Screen freezes and restarts after repair

Hey guys,.

So I just got my HD Motorola Razr Maxx return of repair Motorola Droid. Before he went to repair, this device has been reset to chance the two stock (no new apps on Store) and custom. This device was not docked or altered in any way other than with game store applications and widgets from Google. Until the repair has taken place, the device had system version 9.18. After that I came back from repair, he returned with the version 9.20 System. I got the camera Thursday and since then the screen randomly froze a couple of times. It is quite frustrating. You guys have any suggestions on things I should try or should I send it back to Motorola for repair again?

Thank you

Brandon

If it was my phone and I had a backup that I'd send it in. Could give them a chance to do things the second time around. I hope this helps.

  • Screen freezes and blinks after the update to 10.11.6

    Hello!

I have a Macbook Pro for mid-2007, which has helped a lot, was powerful and as stable as steel. I've never had or known major bugs since I have. Leopard 10.5 aka El Capitan 10.11.5, nothing to notice. The usual Mac you need: solid, stable and fast. I have an IntelCore 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, Samsung SSD 840 series, the old Fujitsu HDD for storage and a Nvidia GeForce 8600 M GT graphics chipset.

But the nightmare started when install the last update of El Capitan: OS 10.11.6. Update was fast enough, just half an hour, and I'm going, with the last update. I was browsing Safari then my screen blinked once, and all that was displayed was frozen, except the mouse I could be moved. 10 seconds or about later, my system of defrost and I could use it. Until less than a minute later, new flashes and freeze again. And he began to be more bizarre than ever: Safari window displaying strange patterns, with little colored squares, bar menus, very noisy. Hard, I rebooted my Macbook Pro, hoped it was just a random bug. But no, it has reproduced, forever and ever, when browsing in Safari. So I decided to switch to Opera web browser just for a test day. And... nothing happened. No bugs, no frost, no flashing screens. I found the source of this Safari bug, so I went to the opera.

Until yesterday, when you use the Finder to display images using Quicklook. Flashes and the gel. When you are using TweetDeck, same result, flashes & freeze. Even if you use Opera when scrolling too fast: flashes and the screen. When you use presentation and Launchpad. And if this bug to reproduce twice, the display shows a strange patterns, such as Cup-a part of windows, bar menu invisible, etc..

It's VERY BORING. It is the first time in 8 years of work with Mac OS X, I have experienced this kind of graphic bug. The last time I encounter some bugs graphics but much more discreet, and it's in 2008 with OS 10.5.3, which was not very stable (the next version is much more stable).

I know this has something to do with the Nvidia driver. The same lines are appearing in the newspapers when the bug happens, like this:

    > 31/07/2016 10:50:47, 000 kernel [0]: NVDA (OpenGL): exception channel! exception type = 0xd = graphic engine (GR error 5) error

I don't want to hear that this has something to do with the graphic chipset, because before the 10.11.6 updated, I had NO gel or flashes of the screen at all. I had never actually had. And the motherboard has been replaced in 2010 because the chipset was dead.

So, I don't know what to do. I guess I'll have to wait a few months the 10.11.7 next update, hoping that he can solve the display bug. And I wouldn't be able to install Sierra because... Well, my Macbook Pro is too old, so I'm stuck with El Capitan (but that's another story).

Thanks in advance if you have any tips that might help.

It is difficult to say if this is indeed caused by the last update or a (chance) sign is not material. You might be able to work around the problem by installing the gfxCardSatusand forcing your MacBook to use the GPU integrated or discreet, but not automatically switch between them.

  • MacBook Pro freezes and restarts when holding

My Macbook Pro (MacBookPro9, 1 or MD103LL/A 2.3 GHz, OSX 10.11.4 i7) Decides to freeze and restart when lifted with the metal part under the trackpad and around it. It also does the same thing if I let my elbows on the same premises. What may be problem causing it? The machine already fell from anywhere and so, but suddenly decided to act strange. I opened the cover back after this problem and cleaned of dust or debris but did not find a noticeable amount either. The HARD drive has been replaced by an SSD at the Apple Store Amsterdam (Leidseplein) about 3 years ago and the problem has occurred for about a year.

I would speculate that there is a bad internal connection.  Can you reproduce this every time?  If so, you may be able to locate it.

Try an Apple Hardware Test.  It could offer a clue:

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.

  • iMac freezes and restarts 10.11.4 OS

I have an end 2015 27 "5 K iMac. Since the upgrade to OS 10.11.4, the computer crashes for 15-20 seconds then restarts. I took it to the Genius Bar. There was not a hardware problem. They have restored the system. When I came back, I've set up as if it were brand new. I have installed all the latest versions of the applications from the App Store and directly from some third-party Web sites (all Apple certified). Still, it freezes and restarts. This has been reported as a problem by OS X Daily in an article dated March 26, 2016. However, when I spoke with an Apple Advisor what I had experienced, he still do not think that it was a BONE 10.11.4 question. He told the demand for a second session of Genius Bar because he thinks that it is always a hardware problem. I'll take to be sure. If no hardware problem is discovered, I hope I can convince the technology it is a BONE 10.11.4 problem then it gets fixed in the 11.5 update which was seeded to developers. Everyone knows a problem of freeze and reboot?

Hi mtnmn, there are a couple of tests, you can try it yourself. Side software, download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information. Dosimetric, you run AHT using Apple Hardware Test - Apple Support. While Apple has the best diagnosis for equipment, it will be at least give you an idea if there is a hardware problem.

EDIT: in fact, a 2005 iMac does not satisfy the requirements of the system for El Capitan.

  • Satellite M70 164 - screen freezes and goes black, overheating

    Hello world! :)

Recently my Satellite m70-164 started to freeze after only a few minutes of work. The picture on the screen freezes, and a few seconds later, it becomes completely black.
The computer doesn't even have time to warm up, and it's not stop... It's just the screen that freezes and becomes so black. I have to reset the computer by pressing the power button. (I write from another computer).

I noticed that working time reduced whenever I have reset the computer and after some time it freezes even though I am in the BIOS settings, so I don't think it's an OS problem.
Even if the computer does not have time to warm up, this suggests it might be a heat problem.
So I tried pointing a fan this is low (a big, like the ones we use in the summer), and it works without problem!

With the fan facing these, I reinstalled Windows - so no Virus.
Laptop fan * not * continue to operate as it is overheating.
The fan runs and it is not clogged as I've cleaned.

So if anyone has the same problem, or ideas, please respond!
    (And sorry for my English)
    Thanks in advance! : D

    Hey Buddy,

I agree with you. In this case, even in the BIOS, that it has nothing to do with Windows or a Virus. In this case, it seems to be a hardware malfunction

But before contacting an authorized service provider to diagnose what part is the cause, clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This should be done from time to time (every 4 months) and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

Original title: OS time questions continuum (microfeezes)

It seems that my computer freezes for a split second every 3 seconds approximately. My cursor disappears for a split second, and because the clock freezes and restarts, it displays a worst time of the day. Audio and video have the same gel splitsecond. The problem persists in safe mode. Dell Inspiron 1520, servicepack2 of vista running. I've never had any problems with this machine. Here's a video I took of the number: http://youtu.be/fbUeK8U7wHw

I would like to know if there is other info/specifications that could be useful.

    Thank you.

    Good,

    1:
Updated the chipset drivers even though it said I was with the best.

    2:
Run a SFC scan, which revealed no violations of integrity or files not repaired.

    3:
five hours and 8 infected files later, my computer is totally cleaned.

I opened the event viewer, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for. There are many changes to the machine because it began to act up, which were intended to correct the problem. I installed the Service Pack 1, then 2, scan MS Safety and new chipset.

I also ran a memory diagnostic, but all was well.

What should I look for in the event viewer? I know that the problem started in a 12 hour window. Should I save and post the logs at the time?

There is a certain mystery. We need Sherlock Holmes.

    -UPDATE

I have reset the system to its factory settings. Now, it's as if it were new.

The problem persists. He still hiccupping. It freezes again for a few milliseconds about once per second. And I'm going crazy.

    UPDATE 2-

The computer was closed for about 12 hours and when it restarted and Windows initialization complete, the problem disappeared. It works normally for a vintage computer 2007. I'll let you know if I learn more.

  • Freezes and restarts on 2015 5K running El Capitan iMac and am ready to freak me out

    Hi guys,.

If I posted my check and reports being panic, could someone tell me what caused random freezes and restarts on my iMac 5 K - ish, El Capitan running? I am a designer/Retoucher and I am in the middle of a big job, of course.

He went on and off for a few months. I have cleared my startup disk and played fresh OS installs (didn't even use Migration Assistant just to be safe), three times. I installed apps one at a time try to refine what is the cause but could not.

At first I thought it was my mouse Logitech G502 because when I went to an old mouse for a few weeks the problem has disappeared. But yesterday, listening to iTunes via Airplay and working in InDesign, the system froze again.

I wonder if she might be SoftRAID(4) and/or my two RAIDs of 4 external ThunderBay?

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve

  • MacBook Pro keeps freezing and timing after update to El Captain 10.11.15

I have a MacBook Pro, which was previously executed on SCF 10.11.14 2013. I began to see problems before my laptop even turned on! When it is restarted after installation, I got about 60% of the way down the front loading apple bar it has completely stopped. I waited quite awhile (maybe 20 minutes) but no progress on the charge. I did a reboot hard twice before he finally finished (sidenote: both times I restarted, instead of starting at the beginning of the load bar as it should, the load bar would start in the place of 60% that he is stopped at the first time).

It finally comes and I had to open iTunes, Photoshop and Safari so it was very laggy. After working on my laptop for five minutes, the song that I had started doing these breaks, and Photoshop as well froze upwards. I tried to go on Safari, and that's where the beachball replaced my mouse arrow. I tried to use my MB with the only window open (photoshop), but even force weren't no longer works. It just seems to be freezing for longer periods of time.

I ended up doing a hard reboot once again and only with the help of Safari, but this does not work. Hard restart once again tried only using Photoshop and encountered the same problem. This last time, I have Photoshop open, but for some reason, the tools are not answer at all. For example, when you use the Paintbrush tool, you will see a circle in the placement of the classic mouse arrow when you are in the photoshop window. Well, the arrow of the mouse remained and everything I clicked on, as well as two fingers/output action zoom did nothing. Nothing does in Photoshop anyway.

Could someone please, please help me? I'm a photographer and I have a project due to my clients in the morning, and I can't afford this issue right now. I write this on my MB Air, which runs on CBS 10.11.13. I'm afraid to try an install of update on this one!

If nothing can help, can someone tell me how easy and on an empty stomach to downgrade to the previous version of El captain? Thanks a bunch!

There is no easy way to downgrade. He must erase the drive and then reinstall OS X. First, you need a good backup. Or you can try the following:

Try these in order to test your system after each see if it is back to normal:

    1. a. reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

    b. Macs with Intel processors: reset of the controller (SMC) system management

    2. restart the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart again, normally. If this does not help, then:

Boot to HD recovery: restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and press and hold the

Command and R keys until that Menu Utility screen appears.

3 repair the hard disk and permissions: restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the command and R until the Menu Utility screen opens.

When the Utility menu, select disk utility, and then press the continue button. After loading disk utility select it

indented (in general, Macintosh HD) entry of the list to one side.  Click first aid button in the toolbar. Wait for the operation

is over, then quit disk utility and return in the Utility Menu.

4 download and install updated Combo OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.

5 reinstalling OS x: reboot of HD recovery Select reinstall OS X in the Utility Menu and click on the continue button.

Recently, my iPod mini has been the screen freezes while on various Internet sites, and I was also watching a Web site when the Web page is suddenly closed and I am struck to the homescreen (which displays the grid of the app).  When the screen freezes, I have to do a hard reboot because the iPod does respond to any stimuli.  Freeze the screen became much worse after the 9.3.3 iOS and iOS 9.3.4, closing only started after that, the newest Web page updated.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Try resetting Safari. Close Safari completely from the window of the selector app by double clicking the Home button and slide up the preview pane of Safari until it disappears from the display. Then go to settings > Safari > clear the history and data from the Web site. Then restart the unit.

  • Satellite M55-S135 screen freezes and becomes white.

Recently, my computer screen freezes until I have the touch. I touch the screen I use the computer or the screen turns white and everything I type does not register on the screen. I see not the entrance until I get the screen and hold it pressed. Sometimes even if I hold the screen I can not imput to register, it will just white. Anyone know why this happens.

This happens when the displaycable is not correctly connected to the control that is located at the top of the LCD screen. I highly recommend to send your machine to a service partner in your country and let check this problem. It could also be a malfunction of the material of the screen, but not for sure.

    Hello

Most likely, there is a problem with the CD/DVD drive. You can burn a data disc when

If burning a data disc works then you have any add-ons for WMP12?

  • Screen freezes and two rows of vertical bars appear.

Each row of bars stretches from the upper part of the screen to the bottom.  Each bar is about 2 inches wide.  It happens on the left side of the screen.  Has no special function when it happens.  I can be looking on the internet, on a Web site for a given time or working on my hard drive.  I have to 'hard' completely shut down the computer and restart.

Copy other Threads because I ask myself the same questions all the time.

A few basic things you can do to try and isoalte the problem.  First of all, try to get into Safe Mode or "Safe Mode with networking" mode Get safe by pressing the "F8" key when you see the things in the factory.  Don't touch for quick, you can cause a keyboard error.  You can even type it some before Timaeus that the display of fab.   If it works it will give a menu, choose safe out of that mode.  Understand the functioning of the computer in safe mode.  You are not very good graphics, but it is usable.

In addition, and cela I should have started with, do not use an admin account for everyday use.  If you are unsure if you are, you are probably.  If you simply turn your computer and it goes into Windows, you are. (This means that you had no logon).     This is true for everyone, all the time...  Make a user account when you first get your computer or after a reload.

There is place.  I think the vast majority of people with computers to use the administrator account.  It is more obvious to the user.  Before you answer anything I need to know a few things, you are running as an administrator, and have you tried to reproduce the problem in safe mode.

If your in until Admin and something has become corrupted or infected, can be very hard to fix.  If running as a user, usually easy.

So, in your case, see how the computer is running in safe mode.  Make another user account and understand works of this one.  Very easy to do. under control panel, Manager of the user.  If your using a account Admin, do first one user account.

  • Satellite M70-169: screen freezes and meshes + mouse freezes

    Hello
Hope you can help. So far, I'm impressed by my toshiba satellite m70-169.

He has recently developed an intermittent fault: when the tilt of the screen the effect of light mesh on it and the screen freezes. The mouse also hangs at this point.

If I tilt the screen one way or the other I can get it to work properly. A slighy inclination of the screen can cause the screen to freeze again. The problem is getting worse, however.

The machine has never been dropped or struck, but was taken by one of the screen when it is open.

I disassembled the strainer and push gently on various points and cables but nothing in this area suggests a loose connection or a weak point. So I believe the problem is in the essence. I tried to open this up but it fails because I didn't force anything.

Question 1: any suggestions on the problem and possible solutions?
Question 2: advice like how to open the main part, so I can check any loose cables, connectors or broken bones?
    Question 3: patterns for disassembly?

    Hi John

The above user is right. It s too risky to disassemble the laptop without having any experience with laptops.
It is why I always recommend taking to a technician.
