I have a lot of disk space and tried to repeat the time where there are no installation. I use wireless which is a power connection (seems to be the specific network), but connect to the internet using the cable has not solved the problem either. Help, please. Thanks for your time.

    Hi AndraP,

Since these are updates important, even if you hide updates, you may need to install the update at some point.

You can try to perform a clean boot and try to install the stand-alone package containing the updates.

    Step 1:

You can perform a clean boot state.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to a Normal startup once you are finished with the installation of the update.

  • Is it legal (and good) to deploy a custom with an installer Vista patch?

    Hello

First of all, sorry if I'm in the wrong forum. I was quite confused about the place where my question.

    Background

I work for a software company that deploys a financial application approximately 3000 users. For money transfers, we use a third-party solution.

This third party uses the Jet DB. The developer of this third solution has recently found a bug that was caused by a known Bug in Windows Vista, which, in turn, has been resolved with Vista SP2. Of course, there is a fix so (KB943509 ).

To resolve the bug users must be vista sp2 or the hotfix.

    Questions

    1. We thought to deploy this patch with our next installation as a sine qua non. Is this a good idea?
    2. To download the fix, I had to check my installation with wga. If deploy us the patch, this check would not apply to users. This leaves wondering: is - it legal to deploy a patch from microsoft for windows for which users check their installation of windows?

Thank you and have a nice day

    Kind regards

  • Re-install (clean install) Windows Vista Home Premium with no installation disc

I have a laptop that is running Windows Vista. I would like to wipe the drive and reinstall Vista. The computer came preloaded with Vista and did not include the operating system installation diskettes. How would I be able to get the Vista installation diskettes? My computer is an Acer Aspire 5100. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (SP2).

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact Acer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a fee if they are still available.

    http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

With an Acer, it's "left Alt + F10 at startup".

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

See programs > Acer > then their eRecovery software stars for them.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • Issue with Vista wireless

Computing:   I have a Dell XPS 420 Desktop Computer with wireless capability with a Broadcom 802.11 network adapter g. operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Service Pack 1

History: I had my computer since December 2007 and used to access wireless internet with Bellsouth DSL and a Linksys router, and then for the past year, I got paired with a Linksys WRT150N router comcast. I have had no problems to connect to the internet until Verizon Fios has been installed on the Sunday, August 30, 2009.
That said, I tried with a Dell laptop in windows XP and it is connected. I also tried with a mini computer dell laptop running XP and it is also connected. Yet once again, I say that all three of these computers connected to the internet using Linksys and two different ISPS, it was with the switch to verizon that it has lost its ability to connect.

Verizon has installed a router wireless Actiontec MI424WR Rev E.
Firmware version: 20.9.0 (this is the most to date version)

I can't connect my Dell XPS 420 desktop using a wired LAN connection to the router and establish an internet connection. I'm not able to establish a wireless internet connection. When I try to go wireless, it is said:
Public Network - unidentified network - Local access only.
    IPv4 connectivity: Local
    IPv6 connectivity: Local
    Media state: enabled
    SSID: FWLK5

    Sharing:
    The two boxes are checked:

Allow the other network users to control or disable the shared connection

What I've tried so far based on reading previous forums discussing this issue.

    1. completely uninstalled Norton 360, including using the Norton removal tool and by calling the customer service of Norton who has accessed the computer and verified the complete removal.

2 turned off the windows firewall.

3 make sure the Broadcom network adapter driver has been the most up to date.

    4. people with disabilities and reinstalled the card network Broadcom.

5 update Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and all other updates installed today.

6 call Verizon Online support - they reset the modem and tried several things like change the "channel". Nothing has worked. They said to contact the computer manufacturer. They have pointed the finger to be a problem with Vista from the computers Windows XP work.

    7. called Dell: they tried several things with access to remote and says that it is the problem of the router/ISP.

    8. unplug the router several times, waited 5 minutes and plugged in. Has made several rounds of power on the computer as well.

    9. changing a registry key according to Microsoft technical support to disable the DHCP Broadcast flag in windows vista (I'm not entirely sure I did correct it because I didn't know what was the GUID) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233

10 disabling IPv6 (by unchecking it)

11 disabling IPv4 (by unchecking it)

12 Ran IPConfig to confirm I have a valid IP address (starts with 192 and is valid I don't know if I should post the full address)

13 fact MSCONFIG with reset winsock

14 changed the settings TCP/IP by netsh int ip reset at the command prompt, and out, and then uupon done restart ncpa.cpl in the start menu and unchecked the tcp/ip v6 Protocol restarted the computer.

    15. don't attempt to ping a website - no Exchange packets, error message cannot find the Web site. I tried www.google.com and www.verizon.com

I am at a loss of what I can do to get my computer back operational wireless. Due to the entire office to the top of our House, I would really like this computer on another level and the only way to accomplish that without drilling the holes through the walls that it it works wireless.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hello

If you have an XP disk and license, you can go back to XP

If you have not an XP license try to buy one at a computer repair shop

you boot from the XP disc and format in this way:

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

  • Recovery of Windows Vista Premium with no installation CD

I had to reinstall completely portable my son after a number of virus caused his laptop Toshiba to failure, but the question I have is the fact that I don't have a installation CD any recovery or windows.

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • with the Vista installation error: bootmgr.c

    The system:

    4 GB of ram
    300 GB SATAII
    PATA DVD - RW
    Win Vista Ultimate x 64

Error occurs when you attempt to repair the installation of windows vista.

The system worked very well.  I put a Server 2 k 8 installation disc, to capture an error message I received some time ago.  Once I got the error message, I took the 8 2 k disk out and restarted.  Vista appeared be started normally, but when going in the loading bar, to black, and then to load the cursor, the system just stayed black (white screen).  There is no error message, just a white screen.  The screen is not time and sleep, as if there is a lack of signal; He remains alive.

So I put in my Vista installation disc to do a repair. The installation disc comes at the end of "loading files", and when the installer would normally load, I get an error instead.

I tried this with different drives and even with the drive disconnected.  I checked the installation disc will load normally on another PC.  Any thoughts\ideas as to what this error is trying to tell me?

Wow, I was hoping this would be the DVD drive.  The only place from there is controllers and cables, then eventually the motherboard.

Given that you receive the error without the hard drive is connected and the media works on other systems, we roamed outside what I'm allowed to support in this forum, but I was hoping that we would identify the material defective and much faster.

My apologies for not being able to help you solve this problem, but if the system is still under warranty, it's a contact in good time the hardware manufacturer.

If you ultimately identify what is the cause, thanks for posting this information here.  I would really like to know what is the source of this error.
