Screen saver stops running

Hello!

I have a new Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 64 bit license. Now I have problem with power settings.

When the screen saver is runing, after a while stops runing without moving the mouse. Also, the screen is not turn off after some time...
It's look like a few things wakes up my computer.

What is the problem?

Hello

Have you activated the energy saver and turn off the display for this power profile that you use or another function? The point is to make these adjustments for each power profile.
Check this box!

In addition, it would be interesting to know what laptop you have exactly. Make sure that all Windows updates are installed and perhaps that you have updated the BIOS.

  • My offices are reorganizing after that the screen saver is running

    Hi all

I encountered a problem with El Capitan that I lived for a while and don't have only recently started to nail.  Every once in a while (and), my virtual workstations will reorganize.  I have three desktops that I keep open at work all the time.  Office 1 has applications assigned to him, and the other two do not.  However, Desktop 2 and 3 office often get switched.  It seems to happen after the screen saver has run for a bit, and as far as I know, I do anything to make it.  I know that you can drag - move desktop to manually reorder, but this is not what is the cause.

Someone would have seen this happen before, and to know what anyone?  Or have I met an unknown problem?

Hi, I ' m trying to view my screen saver and it seems to be causing "the screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or compatible with 3d graphics." (2030 M-windows7 dell) .thanks Jean-Michel

    Hi John,.

    1. what screen saver are you trying to view?

2 is confined to a specific screen saver?

    3. have you installed SP1 for Windows 7?

This problem occurs because of a problem in 3D screensavers.

Fix error occurs if you have a corrupt hotfix package or may have downloaded the wrong patch for your platform.

This can also occur if the hotfix is included in SP1 and you have already installed Windows 7 SP1.

    Method 1:

You must make sure that the hotfix you download is depending on the version of Windows 7 installed on your computer.

For more information, see the article:

Error message when you set a 3D screen saver screen saver in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2: "the screen saver can't run because it requires a more recent or Direct3D-compatible video card.

Please see if you can copy the file that you downloaded to another computer or location and try to unpack.

When you download the fix, save it in a new location (on the desktop) and the password given with the fix allows to extract the file.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

You can also try to run the display quality Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    Step 2:

You too, try to install the latest version of the Site Web of Dell display drivers and check if it helps.

Hope the helps of information. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

  • I use my photos as a screen saver file. I deleted some of my photo file, but the deleted photos still appear while the screen saver is running.

How is the screen saver for the photos?

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

Note: files or images will be stored in the same C:\Windows\System32\PhotoScreensaver.scr file after the image is removed from the main location. This is the reason why the photos appear even after their removal. And once you navigate and new photos as your screensaver the old ones will be replaced automatically.

  • Screen saver stopped working

Screensaver Windows 7 used to work. Now, he's not coming, or I can put the computer to sleep on a timer. If I start the screensaver on 'Preview', it stays on all day. To address this situation (as well as a separate issue), I have recently restored the computer to factory settings. Still, the screen saver does not. Just a side note, I have not installed any software VOIP.

Thanks for the help! Mysteriously, the screen saver has started working again, without applying the suggested correction. Hmmm... It's a good one!

    Hello

    ·         You can use the keyboard or the mouse wireless?

I know, a wireless device can cause damaged screen saver. If so, please change another available cable device.

By default, the settings are different from different screensavers. Some screensavers have these options to be set in the window of the screen saver, as the text the screen saver, 3D Screensaver pictures, popular screensaver and screensaver of Windows Live Photo Gallery. Some screen savers have no options to set in the window of the screen saver, such as screen saver Aurora, the white screensaver, the screensaver bubbles, Mystify, ribbons screen saver screen saver and Windows Logo screen saver. However, if you want to change these settings for screen savers, you can customize them through the registry instead.

To resolve this problem, I would propose the following suggestions.

Method 1: Try to scanner auditor of file system (CFS) on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 2: Check if the screen saver is activated, please follow the following link to get the procedure.

Enable or disable screen saver: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-your-screen-saver-on-or-off

Method 3: try to change several screensavers and see if none of them works. You can visit the following Web site to change the screen saver.

    Change screen saver: http://www.Microsoft.com/enable/training/windowsvista/saver.aspx

Method 4: A screen saver that shows images stops working in Windows

    Registry warning

To do: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    Method 5: System Restore

Screen saver can also be related to Windows Update, if you have installed Windows updates recently, please perform a system restore (if you have a restore point when the computer run without any problem). You can visit the following website for detailed steps.

How to do a system restore: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/restore-your-computer-from-a-system-image-backup

  • OfficeJet Pro L7650: Disables the settlement L7650 screen saver in win 10

When I install the drivers for Office Jet Pro L7650 screen saver stops working.  I tried to change the settings on the PC nothing works.  When I remove the PC screen saver L7650 stand works correctly.  Reinstall the printer turns off the screen saver.  This happens on two PCs, I have upgraded to Windows Pro 64-bit 10.  The printer is connected to the network cable and the PCs are members of a domain.  Other HP printer drivers have no effect on the idle screen.  I use the "OJ_AIO_L7X00_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5" Installer for the printer.

It turns out that the printer is only a problem caused by another device connected to the PC that is visible.  The culprit was a KVM switch.  Once the KVM has been disconnected from the PC would sleep with the installed printer.  Has taken a lot of time to identify the problem.

  • Why the screen saver does not work in the two screens?

I have a monitor connected to my laptop using the VGA connector.
Laptop LCD is set as the primary display and the additional monitor is defined as the extended desktop. When the screen saver appears, it shows on the main screen. How can I make it work on both? (without setting the external display as a clone of the hand).
The OS is Vista Home Premium

    Thanks for any help!

In dual screen extended mode, Win7 screen saver stops working after unpluging external monitor

I have problems of this kind.

I have listed what I've done to illustrate how to reproduce this.

My OS is win7 32 bit.

    The replication steps are

    1. start on OS with integrated display (it is the system of n. b.)

    2. attach the HDMI (external monitor).

    3. turn on the extended mode and HDMI monitor as the primary device.

    4. set the screen saver 3D to be active and preview.

Screensaver 3D drawing now works on the main screen.

the secondary monitor (built-in monitor) working with black screen.

    5. hot unplug a HDMI monitor.

    6. the display of the 3D screen saver is changed back to the built-in screen.

    7. BUT the drawing of 3D on the built-in screen screensaver is STOPPED (= NOT updated).

8 move the mouse, built-in monitor escapes from the idle screen status (operating system is still alive)

Is this an OS behave as expected?

  • Windows 7 - Live Photo Gallery Screen Saver - filename option, the peak, freezing and will not sleep

I just upgraded from Windows XP. There are a few features that I miss and I don't know if there is anyway to get.
    1. under XP, you might have the name of the file appears in the corner of the image when the screen saver is running. Really useful to find the photos you want to send or ID'ing the image. A way to get this feature in Win7?
    2. the key would freeze the current image. In Win7, he now wakes the computer. In any case to freeze the pictures in screen saver mode?
    3. not sure how much it is related to the screen saver, but the monitor and computer are both set to get to sleep after 1 hour. Happens. Even a day or two later, she is still ongoing.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Here is the solution.  Ssmypics.SCR of the copy of your old XP machine in the directory c:windows:system32 of Windows 7 machine.  then the old screen saver is available in settings.  has worked for me!

    Hi garybuyit,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft answers Forums.

Just so I'm clear, updated you the graphics cards in Device Manager? You have access to a Windows XP installation disc. If so, follow the steps in this document to make a scan of the SFC. This analysis will attempt to repair or replace any missing or corrupted system files.
