  Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I understand since the upgrade of the OS to 10.9 Mavericks you get an error "sorry scanner could not be initialized" with your HP Officejet J6480. After some research, there is no complete abailable features of software and drivers for the J6480 JO, that said that the printer would have been installed using the Apple updates. To get a better understanding of take a look below:

  I was wondering if anyone has experience with this error message, even if they print on their all-in-one: 'the scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found).'

  I could scan until I unpacked & re - configure my Mac to a new apartment - as far as I know, nothing has been changed then it worked.  I found a page from HP support with fixes for the error message above to: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/buu05214 ... .but none of the suggestions worked and the last one is for Windows users (and he had no suggestions for Mac platforms). I tried to "Setup Wizard" device, without change management. Tried the "select device" and none are listed. by clicking on the "refresh [list]" did nothing.

  Oops, I meant the control panel of the printer.

  When you open picture Capture, click the triangle next to 'Devices' or 'Shared' on the left side.  Along the bottom, then click on "show details".  On the right side, you will be able to choose the destination of scanning, type of file and other parameters.

  When I try to open a HP Device Manager scan job, Scan Pro application opens, but the error message says "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized" and "scanner not found." The button new analysis on Scan Pro window is not active, nor is the new analysis options in the drop-down scan menu.

  I'm running the L7780 of a MacBook Pro, using the wired ethernet connection.  I checked the S/W updates and was assured that my software is up to date.

  The network to the ethernet L7780 connector light is on, and as other L7780 functions still work, I conclude that the network is not the problem.  How the other functions of the L7780 would be on the net, but the scanner being "not found.   Where should I look next?

  Reload the software on the computer corrects the problem.

• m276nw scanner not found in mac os 10.9

  We bougth a M276nw MFP that is not be discovered as a scanner on MAC 10.9.  Several things were done with resolve them the probem.

  1 reset the printing system

  2 reinstall the most recent drivers: HP-LaserJet-SW-OSX - Mavericks_v12.34.45

  But stil scanner not discovered beng.

  Problem is solved, two things have changed:

  1 jumbo last updated on MAC OS

  2. the wireless access point has been replaced by a new one.

  I have HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one printing and I use OS X 10.6.8.  I tried to launch the CD supplied with the printer, but that he would be stuck after a few percentage of the installation.  I repeated this process of restarting the laptop and unplug the printer to reset.  Nothing worked so I used the download software/driver online and everything was set up beautifully.  Now, when I tried to analyze one of my papers it says "scanner could not be initialized" because the scanner was not found.

  

  Any help is appreciated, I just need this scanner upward and the work.

  The HP Scan Pro is a very old application for Mac SO X 10.4 or 10.5 and not for your current operating system.

  From the Applications folder go to Hewlett-Packard and follow the HP uninstaller program to remove the old software on your Mac.

  Once you are done, download and install the latest version of the software for OS X 10.6 from the following link, then you can scan using the HP scanning software:

  I have a htmlFolder in my 'src' that contains html files. "What I do is, that, when running, I return the HTML of the file in < mx:HTML id ="htmlView"> using the following code.

  Problem->

  It works fine in windows, but not running MAC OS. Probably because windows uses the folder structure, not sure on MAC OS, but I guess that settles into a single file that contains subfolders that are hidden from the user. Anyone know a solution for it?

  It seems that you have probably set user_defined_data 'Y', but do not fill your data defined by the user to the user_sdo_network_user_data.

  Follow these steps:

  If user_defined_data is set to 'Y', you can set it to "n" then IFN will no definition of user data search in user_sdo_network_user_data.
  If you intend to use your network user data, you must set user_defined_data 'Y' and

  I use mac os 10.11 El Capitan.  I have an old version of cs2 and illustrator 10.  I try to use the cs2 on my laptop because it is more recent (first installation on this unit) and I can't seem to install.  I used the link on the site to re - install, thinking it would work, but no luck.  Can I still use my old program or illustrator cs2, or what new creative suite would work.  Thank you!

  It is better you get the latest version of Adobe apps.

  Most of the CS 2 apps are Power PC apps that is no longer supported on the latest version of Mac OS.

  5 years ago I had a HP inkjet printer and after that it has been installed, I never got the scanner to work. I always had an error message (do not remember the wording). Last month, I had a new HP laserjet printer with a scanner and it is installed, but still once, I get an error message when it comes to scanning. This message says that there is no scanner found on my computer.

  Today, in the control panel of the printer, I could open the analysis option. It seems that the only options are to send the scan of an email or having the scan sent to a flashdrive (USB port). So, if I want to scan a photo, how do I just scan the image and save it to my documents? Why is the only option to send it in an email or a flash drive, or a network folder? If I try to access the scanner to my computer (instead of using the Panel on the front of the printer), it looks not to the scanner is connected to the computer, even if it is (I went into System Preferences and found the printer and the printer and scanner are connected with this new printer).

  So, my question is double; why I get this message saying my scanner is not on my computer and is the only way to use the scanner is to him have connected to the internet or to a USB port, and if so, how do I connect it to my e-mail address or the network? I guess I have to send the scanned image to myself if I want it on my computer or save it on a USB? Thanks for any help.

• KYE Systems Genius Colorpage - SF600 Scanner not found after reboot

  When I install my colorpage-SF600scanner. And when I stopped and bring it back up it does not find the scanner. And since he did install I have a problem with the resolution of my monitor. Whenever I repair it, with 2 screens it immediately goes with the way he has been. Any suggestions? And then I scan my laptop it says I have 9 drivers that are obsolete.   I had to remove the drivers and the software once.  I have re-installed, but now the printer works fine and when I try to run a scan of the computer or the printer they don't know each other and I can't scan.

  It fixed...  I had asked a computer specialist to look at and he cheated by creating IP port and tell the PC to print via the port.  Although the sweep of the network was suspended on that port.  Installed the printer via a USB cable and then removed from the printer and reomved first which stood on the IP port.  Once it is I installed the printer again and scan network found the printer immediately and went big.

  Printer: HP Photosmart C3140 all in one.

  In 10.6 you do not use the HP software to scan, use Preview or Capture of Image.  Search for your printer on the left column, select it and go from there.

  If this does not work, there are other things we can do.
