screen goes black and moves randomly please explain answer in detail as I use windows 10 and I can not understand the answers already given

screen turns black and moves randomly when using most of the tools of photoshop.  I use windows 10 and cannot follow the above.

Hi Nodstown,

Greetings.

  • What version of PS do you use?
  • Mac or Windows, which version?
  • There may be several reasons for this.
    • Preferences corrupt.
    • Obsolete graphics drivers.
  • Solution
    • Try resetting the PS tools. (See screenshot)
    • Try resetting the PS preferences - to restore preferences quickly by using a keyboard shortcut: press and hold Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS) when you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.

If you can open the Task Manager try to manually open the desktop computer

In the list of running tasks, type "explorer" (without the quotes) and run it.

    Which starts the desktop computer?

If not boot in safe mode and try to load a restore point from before you had the problem.

I am running Vista with Service Pack 1 (I tried unsuccessfully to install SP 2) and this started happening a few months ago.

    Hello

There are several reasons why he has done this for a few mouths.

You tell us when it happens, after what period of time, etc.

Overheating due to the accumulation of dust in the vents, etc., is a main reason for a computer laptop closed.

    Installation of SP2

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

Then choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Pack 2

    Vista SP2 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16468

GoTo all programs search and type in Recovery Manager click that above and open it. Click Yes (white box) so it apears. Select Microsoft System Restore Click next to three windows now you will see a list of dates, select a date prior to the installation of the update, then click. Let the computer do its restoration. Once done see if your problem is solved, if so try the update again, make you that the update is for 64-bit Windows 7 computers before you download it again. If that happens again once you know what AVG is not compatible for your computer.

    ===============================
I don't know what is causing this problem but would be
suspicious, it is related to a corrupted or obsolete
    video driver.

Might be interesting to try to reduce your graphics
    Hardware acceleration instructions
    in the following article.

How to put in back of graphics hardware acceleration
    http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129_How_to_set_graphics_hardware_acceleration_back.htm
(scroll down to: "If you are using Windows 2000 or XP")

If they improve the question, you should look for the
site Web of MFG. your video card
a updated driver Win XP compatible video. Or...
If your computer is a laptop... Search support
site of the manufacturer of your computer.

If you do not know the make and model of your
Video adapter, see the documentation that
    supplied with the computer.

Also you can find info on your video by driver
go to Device Manager: you can launch
By clicking Device Manager on... Start/run and
    type or copy / paste:
    devmgmt.msc
    And then press ENTER.

Expand "Graphics cards" and right click
the name of your graphics... then
choose... Properties / tab pilot... FYI.

You should find the make and model of your
adapter display as well as the version of the driver.

If the driver on the Web site is no longer
    current than you run...
Download and install it. In addition, installation
instructions that should be followed closely
should be available on the support site.

Once installed the new video driver... you
    can restore your full acceleration.

    Good luck...

A few minutes after turning on the power button on the computer, my screen goes black and I hear 3 beeps slow cpu.  It makes me have to hold in the power button to turn off the computer and restart.  This happens as regularly after I've been on the computer for awhile.  What is causing the black screen and beeps?

    Try this:

Go to the Web site of the manufacturer of your laptop computer-graphics/computer card > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
