Scattered all over the hard drive downloads
Trying to gain some control over the download process; I always put Firefox 'always ask me where to save files. For the first half of the life of FF that worked perfectly well. Save a file that is brought to the top of the corresponding dialog box, showing the location that I lasted sauvΘs and asking if I wanted to re-use that one.
I can see how that might be a concern of privacy on a shared computer, such as the list of recently used files that comes with so many applications, but it has never been a concern for me.
What bug the absolute $% & % $& % hell out of me is that FF now appears most goddawful of random places as suggestions. No matter hoe, I always use the same folder, FF suggests places that are literally everywhere in the hard disk without detectable rhyme or reason. I waited patiently for the development team correct everything they did to make FF cannot perform this simple operation he was quite able to reach with an apparent ease at least as far as his Phoenix days. But, alas, the output ' Let's Break everything "of the week schedule has never solved the problem.
What gives? Someone at - it a fix for the problem? I know that there are affecting a lot of people just longer because I have heard the complaints.
I added the Boolean preference. I wasn't sure if she would take effect without rebooting or not. Of course, I had not too long to wait... Crash-O-Matic pulled on plan and gave him the restart that he may or may not have needed.
I used some time now and have not had the problem again. I will temporarily call this one resolved.
Thank you, man. You can't imagine how crazy this thing driving me for how long.

Toshiba WT7-C-100 - I think I erased all of the HARD drive
I tried to reset to factory my Tablet but I think I deleted all the hard drive. When turned on, it goes into a shell as the screen back. HELP please.
Number of things spring to mind first...
(1) how exactly you factory reset it?
(2) are you able to access the boot / recovery screen? (Turn off, wait 10 seconds, plug the charger, hold the volume button upwards and the power button at the same time)
(3) you did a backup stop cable OTG device and a flash disk HARD before reset you? -
My girlfriend has a desktop Dell XPS 420 quit working a year or 2 ago. A computer technician told me that it sounded as if the hard drive was bad, recently I purchased from Dell, a Seagate 1 TB hard drive (the original is a Western Digital 320 GB).
I bought also, once again from Dell, a copy of its installation discs for Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I installed the new hard drive, correctly, as far as I can tell, but I tried several times over the past days to install Vista and a few times I got errors (BSoD) STOP and a few other times, Windows Installer errors.
What's wrong?
I run Dell diagnostics that took almost a whole day, but I don't think anything. I have not partitioned the hard drive, it's like 931 GB.
I think that may be something related to the RAM, but I'm not sure.
Thanks for any help.
Hello
Here is the information on the Dell Diagnostics:

PC, Lr, folders, Action: moving files/folders on the hard disc autour, download WARNING "move files on the disc, if you continue, this move... change... can be undone. question: my original files will be damaged? If so, how can I move files? Thank you
No problem. I think that the warning means that you will not be able to use Undo to bring back the pictures and it will have to do it manually. There is no risk of corruption.

My pointer of the mouse/mouse usually sticks or scatters all over the window
When you drag the page downwards or upwards on the right side of the window, the mouse sticks and I have to click twice to 'take off' it. Often he "hop" around the page up down, left right, etc..
This looks like something that happens with keys touch. If that's what you use, I get a mouse and disable the touchpad.

Recently I upgraded my laptop to one from the same supplier so all I had to do was to upgrade a few drivers on the hard drive. My copy of ADE is unfortunately not too cooperative. Whenever I try to download an eBook, I get the message "E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12". Uninstall ADE (three versions), as well as cleaning the registry does not clear the error. And I can't cancel and reauthorize my new laptop as to authorize is greyed out. Anyone else having this problem?
Problem solved finally. Used regedit.

HP dv9000 vista laptop won't start. Attempt to restore repair result several times cannot be made online. BIOS ran diagnostics, everything was good except the hard disk, hd chk result: replace the hard drive. F11 entered to access advanced hp Recovery Manager options tempted towards the top of the entire disk, all files show while listing to back up, attached to my external hard drive current over the back with success. Plugged external on another laptop, new files since the previous backup are no where. Should I buy a new external hard drive and repeat the backup via Recovery Manager Advanced Options or should I remove the internal hard disk and insert it into a case and apply in usb on another laptop to view the files. I know when my computer crashed, I had too many windows/tabs open and too much process and tried to interrupt a process and I confused his little brain and now he has Alzheimer's disease. I am freaked because I'll lose everything 2012 including some very important documents and about 50 000 pictures HD (yes I learned my lesson backup!) I am in crisis mode because I recently became sick and my photos and documents is vital for my next year of chemotherapy and radiation. Please advice are extremely appreciated. Thank you
Hello
This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.
I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.
It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.
Saving your files:
You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.
Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

Performance of the hard drive, runs at 30% all the time; slow response
Pavilion Slimline works 30% all the time, slow at times, all the time. Run the Task Manager, identified all of the questions.
Defragmentation, historical, navigation can be run. Registry cleaner also run.
Still slow responses,
Suspect still running games, must stop them, as well as other unnecessary programs.
Any suggestions, useful, believe, this will solve the problem and improve poor performance.
Thank you for the comprehensive answer. If the speed is the main problem now, theoretically, upgrading the hard drive would be able to increase the speed up to a point. Of course, this would impact speed of normal programs, programs on the web, etc. I also carefully read the document provided Red Rose, and although it is informative, I don't know about most in this paper has been tried.
Regarding the age of the laptop, age obviously decreases the computer's full performance, and you have little control over this, unless you buy another computer.
I have an idea of how research and troubleshooting have achieved you, but it is only an idea. I'll link some documents with information that you may or may not be useful:

Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll do my best to help you.

the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily.right now my external backup just my computer that isn't doing me good
original title: external hard drivesYou don't want to change your external drive to your main drive.
You can move your music files on the external drive - or you can move other data on the disk to make room for your music on the internal drive.
What applications do you use to play music?
As described in the first link below, you can move your full "My Documents" folder on the external drive. Alternatively, you can simply move your music files. If such an arrangement would give you a satisfactory performance, however, depends on how your external drive is connected (for example, USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, network) and other hardware features of your computer.
Not all of the following conditions will be applied to you, but some of the tips can be useful.
There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space. The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive. You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you. Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.
- You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
- You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
- You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
- You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
- You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
- You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)
- See also:
" How to recover disk space on Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP computers? ."
" Forty ways to free disk space ."
But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long. The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.
In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive. If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location. You can not simply move the files.

I installed my iMac (2009) in Yosemite. He is now on all fours. I intend to do a new installation of the operating system. This forces me to format the hard drive. I have already backed up my data. With further regard to CS 6 and Lightroom is the appropriate mechanism to disable the program and then reinstall it from my Adobe account? Any other input would be appreciated.
Yes, disable it before uninstalling.
to reinstall, you only need your serial number and installation files.

MacBook pro work leave because of pulled and broken wire. I took out the hard drive. the hard drive has all my files that I wouldn't need to clear all of the other personal files?
It does not start to the top, screen and hardware ok except belt disconnected.
also can I sell adapter, brand new, never used. where can I sell?
Hi Wally, the hard disk OS X and all of your files. Get a case for your reader, and it backs up. Try OWC
Always keep your Mac backed up on an external drive with Time Machine or utility of cloning like SuperDuperor double clone.
Try eBay for the adapter.
