Scanning documents w / Windows Fax and Scan

I use an HP all-in-one to scan documents.  Unfortunately, "sweeping" HP solutions Center function of gel (I can print but not scan), then I use the Windows Fax and Scan with Windows 7 Ultimate.  How to scan multiple pages in a Document/picture using Windows Fax and Scan?

Hi jwoodyiu,

If you're using a scanner with a charger of documents and Windows Fax and Scan, you can scan multiple pages into a single file of scanning to the TIFF (.tif) file format. For more information, see:

Scan a document or photo with Windows Fax and Scan

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/scan-a-document-or-photo-with-Windows-fax-and-scan

If you use Windows Fax and Scan and a flat bed scanner, you can scan multiple images to separate files probably. Not all scanners flat have this ability, so you may need to contact the manufacturer of the scanner to get a driver so that your scanner flat may offer this option.

On the issue of scanner HP, download the latest drivers and software available for the model number that is compatible with Windows 7. That should solve the problem.

If you open Windows Fax and Scan and click on tools and then click Fax accounts, there is an option to remove all the accounts listed.  After you have done this, you can configure a different account.

You can try uncheck Windows Fax and Scan via Control Panel / programs and features / turn Windows Features on or off / printing and document Services / Windows Fax and Scan.  This allows to uninstall it.  You restart and then reverse steps to reinstall.

  • Scanning multiple pages with Windows Fax and Scan

I can't understand how to scan multiple pages in a document on Windows 7 using the Windows Fax and Scan program. Using the same printer (Canon MX300), I can scan in several pages in a single file on my old XP using Windows Office Document Imaging. It works very well. I tried to download this program on my Windows 7 computer and I can scan, but the pages are blank! Can someone help me get this figured out?

MODI is part of the office and requires the rest of the Office to be there. You can also use a PDF as PDF-Xchange Viewer writer to import your pages scanned in a multipage. PDF of the file and send it by fax.

  • How to MOVE the default location of Windows Fax and Scan?

We have recently added a second server (Windows Server 2008) to a domain AD., because the new server has more resources, we moved all the DOCUMENTS folder to users from the server (Server 2003) network share to address liked to a share on the new Server 2008 machine. After the move, all Windows 7 machines runs the utility of fax and scan can not find MANY DOCUMENTS folder as the utility constantly points to the old server (which took the OLD action of document already deleted).

I changed the location of DOCUMENTS in Windows 7 for Server 2008 sharing, but Fax and Scan keeps searching for the old stock 2003 server and I cannot find where to redirect them. Can I turn off Windows fax and analysis services to the title of printing and scanning and then restore? That will allow me to redirect to the correct folder? I have tried even to search the registry for references to the old stock but still can't seem to locate the old server to the MANY DOCUMENTS reference.

    Can anyone help?

    Russ Foszcz

I solved this problem with a synlink

First to find the actual location of Library/Documents/scanned documents, make this scanned Documents to right click and click 'open file location '.

In my case he opened it (that I copied from the address bar):

    Documents C:\Users\Tim\Documents\Scanned

What should I do now is to save the files in this folder, and then delete the "Documents" folder completely

Then click the windows key and type in run or search (or click the Windows key + R) and type 'cmd' and press enter

    A black console should appear

In it, you must enter this command, I wanted that my scans to record in X:\Scans

    MKLINK /j "C:\Users\Tim\Documents\Scanned Documents" X:\Scans

    then press enter

This creates a folder (symlink, not a shortcut), who acts as a normal file, but is actually located in a different place, so when the scan software saves files in its default location will be actually stored in X:\Scans

  • Help with registration of the PDF when using Windows Fax and Scan

When I use the Windows Fax and Scan, I'm trying to scan a document and then save it as a PDF file.  What happens is when I save it, it opens Adope Photo Shop and will not let me save it as a PDF.  How can I scan a document and then save it as a PDF in Windows 7.0?

If you have Word 2007 or later, you can scan it, then save it as a PDF. Works fine for me. I have a Canon LIDE 100 scanner, I bought for $50, which will also scan directly to PDF.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Windows Fax and Scan - what the appropriate use for the concurrent users to save to the network program?

I'll try to keep this simple - as I already asked this on other forums without the answer. My environment - Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 32-bit client machines. A computer needs to scan patient documents to a network shared by a group of users folder. There will be many people who use this computer even through all day (several shifts - environment 24 hours/7 days).  This is why I need multiple profiles from windows to all save the scan to the SAME network location.

Currently I am trying to achieve with Windows Fax and Scan and using the ' Scan 'option under 'tools' routing. "  There is a check box (once in this option) for "network location".  I am using this option, but its does not work and that's the whole problem. Its supposed to AUTOMATICALLY record each scan to the specified network location, but it does no such thing. The scan is not registered at all in fact it is just in the interface user of Windows Fax and Scan... double you click it, and then it shows you the image.

Some information note for helping people answer this question (and any help is appreciated):

    (1) * YES * the network folder, I am trying to record is a valid network folder and * IS * accessible via my network of different devices

    (2) * YES * the user of this journal on the computer with the scanner * ALL * read/write to have rights to this location of the network folder

    (3) * file YES and printing sharing is already active on clients

If you please if someone either knows how to solve this problem, or at this stage if you can even suggest a different (cheaper the better) application that will scan to a network location please let me know.

One might think to a disabled feature labeled as "scan routing" and then a field for "network location", it would be simple as plugging in the network folder and checking a box - apparently it isn't.

    Thank you.

  • creating PDFs with windows fax and scan

How can I create PDF files with Windows Fax and Scan using Windows 7 Home Prem?   The only way to create a document with multiple pages is by selecting a type of tiff file.

    Hi Ken King1961,

You cannot create a PDF using Windows Fax and Scan.

You will need to use a third party program to create PDF files. Use your favorite search engine to locate the PDF creators.

  • Questions Windows Fax and Scan

    Hi all

After modernizing our systems to small business from Windows XP to Windows 7 x 64, we were unable to use the toolkit provided with our printers Canon MF Fax/scanning, we converted in Windows Fax and Scan

So far, it's working fine, but I have three questions that I can't find answers to...

    1. when a received fax is deleted, where is he?  I can't to the trash, and sometimes, I delete a fax by chance and here to recover, but can't find it

2 can we somehow add a comment/topic to faxes received to allow the best management of incoming messages?     Would be really nice if the Inbox can be sorted by sender or subject

    3. can you inbox / outbox backed up/archived/export made?

    Thank you

    Hi Mike,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have some queries about the Windows Fax & Scan utility. I hope you find the following useful answers.

    1. There is no "deleted items" bin ior recycles n Windows fax and scan, so unless you have a backup system, you cannot recover the deleted documents.

    2. No, you can't add a comment/topic to faxes received to allow the best management of incoming messages.

    3. Ideally, the location of the Inbox of fax is C:\Users\ (username) \Documents\Fax\Inbox.
