Scanning/printing with envy 4500 problem
We had our combo printer for about 6 months... we had a problem with the printing of our laptop computer after you install the software. When you try to print, the dialog box shows the printer is offline, but it's not. We also have the software installed on our desktop. My question is, we are limited to a single computer for this printer and not both? If so, this is not cool. I have run diagnostics and just, it will not help. I uninstalled the software from the laptop and reinstalled. It worked today, but now I can not scan from my office. What is the problem?

I see that your HP Envy 4500 printer is indicating that it is in offline mode. According to another post, you run that Windows 7 is that correct? I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!
This printer has USB connection or wireless connectivity options. If you wireless you can print with several computers, if computer USB and then one at a time.
Please consult this guide, "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Windows 7.

I tried to solve this problem for over 3 hours now so apologies if shows my frustration.
MacBook pro under OS X 10.9.2
Apple airport express router
HP Envy 4500 all in one printer/scanner
I can print without problem.
Using the HP Scan application, I get this message:
My camera looked good in regards to connectivity on my computer in system preferences, then I went to the screen of printer control in the menu 'Wireless' and I tried to redo the wireless configuration. I typed in my network name and the printer can't find my network. I have continued in any case, left the network name in and typed the wi - fi password, still no luck.
So I tried the WPS in place. The screen just kept looking, and nothing connected.
So, I tried to download the drivers from the HP site and guess what? The driver is installed on my hard drive, but then set it up the window of the HP utility can't find my device is:
I tried to connect the printer directly to the computer with the USB cable, just so he could download the driver, he got as far as the next step, "Configuring device" and who doesn't work anymore:
I tried to restore the default settings on the printer.
I tried uninstall & reinstall - oh, but then we encounter the same problem.
And during all this, the printer has frozen several times, so I had to unplug the power to restart.
I restarted my computer and my router. I did everything listed to. The printer does not have the router in Setup Wizard, and in the HP utility, it does not find my printer, BUT I CAN PRINT. Just doesn't scan.
For some reason, I can PRINT wireless with no problems. But the scanner do not think that my router or my computer is. I can not open even the utilities EVEN when it is connected DIRECTLY with USB, I get this message:
I am beyond frustrated, I'm about to throw it at the wall. Please if anyone has a solution, I'd like to hear it. This printer is not even 5 months old. I HATE when things are not working. I can understand if I did something to it, but I did nothing else until it turned off for a few days.
Note: I WAS able to scan before without a problem. The only thing I can think is that I put my printer off for a few days because I was not using it.

I bought a HP Envy 4500 several months ago. No problems at all with the copy /printing. Went to use the Scan function for the first time yesterday and get an error message that the scanner and the computer are not connected. I tried to scan the front of the printer and the HP Photosmart software and still get the same message. Other functions still work correctly. Help!
I finished chatting online with someone in support of HP for more than 2 hours. RELOADED software of printer driver. I was scanning with HP Photosmart Studio before I bought my new printer. Now I'm scanning with HP Scan, which is located in the HP folder on my hard drive (not sure if it's still there or if he appeared with the new download). I can easily transfer what I have scanned scanning HP Photosmart Studio in. HP scanning works even better than Photosmart.
I got a HP ENVY 4500, installed on a laptop with Windows 8.1 and the HP Software scanner worked fine.
I have recently reinstalled the same laptop but with Windows 10 Pro: the printer works fine but the scanner software HP is not available! I can't use all the features of the printer this way...
My question is: why the HP scanning software is not available for Windows 10 Pro? I used the original CD.
Where can I download the (new) 10 Pro software for Windows?

now, I have solved my problem: I install the Windows 10 soft "HP Scan and capture" from the Microsoft Store and it works very well with HP ENVY 4500 printer / scanner!
Hello. I recently bought a chromebook (asus c100) and I am trying to connect my HP envy 4500 and we have tried in many ways. signature for printing ecloud, enter the ip address manually and always without success. Can you get it someone please let me know an alternative.
PS I am able to print from my android phone and I have a chromebook more (HP) and a netbook acer with windows and they are related to this printer yet this new chromebook, may not be able to connect.
Please try to use HP printing for chrome extenion to see if that helps. I've included the instructinos to Setup here.
I have also included some information additional here that should help if the chrome extenion is not (follow the road of education cloud printer).
I have a HP 1102w printer that I'm unable to put up with Google Cloud Print.
What does not work:
* After I register the printer with google cloud print successfully, it sends a test page. The test page is indefinitely in the google cloud print queue. HP eprint site indicates the work received in vain (under recent print jobs).
* I also tried printing from Gmail on Android and the same problem occurred (see google queue, error indicated on the list of recent jobs HP eprint)

I looked around in the discussions, but not found anything specific, sorry if this has been covered a lot before.
I try to print with my host of XP in Fusion 3.0.1 mac printer. Printers on the mac appear as XP printers and printing on them does not work. The icon for the printer appears in the XP taskbar for 2-3 seconds then disappears.
The problem is probably that printers on mac are actually themselves remote - these are versions of a printer on an airport extreme outside on the wlan. But it has worked a certain time, return at some point. I have not used XP to print for a long time.
Running os x 10.6.2.

You can print successfully to these printers using the Mac?
How do you have printers in Windows? You use printer Passthrough, or you have the configuration of printers as printers network in the comments?
WIFI printing worked both MacBook and iphone. Then stopped. Was able to print e-mail with difficulty. Implemented AirPrint, but always had problems. Finally got Apple Support help me in removing the AirPrint service and return to the regular WIFI printing. I am now able to print from the MacBook, but my Iphone says "No. Found AirPrint printers". How to reset iphone to locate the printer?

I can not help you reset your iPhone, but should not have to.
May iPhone airplane mode is off.
Make sure the iPhone is on the same network as the printer.
HP also has a great app for printing from the iPhone app HP Eprint.

I have a router linksys Cisco E1000 and internet Charter cable. The router has active firewall. I installed the 4500 exactly as I should and it showed at the start of my network, printed and everything was peachy. Fast forward by day and cannot find the printer on my network, but he always says that it is connected. I need a solution.

I see that you are having connectivity problems. I would like to help with that!
I have a couple of steps that I would recommend.
First of all, I would recommend a power reset the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I had a document that I scanned and I wanted to print it. The original size is 5 X 7 and I want to print at 8 X 10. He printede very well, but when I printed it he left a border on my the sixe 5 X 7 original work. How can I get rid of this border so I can print borderless on this entire page. I have change my 8 X 10 printer options, but still the same problem.

I tried to copy a document. I resized it by reducing the size, but intended to increase the size. Error message said it was "impossible to analyze, power the printer off then back on." If this does not work, the scanner is broken. "I pressed the power button / stop and screen read"shutting down", but it is stuck there. None of the buttons work.

I see that you have a problem with the printer not wanting to stop.
Try unplugging the power cable at the back of the printer and the power supply. If you use a power strip/bar, please connect the power supply directly on a wall outlet and stop using the Strip/bar.

I have windows vista Home premium and use a printer HP 8100. Until recently, everything was fine, but now the photoviewer program and direct program photoviewer seem to have no possibility to change the default settings of the printer. If I put the default value of the printer for printing General color, or spectator is printed in grayscale or black and white despite my change of the configuration on the preferences box. If I change the default black and white printer, it only allows me to change color. Any ideas on how to get this working again?

Using my Espon R2000 with Photoshop CS5 and Windows 7 (32 bit), I select the printer again each time I have print copy, zero profile type, orientation and printer paper. Sometimes, especially when I do only my 2nd or 3rd copy, I can just click on the printer properties to make the selections, but usually when I do this, I get the error message "because the printer does not exist." Seems I remember that setting the printer to be simple names, 8 or fewer names of characters with no spaces or special characters can be useful.
