  • My screen goes black when I plug an HDMI cable

I have a desktop Dell 660 s with Windows 8.  I try to be able to sync my TV led with my pc.  When I plug the hdmi cord, my monitor Gets a black screen.  The only thing that shows is the arrow / the mouse cursor.  My TV can not detect the computer.  When I unplug the hdmi cable, the screen goes back to normal.  Help, please.

    Hello

If Windows is displayed on your TV, you will need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before connect you to your TV. If your computer does not support the type of video connection you need, you may be able to install a new video card that has the right connection.

    Step 1:

After that you have the right cable, follow these steps to connect your computer to your TV:

    (a) turn off your computer and place it near your TV. Unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

    (b) connect the appropriate video cable from your computer's output to your TV.

    (c) turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You may need to refer to the supplied with your television user's guide for instructions on how to do it.

    (d) turn on your computer.

You should see windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you will probably have to adjust the screen resolution in Windows. For more information, see getting the best display on your monitor.

    Step 2:

Try to activate and set the digital output HDMI as default device.

    (a) click the Windows key + X, and then Control Panel.

    (b) click on hardware and soundand then click manage audio devices.

    (c) click on the reading tab.

    (d) in the empty space of reading devices do a right-click and use the option to show all disabled devices, you should get a popup upwards with HDMI digital output.

    (e) If you find digital HDMI output Device, right-click on it and set it as default communications device.

    It will be useful.

  • Computer screen turns off when I plug an HDMI cable

Initially, I had both my tv and computer off. I plugged the dvi to tv and the HDMI to laptop and turned them both on. I had no problems using my laptop I tried to synchronize the computer to the TV. However I must have accidentally hit something in the graphics options as my laptop screen went black. I unplugged my laptop hdmi cable and the screen returns to the top. But now, for some reason whenever I plug the HDMI cable for the laptop, the screen goes black. When I take it on it the screen comes back to the top. I have something that is originally for this change? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • (Dell LCD) screen goes blank when I connect. Requires the switching on of the screen on and outside

(Dell LCD) screen goes blank when I connect.  Requires power to the power on and off screen, at least 15 to 20 times before picture stays on.  Any suggestions? No to the problem site so don't have the model numbers.  Dell computer and about 8 years.

Looks like your monitor is having problems sync-ing for the resolution settings that you have defined for your monitor.  When you get your screen is displayed, right-click on an empty area of your desktop-> properties-> (tab) settings.

Then, in the 'Screen Resolution' area, try to move the cursor to the end of 'Less' and click 'apply '.  It will then try to change to this new resolution.  If your screen is empty for now, just wait about 30 seconds and it will return to the previous resolution (which can mean that you need to power cycle your monitor you have done to get it back)-otherwise accept the settings if your display looks OK.  Try to find a solution that works with your monitor.  It is also possible that your monitor is going bad.

  • my screen goes black when I plug in my HDMI cable

I have never had a problem with the help of my my TV HDMI cable to watch movies from my laptop.  I do not know whether the windows update is causing this problem, but when I plug in my HDMI cable to my laptop, the screen goes black and the TV receives no signal.

Hi, I had the same problem when I plugged the hdmi for the first time that I chose the 'graphics options-> output-> TV' at first by right-clicking on the desktop. Later I selected "change pc settings" section of charms and the selected tab devices add a device and while the laptop was looking I have connected the hdmi cable. This is how I got to the TV screen.
probably, you will need to turn off the TV and the laptop first. Then put on the tv and select the desired hdmi option before you put on the laptop and pressing on the ' logo window + p "or"fn + f4"keys. Lets c if it works

Please perform a hard reset to see if the computer goes off and changes things. Steps to follow:

    • Turn off the computer and unplug the charger. Then remove the battery only if it is removable.
    • Press and hold the power button on the unit for 15 seconds to carry out the static electrical charges inside the machine.
    • Replace the battery and the charger plug it back. Try to turn on the computer.
    • Please perform a default bios also.

Please check in the bios if the bios can be extended to this monitor via a cable HDMI to work.

If please check on another screen as one TV (not another monitor) with the computer for windows startup and the cable connected to the TV HDMI to further isolate the issue.

Please update the bios, the chipset and drivers of this link http://hp.com/drivers graphics cards

  • When I plug a hdmi cable my laptop turns off

Whenever I plug a HDMI cable for laptop may it instantly stops and cannot restart until the cable has been disconnected. I only bought the laptop 4 months that when checking to see if something was faulty output HDMI was working fine; now, it will not work. When looking on Device Manager I couldn't find a driver for the port (is he wants to be one) and I tried to update drivers, but still the same problem.

I have an acer aspire 5738z

Usually, there is no driver listed for the HDMI driver.  HDMI is an output video "high-end" and it is usually controlled by the video card.

Try another HDMI cable.   Try another TV.

If the HDMI port always stops the laptop, you may need to take to a service center.  This could be a------hardware problem.

  • Satellite Pro R50 crashes when you insert the HDMI cable

    Hello

I have been using my R50 Pro Satellite (8.1 Windows 64-bit) for about a year now and there is a problem I'm hard to solve.

Whenever I plug a HDMI cable into the laptop, the machine hangs with a black screen. Unplug the cable does not return the laptop to its previous state and does not accept orders from the keyboard. I am therefore forced to reset the machine.

On this forum (and some others), the first suggestion is often to download the latest Intel drivers, what I did on this site:

    http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/innovation/...jsp?service=UK

so, I am reasonably confident that my machine is up to date in this regard.

I'm sure this problem has been encountered before, I did not find a solution yet.

    Any ideas?

    David

Try the latest graphic driver for www.intel.com
    Also update the BIOS.

  • Satellite U920T - the screen goes black when you drag the keyboard

This morning, I turned on my U920T-10 days but the screen remained black.

At first, I thought the screen was broken, but in mode 'Tablet', the screen became. Now when I slide the keyboard the screen goes black again.

How can this problem be solved?

    Hello

For me, it looks like a bad connection somewhere between the screen and the motherboard.
This could be possible reason for failure to display while sliding in and out.

I guess this can be resolved easily and I think that it is a job for a technician (authorized service provider). I recommend you contact the service technician in your country to get the laptop fixed. I hope that the warranty is still valid in order to repair for free.

I hope that this can be corrected. I keep fingers crossed.

  • Portege M200: the screen is blank when you switch to Tablet mode

    Hello.

Have a problem with my Portege M200 and after hours of searching for a solution, I'm still at a complete loss as to how to fix it.

Essentially, when you attempt to switch to Tablet mode - or if I press the button cover closed 'sensor' on the far right, which is essentially the same thing: the screen goes black.

This means that I can not in tablet mode at all.

What happens across multiple operating systems and will happen even before that an operating system has started. Of course, I checked that when in Windows, the option "When I close the lid" is set to do nothing and I even checked for any cable setting in bios but saw nothing relevant.

As far as I know this has only started happening since I sent it for repair with toshiba a month or two back (motherboard has been replaced I think).

No way to control it via software or am I'm going to have to send it for repair again?

    > Like as far as I know that this has only started happening since I sent for repair with Toshiba a couple months back (motherboard has been replaced I think). Anyway to control this via software or am I'm going to have to send it for repair again?

You description, it looks more like a hardware problem as a problem of software because this happens before an operating system has started. That's why I would exclude a software problem.

In your case I would recommend you to contact the ASP again and explain the whole situation with your laptop.

    Good luck

  • Re: Laptop wide screen goes blank when I watch videos online

    Hello

Just bought a Toshiba Satelite laptop. I installed windows 7, 64-bit in the car. A works well apart from when I watch a video on sites like youtube it sometimes works for a bit, sometimes not at all and the screen goes black as it is turned off.

The computer is still on, but it's just the screen is disabled and any buttons I press it remains empty, forcing me to shut the whole thing.
I installed Internet Explorer 9 and also Adobe more recent flash player for 62 bit drivers. I'm so frustrated! No matter that I just can not read video online!

Have you tested with different browsers?
I recommend you to check this with chrome or firefox.

  • Screen goes white when you move to the next image

    Hello

I don't like bottom black so I changed all white or nearly white. Not sure if that white is the same that appears that would be otherwise black or if screen just blanks out because there is no information about it.

This happens when I move from one image to the next. It has something to do with the RAM? It is a new phenomenon.

    Thank you

    Raphael

I see in one of your other threads you use Lightroom CC on a Mac.

So it is certainly a performance tab.

If this isn't on the CC Ligtroom, indicate which version you are using.
