If your hard drive has failed, so that your files may have already disappeared.

You can put the drive in an external drive enclosure hard usb or a USB to sata connector allows you to connect the drive hard tro another PC to try to copy the files from the hard drive.

You can order a usb at HP recovery disk. I can't identify your laptop with the b6b49av that you posted.

See web document this HP if you do not know how to locate the product number or model number.

    Hello

I have a HP G62-b05SD. I noticed that many people have the problem of simmular.

I know what makes, but don't know how to fix it.

    So here it is.

Sometimes when I boot / reboot system screen turns black after the windows logo, but if I wait a while, I do not hear the star tune up windows, but the screen remains black.

I noticed that this happens when I shut down or restart the system with a usb port (be it a mouse or a stick is not serious)

If I all out en usb port restart or turn on the machine for the first time this day here, everything starts well.

So there must be some driver problems I think with usb ports and the screen or something.

    Restore point:

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Screen goes black after the screen "Welcome"... Help, please.

My laptop is a Pavilion Dv6-6118nr.

Whenever I start my laptop itll seem like if its normal startup, then the home screen it's just becomes completely black when it should now display my desktop. With it being bllack, I can still see my cursor, but it is not Flash or anything. I performed some diagnostic tests and even restored back to an early date to see if itd work. Any previous question I have ever encountered with my computer laptop ive always fixed, but this one has really left me speechless. The only reason imon internet is now because I started it in safe mode with network. I know that this has nothing to do wiith my screen or LED bc im of course using the internet today.

P.S My battery is messed up so that it displays a message when I start that ive been aware of & get a new one this week. Sometimes when the battery becomes hot, I'm going out while that its plugged in until it cools. I don't know if this is a problem that is frequent or not w HP its but if someone saw as what it probably could be, very forced itd. Thanks in advance.

As your screen works in safe mode it tells me this is a diplay setting that is conflicting with the hardware.

Start in safe mode and do a right-click on computer and select manage.

Invite through permissions. Once the loads from the console:

Now, in the left pane, click Device Manager.

Find the setting for the graphics card.

Right-click on your graphics card and select uninstall device.

Restart machine and Windows will reinstall your graphics card with the default settings.

You may need to adjust your resolution to your tastes.

Then try to find out what kind of program has caused the problem initially.

    Hope this helps you.

Found information on a forum about how to get to the main screen, battery cable, press 'on' for 30 seconds, then cable back in and turn, but its success and Miss, and when we get we can not restore to a previous restore point. ideas to please because I am not very good with technology. Web site toshiba tried today as is the brand, but he asked the serial number and cannot recognize it, then smolt he could detect the laptop online, but the page does not, do not know what to do or where to look next. Thank you

Thank you for having prepared the answer of the indepth network.

His computer has been allowing us to start in safe mode, so I knew that this was not a screen problem. I tried to follow the link microsoft to start in a clean boot, as I had never heard of this before, but I could find it only for windows xp not windows 7. really, I'm not technical and was at my wits end, failed twice to restore because it says cannot restore because he could not get rid of a file called nativeimages _ windows livewriter?

As a last resort, and something I should have done in the first place, I deleted everything that my daughter had downloaded to play music and watch TV on since the beginning of the new year so that it worked very well. some of the applications must have been with it downloaded that she had never heard of them before things happen.

Once we had all these off (except upgrades) the laptop started immediately.

Still thank you for your time, I was ready to go into a computer store for repair, but your encouragement to try to fix that made me determined to do. very grateful

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.

I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

    What could happen?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.
