Screen resolution changes after that computer unlocks, starts or restarts

I'm frustrated with my Dell laptop.  For the past few months after trying to use a higher resolution on my computer, 1920 x 1200 (was 1680 x 1050), he always comes back to 1680 x 1050, that I've had it for awhile.  Yields of resolution 1680 x 1050, when I start the computer completely stop, restart the computer or free sleeping positions, etc.  I am using Windows Vista Premium.  It becomes embarrassing when this happens (back) as a small bubble rises to the bottom say I can improve the resolution of change in 1920 x 1200... GRRRRRRRR

Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

Thank you guys!  I finally found a new driver installation of Nvidia.  Dell does not seem to have one that solves the problem.

All is well now.

Thank you!

Problem: After an automatic update of Windows, my screen resolution has been changed to 800 x 600, where the police has been huge and fuzzy on the screen.  Then, I realize now the display settings only have 5 options, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200 and 1920 x 1440.  The last of them is out of range.  So I put it to 1600 x 1200, but everything on the screen appears stretched.

I tried system 1) at the earliest days of restoration, 2) unplug the monitor and reconnect the monitor, the monitor 3) download the Dell Web site WFP2009 driver, nothing works.

Nothing has similar problems, how do I get the near resolution of 1680 x 1050, which is classified to the native resolution for this monitor according to the CNET Web site, and I vaguely remember what the maximum resolution in the display settings.

Appreciate any help.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi mumimi,

It seems that your system was shipped with Intel graphics card. As several drivers are appearing with exclamation points, I would say that you can download the latest drivers here-> enter the serial number of your system-> select OS--> download/install drivers in good order as given here.

Please respond to the findings. He won't be far away.

    Hello

You can check the status of the display driver in Device Manager:

    a. click on Start

    b. in the run box, type in devmgmt.msc

    (c) in the Device Manager window

    d. expand graphic cards

    e. check if an error code is listed.

    Hello

I use a Tecra M9 with Vista SP 1. The current display to the nVidia Quadro VNS 130 M graphics card driver is 7.15.11.126
My native resolution is 1440 x 900, 32-bit color. (the resolution of the screen)
Sometimes, when the computer comes out of standby, the resolution changes after the sequence to connect to 1280 x 800 and stays that way. I have to manually change back to 1440 x 900. This isn't always happens, but say all of 1 times 2 the computer wakes from sleep.

What is a (faulty) driver problem?

  • Screen resolution changes

    Hey guys,.

My screen resolution changes while I use my computer. The text is the most notable, change to a lower resolution. It seems to happen when I'm using the Windows Explorer, but it's pretty random. Sometimes, the icons in the system tray will disappear too. For example, I have a file open, with a list of files, the screen flickers, the solution of problems and some of the graphics and icons disappear or are corrupt. So if I move my mouse over the names of files, they go back to the right size and resolution. So I might end up with half of the text to the right size and the rest all messed up.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 on a Toshiba Satellite T110. I recently updated the driver of the CPU, Chipset, and I see that I have enough RAM. I deleted the software, run virus scans, malware scans, registry scans, lower resolution and changed the display settings and Windows Update, but it still happens. As I said, it happens randomly enough, it'll be fine for a while, and the only constant I can see, it's that happens when I use Windows Explorer. Any ideas on what to do next?

Usually after installing a chipset driver a restart is required, so it may of happened after I installed the driver but should not happen after a restart or the next time you turn on your computer.

  • Screen resolution changes automatically

Hello, I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium in my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook 2 weeks. And it seems that I have a problem with my VGA (Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family).

Sometimes, when I am trying to boot up my laptop and Windows displays the login screen, my screen resolution change to lower resolution. After login, the problem remains the same more Windows to disable Aero. But if I restart my laptop, the problem disappeared. It seems impossible to load the VGA driver during Windows startup.

I already re - install the VGA driver (had 8.15.10.1912 version of Windows update), also install driver latest Intel yesterday (8.15.10.1930) but they have the same problem this morning. I never had this problem with Windows Vista.

In addition, in my startup program, I only charge 5 applications: Kaspersky AV HD Audio Control Panel and Intel 3 program (shortcut icon from the bar and screen resolution utility)

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • After that computer has been idle, error installation about DriverCure

Get the message box on my screen after that computer remained inactive during the night of DriverCure saying Setup error. I was not able to locate to uninstall / reinstall. I don't remember always to help or even try to load this product. How can I get rid of this?

If you go to start and type msconfig. Then go to the tab startup look to see if you see a program called DriverCure here. If so, then uncheck the box and restart your computer to see if you get the Setup error.

Before going any further, do a manual system restore point.
Right-click on the computer icon in the desktop, then choose Properties
In the left pane, click System Protection
Alternatively, to directly access the System Protection tab, click Start and type SystemPropertiesProtection.exe.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click on create.

If you find DriverCure, then look at the location and copy the path. It would be something like: HKeyLocalMachine\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run
Then go to start, type regedit. Then highlight the path you have copied, if drivercure present in the key, and then delete it.

Then reboot and see if you still see the same error install DriverCure.

Please answer back with an update.

    Sincerely,.

  • Satellite M200 screen turns off after that start & battery does not charge

Hello, I am from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (running Windows 7 Home Premium)

After I press the power button to the top of my laptop, it works fine display BIOS and Windows startup screen.
but after that my monitor off all of a sudden when Windows is supposed to show the login screen.

    Sometimes, the monitor doesn't turn off, but shows a lower resolution (I don't know exactly what resolution, 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, i use maybe 1280 x 800)
so the only thing I can do is, press the power button to stop bad then press power again turns on, my monitor works normally
try to stop and then turn on again in a few hours later, problems still comes once.

from the moment where I install Windows 7, I use 8.15.10.1930 version of the driver (downloaded from Download Center of Intel, which included Assistant TV Intel)
2 days ago, my friend told me that I should install the driver from the Toshiba site support, so I went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version of this site (which is not included Assistant TV Intel)

my monitor works normally after I installed the driver I of csd.toshiba.com, so I think that the problem because the Intel TV Wizard somehow messed with my laptop. But this morning this problem once again, my turns just monitor suddenly...

In addition, this problem seems to be my battery was unable to recharge, my completely reloaded Windows shows, but when I plugged my AC adapter,
There are 15-20 minutes before my laptop turns off automatically

Three months ago, I just brought my laptop to the local Service Center of Toshiba and bought the new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA problem too!)
Is there something I can do (related to Windows or driver/software) or I can bring my notebook at the center of service again?
are they somehow an incorrect wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am I need to replace my battery too?

I use this laptop for about a year and a half and there is nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard

any help would be appreciated :D

    Hello

Talk about your screen, the a graphics driver causes this malfunction with resolution and turn off. Go to the page of the toshiba driver and download the correct Vga driver for your model. I see, you are running Windows 7, if there is no driver for win7, try the vista driver.
On your power supply, you have used for the year and a half and he is released in 20 minutes, there is nothing strange. It's standard for power supply operating period, need to be replaced. Just to be sure, you can check with a new battery. You will see that the trick works as expected.

  • Screen resolution changed with updates

I just stop my laptop and he proceeded to make updates. After the updates, it changed my screen resolution and I can't get it back. I have a 3 month-old HP G56, someone knows how to fix this? I tried to change the resolution of the screen in the control panel and it always looks weird. Thank you all

    Suggestions:

    1. set the DPI

Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > column to the left, adjust the size of police (in PPP) > uac prompt > click default scale (96 DPI).

2 do a system restore, back to the date BEFORE the updates of windows that your restore point.

To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Note: change your windows to MANUAL updates.
After the restoration of the system, the same windows updates will reappear.
Install them one at a time. Check on the screen. If ok, install another, check on the screen, and so on.
In this way, you will know for sure if the updates are the culprites.

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.
