    OS: Windows XP Professional SP3

Monitor: Dell 2009WFP LCD, is the native resolution of 1680 x 1050 (according to CNET review)

Problem: After an automatic update of Windows, my screen resolution has been changed to 800 x 600, where the police has been huge and fuzzy on the screen.  Then, I realize now the display settings only have 5 options, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200 and 1920 x 1440.  The last of them is out of range.  So I put it to 1600 x 1200, but everything on the screen appears stretched.

I tried system 1) at the earliest days of restoration, 2) unplug the monitor and reconnect the monitor, the monitor 3) download the Dell Web site WFP2009 driver, nothing works.

Nothing has similar problems, how do I get the near resolution of 1680 x 1050, which is classified to the native resolution for this monitor according to the CNET Web site, and I vaguely remember what the maximum resolution in the display settings.

Appreciate any help.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi mumimi,

It seems that your system was shipped with Intel graphics card. As several drivers are appearing with exclamation points, I would say that you can download the latest drivers here-> enter the serial number of your system-> select OS--> download/install drivers in good order as given here.

After you have installed the latest updates of windows on 12/12/2012, my screen has changed. All the graphics have been expanded, including the desktop icons, taskbar, tool bars, bars of window, etc.. I checked the configuration of the monitor and the icon size in the taskbar and start menu properties (which remains set on small icons), but I can't find how to go back to my original display size.

  • Black screen on startup after windows update 7 crashed

    Hello

    Hope you can help.

I have windows 7 64 bit installed and everything was fine until last night.

It seems a windows update has been downloaded and when I turned my PC it was installing the update - the projection of the usual blue installation screen updates etc.

It took a long time and it seems to me he had crashed, has frozen I couldn't move the mouse.

Yes I know it says that you should not turn the PC while the update was the installation, but for me, it seemed like it had crashed and frozen upward.

So I decided turn off the pc and he left the next day to check the pc.

I turn on the pc and select windows 7 in my list - I have Setup dual boot

I get the message that windows did not start properly, so I select boot normally - I get the swirly logo appear and then just a black screen with the cursor that responds to moving the mouse.

There's just the black screen with the cursor and pass to the next step of the login screen.

I think because of the windows don't update not install correctly and turning the pc off this contributed to hang on the black screen.

I tried to start in safe mode to see if the same problem which he passes, I can connect via the SafeMode very well and have the available login screen and entered fine windows via safe mode.

I get ideas as to what I can do to solve this black screen?

To confirm once again, this has happened after a windows update tries to install, but as I felt it had crashed I turned off the pc - no drivers graphics etc. have been installed for a long time - only this update of windows

I hope you can help, thank you very much

    InnI

EDIT: Just to add that I tried to do a restore point, but as I turned it off I don't have the option to do so.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried something last night after going through loads of forums.

I tried F8 for advanced startup options, and I'll give you good last thinking setting up a go, known guess what, it worked!

I was able to return in Office windows as usual, I even installed the update that it crashed on the last time, well, I think that he reinstalled the last update, it crashed on... anyway, I think I'm back to normal, but will check it out tonight but if you are still having problem try what I did It can work for you.

  • GUI changed after Windows Update

Updates installed fine (automatic) update, but after a "reboot" my taskbar on the bottom looks like in Windows Me. I do not like and I don't know how to change...

does anyone have the same problems after updates?

Hi PA bear.  Appreciate your advice I thank you for taking the time.

After you have started in my PC this morning, the problem is now resolved itself!  I have the normal taskbar and the theme of return! I didn't do anything more after my comment previous, just stop and went to bed. And now by some miracle it is resolved...!

Anyway, as mentioned, your help is very appreciated and I will make a note of the links etc. for later use.

(Just to note Ref the idea of changing the theme manually to swican, I got the same options that confused cuddlecat - i.e. no vista in the themes option).

    OS: Windows only 10 language

I recently bought this laptop and use it for more than a month now, last Sunday (January 17) windows did her update and since then I am having this problem. I tried to read the forums online and discover that its because of a defective video card driver included on the recent update of windows, I try to follow the instructions on how to fix as uninstall video card driver and reinstalling it, still the same, I have 2 video display adapter, a Nvia GeForce 940 M and the other is built into the Intel HD 5500 graphics card try it on the two graphics card and still the same thing, I try to use the built in function Windows 10 Reset and I have had back display but if I try to lock the screen or restart or shutdown and restart it will return to the blackscreen, I try to press the windows logo + P has selected everything on the way to project the screen, still the same , I even try to start in safe mode and the safe mode with networking, but it wouldn't boot in economy mode. I was thinking of getting the installation disc 10 windows or the media, but before I try to my former installer of windows 7 and it would not even start to optical disc even if I already change its start encode or priority to CD ROM drive Those who have experience dealing with this issue and was able to successfully fix it. I really need some help here. Thanks in advance.

It is one of the big mistake on windows 10, autopilots updates, especially about the graphics drivers.

the best way is to enter safe mode, uninstall the graphics card Intel, checking also to uninstall the software. Navigate to c:\Intel and delete all the files associated with the installation of the graphics (you can delete folder Intel also).

How to enter safe mode, you can follow the instruction for recovery drive:

    http://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-Windows-10

You can try to start by pressing ALT + F10 to start recovery, and then follow the instructions to enter in safe mode or use a recovery/USB support facility:

    http://community.Acer.com/T5/knowledge-base/Windows-10-installation-recovery-media-creation-and-use/...

Then, you will need to disable the automatic update drivers:

  • Screen resolution changes after that computer unlocks, starts or restarts

I'm frustrated with my Dell laptop.  For the past few months after trying to use a higher resolution on my computer, 1920 x 1200 (was 1680 x 1050), he always comes back to 1680 x 1050, that I've had it for awhile.  Yields of resolution 1680 x 1050, when I start the computer completely stop, restart the computer or free sleeping positions, etc.  I am using Windows Vista Premium.  It becomes embarrassing when this happens (back) as a small bubble rises to the bottom say I can improve the resolution of change in 1920 x 1200... GRRRRRRRR

Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations?

Thank you guys!  I finally found a new driver installation of Nvidia.  Dell does not seem to have one that solves the problem.

    All is well now.

  • Tecra M9: After Vista standy, screen resolution changes automatically

    Hello

I use a Tecra M9 with Vista SP 1. The current display to the nVidia Quadro VNS 130 M graphics card driver is 7.15.11.126
My native resolution is 1440 x 900, 32-bit color. (the resolution of the screen)
Sometimes, when the computer comes out of standby, the resolution changes after the sequence to connect to 1280 x 800 and stays that way. I have to manually change back to 1440 x 900. This isn't always happens, but say all of 1 times 2 the computer wakes from sleep.

What is a (faulty) driver problem?

    Kind regards

    charlieMOGUL

    > Is it a (faulty) driver problem?
Perhaps this problem could be related to the graphics driver.
    Have you tried to update?

See European Toshiba driver and update the graphics driver.

    Hello

You can check the status of the display driver in Device Manager:

    a. click on Start

    b. in the run box, type in devmgmt.msc

    (c) in the Device Manager window

    d. expand graphic cards

    e. check if an error code is listed.

    Choose one of these settings:

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
