it.) Oh, and the quality of the image will appear better, too. [Edit: but see message below re.] NAPS2]

Same document 1 page using the old HP scanning, recorded as a simple pdf software with 200 dpi setting results in a file size of 177 K! 22 K vs 177 K - same, I can do that math.

Conclusion: there is something seriously wrong [ineffective/sloppy code] with the HP scanning software. (and I don't think they care)

    Recommendation: Fix it.
