  I worked the market for several weeks trying to remove my Microsoft Windows XP Edition edition family Version 2002 with Service pack 3 Microsoft Silverlight.  It can be removed with uninstalling the program because I gives me this Message: "this patch could not be opened.  "Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows setup hotfix package.

  Every night when I turn on my desk, it shows updates that need to be downloaded when I turn if turned off, then after delayed my trip to the bed for an extra 5 or 10 minutes he informs me that there is no silverlight 2 updates that they were unable to use... which of course I know for months.

  I don't know how my office put a hand on one program that can be removed or updated, but all I want to do is get rid of it without having to replace my hard drive.

  I'd appreciate any help that you can provide, keeping in mind that I am NOT a GURU and as such have no idea of what a hotfix or a hotfix Package is and would like to have instructions to remove this Silverlight program so it will stop embarrassing me, but if you could provide the removal steps which are not difficult to follow It would certainly be useful.

  What version of Windows are you using?

  If it is a Windows-based computer you must uninstall it any other application rather than slip into the compartment. For example, in Windows 7:

  1. go in: Control Panel-> programs and features

  2 right click on Microsoft Silverlight and select Uninstall , and then follow the prompts.

  If you have a Mac, so here are the instructions from Microsoft for deletion of Silverlight:

  (I don't use a Mac so I can't confirm that this correct or help that you also if it doesn't work)

  The latest version is ver.v1.4.6.0 out June 19, 2012.

  I recommend you to please update the USB drivers on your computer and check if it helps.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  We found it!

  Our IT Department has been able to dig up in the driver package and finally managed to uninstall.

  Something has been damaged and the pilot wouldn't uninstall correctly.

  This fixed the problem beautifully.
