Scratchy Audio

I just reinstalled XP and now I have sound scratchy.  I had this problem once before, but I'm getting old and senile and forgot the solution.  I don't know that I had to go to a window and drag a bar at a lower level.

Well, I just thought of it.  East went to the Panel of configuration/sounds, Audio tab and tab performance and reduced the hardware acceleration.

I KNEW it was there.  Perhaps others with scratchy audio must check this setting.

  • Scratchy Audio only when you use Windows media player

For more than a month now, when I use Windows Media Player 11 to play any audio file, the music sounds saturated and rough. The volume is louder than normal. It is on a 5 year old XP PC, and I haven't added new software or hardware lately.  I can play the same files on the same PC with other readers multimedia (VLC Media Player or Quicktime) and I don't have this problem, and it's okay if I use headphones or speakers. I tried to uninstall WMP11, but WMP10 has the same problem, and when her reinstalled WMP11 still sounds bad. I have also reinstalled the codecs windows audio. Any ideas?

Check the audio improvements and put them all turned off:
Begin playing a file and then click the arrow below the now playing tab, point to enhancements, click show improvements and then go through each of the options.

  • Flash Player audio is all distorted and scratchy other audio works fine

Flash Player audio is all distorted and scratchy other audio works fine, I uninstalled Flash Player 8 times and reinstalled. When Flash Player has been uninstalled I did a search for flahplayer files left behind a there were approximately 8-9 files there. I don't know if they can be deleted, so I left them alone. QuickTime audio works great as windows audio system.

You can try to use a system restore to before installation of the updated flash version.

To uninstall flash completely, you can use the uninstaller here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Just a thought... you try to read something that already worked? It is possible to what you are listening to is bad.

  • Audio looks like a scratchy LP

I get a lot of clicking and popping when I play audio on my new Windows 7 Pro system. The source is not serious - CD, mp3 file in WMP, or streaming audio Internet in WinAmp. It doesn't matter if I use desktop speakers connected to the back or the headphones plugged into the outlet before. The noises at different times on each reading, but generally all occur a few seconds.

I tried updating the drivers - Realtek ATI HDMI Audio version 6.0.1.6034 and Realtek High Definition Audio version 6.0.1.6066. The audio hardware is built the card mother Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H. I also tried to disable the sound effects in the speaker Properties dialog box. Nothing did.

    Any suggestions?

    (!) Sounds good.

Also, make sure that it has 3 different revisions (sockets) to your motherboard to make sure you have the correct drivers. You can select your MB here:

  • HP 15 laptop: win Audio 8.1 "corrupts".

    Hello

I never had an audio problem with my laptop until a few days ago. My audio will work very well for a while but then all of a sudden sounds sounds scratchy, lag and damaged. I will try to adjust the volume with the windows volume mixer icon and it will just freeze. I'll try to mute the sounds with the key on the keyboard and it will turn orange as his mute but corrupt sounds will still play and the taskbar icon said its reactive. Also recently my HP Support Assistant will not work for some reason, but I could check the drivers from the HP website and there is no update for the Realtek audio driver. Any help?

    Hi @Jrklingerman ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked into your problem on your laptop HP 15 and scratching noise in audio playback. Here's a documenton troubleshooting sounds if you need it.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Please ensure that your edits were made on the laptop. I would uninstall the HP Support Assistant of your programs and features. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

This is another step to try.

    1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
    2. click on playback devices.
    3. click on speakers/headphones.
    4. click on properties.
    5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window.
    6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
    7. apply properties.
    8. click OK to close the Properties window.
    9. click OK to close the playback devices.

You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. I probably would restore back in this way you are sure to pass before the question had begun in two weeks.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

    Thank you.

  • TouchSmart 600xt Audio performance

I have horrible performance with audio driver problems in my 600xt.  When the music plays in any audio player, playback becomes slow and jerky when do almost anything in another application.  For example, scroll a Web page in a browser, or a new page load will cause audio problems.  I have minimal software and services running and the CPU usage is normal.

A SoftPaq is now available to update the video BIOS series TouchSmart 600 PCs with nVidia graphics cards.   This update should solve the problems that many of you here on the forum reported with sound scratchy or sizzling when listening to audio while accessing the internet.

The update will be displayed on the software and the Driver download page for each model/SKU, shortly, but in the meantime, here is the link to the update on the HP FTP site:

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL32805/PV-81489-2/sp46209.exe

In addition, an existing softpaq can solve similar issues seen on some models when the LAN using wireless for network access:

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL32307/PV-80051-1/sp44652.exe

I suspect most of the questions here will be find the update of the video BIOS is the one that will make the difference, but I suggest you only install the second report as well update.   I invite you also to we do knowledge here on the forum if this solves the problem for you.

  • MBA does not play audio on JBL EXTREME

    Hello

I tried to play music on my new JBL EXTREME of blue tooth speaker that proved no problem on my phone I have 6 s +.

However, I can't be able to remove from my Mac Book Air!

It's 'pairs' very well with the JBL speaker sound!

He has played from the loudspeakers of the MBA.

No music, no audio from Youtube on the JBL; nothing!

I run the latest version of the software, and I restarted the MBA and the JBL repeatedly.

My MBA plays very well with my Sennheiser Blue Tooth headset, so I think that my audio settings are OK. (?)

Someone has an idea of what the question might be, please?

    Thank you!

    Rut

    Howdy MXP 150 Patriot,

If you're able to pair your bluetooth with your Mac speaker, but your Mac continues to stream audio from its built-in speakers, you might check to see which device is selected in now Option while you click on the Volume control () in your menu bar. You can also check in system preferences > Sound > output.

OS X El Capitan: adjust the audio output of your computer settings

Note If you don't see the Volume control () in the menu bar, you can add it by checking the box "Show volume in menu bar" in system preferences > Sound.

OS X El Capitan: increase the volume upwards or downwards

    All my best!

  • Audio stuttering on MBPro Sierra

I'm on a MacBook Pro installed macOS 10.12 retina end 2013 (Sierra).  For several years, I have used a bluetooth JBL of Charge 2 for this portable audio speaker (and sometimes my iPhone and other iPhones).  He has always worked flawlessly.

Today when I hit play on the audio iTunes began badly stuttering.  After several searches, advice and read everything that I could find (especially regarding similar issues on other versions of the operating system as El Cap, Yosemite, etc.), I did the following, without result:

    • Not matched and repaired the speaker

    • Restarted/rebooted both the speaker and the MBP

    • Reset NVRAM and SMC

    • Redownloaded and reinstalled Sierra

    • Reset NVRAM memory new

    The problem persists.

Note: I have also been hang this portable projectors in the classroom for several years via a port mini display to VGA and have never had a problem.  Since the upgrade to Sierra, can I talk to is no longer in the spotlight (my MBP always spoke to my external monitors (via the adapter, even) but not the spotlight.  I wonder if these issues are linked, at least to the extent where they came after the upgrade to Sierra.  Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Moments after the announcement of this question, I went into my list of connection and uninstalled Knock, an application that allows to unlock the lock screen by knocking on an iPhone.  And here, the sound works fine now.

I guess I should have posted earlier, because I found the solution immediately after.  At least the bluetooth problem is now solved!

  • iPhone 7 lightning to the questions of the audio input jack

I often connect my phone to listen to music on stereo systems for listening to music out loud. When I used to do with my 6s, I had no problem with the sound output. Since switching to the iPhone 7 that I need to use the adapter to play music, but when I do this the sound is very distorted and sometimes if you put the volume a bit higher up the music stops. Even with a lower volume, it is still quite distorted. When I use a headset with the adapter and plug the phone into my car is fine no problem and sounds. It is only when I play music on the radio.

I talked to Apple support and they were not really able to diagnose the problem or give me a solution.

I was wondering if anyone else has problems with the lightning to the audio jack connector or something similar? and everyone is aware of any other superior quality adapters, you can buy or if there is a fix by apple to do deal with this?

I don't have the problems you describe at all.

To the extent where a 'solution' by Apple, not sure there is any 'broken' to fix.  Anyway, we are users here on this forum, we would have no idea what Apple would do.  Speculation is prohibited by the terms of use of this forum.

    Best,
