ScanJet 4 p

This is an old scanner, have all the strings. Can I still use it?

Hello

More likely, the answer is no.

The scanner is very old, its latest version of the software is available for Windows 95 using the CD, it is no longer supported under XP or any newer operating system like Vista, 7 or 8.

  • ScanJet g4050 not compatible with El Capitan

ScanJet g4050 no longer works with El Capitan. I have iMac and on the update of OS X 10.11 the scanner stopped communicating with the computer.

    Any suggestions?

Finally, I contacted HP.  They are aware of the problem. They said they no longer support scanjet G4050. However, they recommend a third-party software that can be downloaded on the net. BUT you will have to pay the money.

    That's what they said:

The solution that we recommend is VueScan. http://www.Hamrick.com/VueScan/hp_scanjet_g4050.html

If you pay 80 USD for the software of theVueScan get the scammer as he was running, or buy a new scanner.

    This is the case!

  • Windows 7 will not recognize driver for HP Scanjet 5370c scanner

I was not able to get Windows 7 to recognize the driver for my HP Scanjet scanner on my new HP Pavilion Elite a9200z desktop computer.  I tried to install the original driver delivered with the software that not only failed, but it was necessary to do a system restore to an earlier date.  After downloading the software update and the driver on the HP website (for the XP operating system. (No), the software successfully installed but Device Manager said there is no driver installed.  I tried Udating driver in Device Manager, but none were found on the system.  I'm afraid that because the driver is not signed by HP, this is perhaps the reason that the system will not recognize it.  I do not receive a message about the driver being made and has been disabled.

Where would the driver have been installed under Windows and what would be the name of the file?  Is it possible to install a driver that has not been signed on Windows 7, even though I know that it comes directly from the manufacturer.  I came on this forum that says HP email support is no longer in effect for this scanner.  Scanner was working fine under Windows XP.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your response.  I posted the same question to the Board of Directors Microsoft as well.  One of the technicians gave me a link to a website that has software in support of scanners which pilots the manufacturer has not, for some reason, took worth to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7.  I installed Vuescan driver bundled with the program which works perfectly, and my scanner HP Scanjet scanner 5370c is upward and great in Windows 7.  They have a list of more than 100 scanners supported by the program.  So, anyone interested should check the list before you buy the program.  No, the program is not free, but it is much cheaper ($39.95) that pitching on a scanner perfectly ideal of work and having to buy a new one.    Anyway, if anyone is interested in the possibility of using their scanner ' is no longer supported "with Windows 7, the website below might help.

then add the update of the firmware.8s which is supposed to fix some problems. One being a squeak in certain situations. A problem I had met.

    Otherwise the scanner worked fine.

now it doesn't work at all. Scanner displays 'error 07' at any time, it is asked to do something. Also get the message scanner could not be initialized Scanner not found)

What really bothers me is that it worked before the updates.

    Now, nothing.

I tried to reload the updates, then tap, disconnect, restart the process.

  • HP Scanjet 4300C compatibility with Windows 7

I did an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 and my scanner HP Scanjet 4300C seems to be properly installed in Windows 7, but nothing happens when I try to scan.

In the Panel, the Scanner seems to work, but when I try to add a scanning profile I get the error "unable to initioalize the selected scanner. The test of the scanner button is also disabled and the scanner does not appear in 'My computer' as a scanning device.

I think there may be an updated driver to resolve this problem? The scanner was working fine under Windows XP.

    Hope you can help me.

Thanks to this post, I figured out how to get the scanner software and the driver installed and working on Windows 7 32 bit.

    Here are the directions:

    1. If your scanner is connected to your computer (USB) uninstall by using Device Manager, do not forget to check the box that says "remove driver." And unplug the USB when it is uninstalled.  When I did this had never installed the software previously in my Windows 7 operating system.

    2. download the sj657 Installer packed HP. http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/generic...=reg_R1002_USEN
Unzip it into a folder.  If you double-click on the downloaded file, it will attempt to open the file of configuration automatically and you will get a message saying that the software only works on Windows 98, etc.  Just cancel and go to the folder (default location is C:sj657) and proceed to the next step.

    3. Select the "setup" application and right-click on it to get properties, replace the XP compatibility (I have service pack 2). Then run the TI and click 'OK' on all Windows 7 warnings.

    4. go in the folder Hewlett-Packard now in your directory Program Files, there will be a folder "HP Precisionscan". It will be the only unless you have to other HP products. Open the Precisionscan LTX folder and change all the apps XP compatibility.  I have also verified that the administrator checkbox on each app (there are several) just in case.

    5 restart your computer.

6 plug in your scanner via USB and let in install.  Windows 7 should give you a notice that your C 4300 has been installed successfully.

The scanner now works using the LTX software installed on your computer. The buttons on the front do not seem to work, or can do you something with it by going to 'scanners and cameras' in your control panel. BUT in the case otherwise, it seems to work great and all the features are there in the LTX software.

My old C 4300 (I bought this probably nearly a decade) is somehow better than a newer scanner that I bought last year.

  • HP Scanjet G4010 Windows 7 software problem

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 and installed the latest drivers and software for my old scanjet G4010.  It will scan using the button on the scanner, but I can't adjust scanning settings (picture of quality, where the harvest, etc.).

BUT the scanner software does not work. This brings me through the installer without any problems until it reaches the actual scan wick. By clicking on finish, there is no process of scanning, and nothing is recorded. Have you tried several places, but... nothing.  Not in a satisfactory way, such that it has reduced what was a versatile workhorse to a silent photocopier.

    Is there a solution?

    Hi Paul2001,

I understand that since the upgrade your OS to Windows 7, you are no longer able to use the scanning software.

I would like that you start here: 'No. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined", that will guide you through the troubleshooting steps and also the possible solutions.

I would like to know if it was useful, if you have more questions please let me know.

    Thank you

    Hello RichardM02

The product that you have is a commercial scanner. I suggest you post in the HP Business Support forum for a better chance to find a solution.

    Hi Poulladehoff,

These programs use the Windows drivers. Connect the scanner to the computer automatically installs the Windows drivers. It should work with Microsoft Office as well as Paint.

It would be a sort of trial and error of the thing.

  • ScanJet G3110: Scanjet G3110 is supported in Windows 10?

Anyone using Scanjet G3110 on Windows 10?
    All the problems?
Impossible to get a clear answer from HP on whether or not it is supported.
Just get scripted response that send me links that don't answer the question.

Welcome to the HP community @Dave22015,

I understand that you want to know if the Scanjet G3110 is supported on Windows 10. Although I can't find any sort of confirmation that it is supported, the best you can do is try to install the driver Windows 8.1, to see if it works.

Click this link, click on "Edit" to the right of the page to change the Windows 8.1 operating system and download the full driver here.

  • Using scanjet G4050 HP scanning 35mm slide

A week ago, I bought a HP scanjet G4050. I bought to digitize old 35mm slides, I chose this model because it was written, I could scan 16 slides at the same time, but I can't find a software that can do!

    Please help me!

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

Sorry for my bad English, I write from the Italy.

Thank you very much in advance for your answer!

Sorry for my bad English but I'm Italian and my English is not very good!

I solved my problem, I "reset" my mac, so I downloaded this driver

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4159 & LC = IT & CC = IT & DLC = IT & sw_lang = & Product = 3236377 #n177

and I bought vuescan standard edition (because with the free, it did not work) and now I can scan slide 16 in order!

I save in 1200 dpi and for all slides 16 it takes more or less 50 minutes, sometimes, it seems that the scanner is stuck, but I think the problem is that my mac is not powerful enough to image realignment process takes a lot of time.

-HP support assistant/framework/scanning, printing doctor [result "don't install the driver" awhile, but obviously it is installed and the wizard fails to resintall it]

Installation of the software in safe mode (after editing registry it is possible) all the complete component installs (scan software, iris, twain, etc.) but always the same questions: scanning does not work.

  • Scanjet 5590

This isn't an important topic, but I do not think to run best if possible.

I'm very good results with my Scanjet 5590 but wonder if I could speed up things a bit.   Currently, for starters, I open my HP Scanning file (5590), which offers a choice of actions shown on my computer screen, and then give instructions from there.   However, I see that the manual gives to think I could use the buttons on the front of the scanner to start things rolling.   However, pressing any button gives no reaction at all.   Questions are, if the scanner is not properly installed, and, if that were the case, it would be an improvement on the current path?

    Hi, student graduated.

Thanks for this info.   However, the first address seems to apply only to the scanners G4010 and G4050, while the second address tells me to go to Center solutions HP. I and I don't seem to have this item on my Pc, only "HP Scanning" as I explained.   However, reading further I see "recommendation: stick the Panel buttons to HP, not solutions center software before scanning." Essentially, the two methods perform the same actions, and the software is easier access to make changes to scan jobs. "that seems to coincide and agree with my current operating system.

All this makes me think I think I need to go, unless you have anything more to suggest, it's thank you and goodbye!
