Why can't I open INDD files using exactly the same InDesign CS6 product I've used to create them?
 
			 
I tried to modify the work sent by another designer. He sent me the INDD files (as part of the packages) but I could not open in my version of Windows of InDesign CS6. My computer told me that I had not any software installed that could open the file. While searching on the forums, I thought it could use InDesign CC, that for some reason any crazy I can't open INDD files created using the CC version and so I have to send him the IDML files. OK, fine, he sent me the IDML files.
IDML files open correctly in my version of InDesign CS6. Large. They open in the form of documents not saved, so I save them as files InDesign CS6. OK, well. Except that I can't open files INDD, that I just created. Yet once, my computer tells me that I don't have any software installed that can open the file. But how can this be? I just create the files using this software!

I opened Windows Explorer and went to tools >... Folder Options > File Types.
I selected INDD and click Advanced.
I chose the action open and press edit.
I went to Adobe InDesign (for some reason any, that adobe does not appear in Program Files by default, but if I go to Program Files and then type Adobe in the zone file name and touch open then I can browse the Adobe programs).
I chose InDesign and press open.
Then back in the editing window of action, I added '%1' in the application used to perform action text box, so that all read: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6\InDesign.exe" '%1 '.
I entered indesign in the Application text box and then click OK.

I'm not able to open my files Adobe Bridge and I can't drag files to it in Indesign, Photoshop or Acrobat (I think it's the same thing with Illustrator too). More of Indesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat sometimes do not open files when I double click on it in Windows Explorer, Total Commander or even bridge. To open all the files, the only stable is via file/open, which is very inconvenient. What can I do to fix this?
			 
Check after resetting Bridge preferences,

Start Adobe Bridge, and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS down) so that the dialog box will reset the settings displayed, or press the keys Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS), and then luanch bridge.

Select all three options - reset preferences, reset Standard Workspaces and all miniature Purge Cache - and then click OK

Slow opening Excel file with MACRO and links from network on the Desktop view file server compare to physical PC

It's a weird thing.
I just encountered a very strange problem when you open one of the excel files located on a Linux Samba Shared running file server.
My laptop physics has a Dual Core 2 Duo 2.27 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
My Desktop view has 2 vCPU (UC from host to 2.99 GHz/Core with base 16), 4 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.
Note: The Desktop view is located on the FusionIO card locally on the server, so it is lightning fast.
When I open excel file from my physical office, need you 3 seconds to open and 5 seconds to enable the content (because it is a big xls file with a bunch of MACRO and LINKS to a different worksheet)
When I opened that same excel view Desktop file, it takes you 18 seconds to open and 1 minute to activate the content.
Anyone happened to have the same problem with their environment to experience?
Do you mind sharing some tips to solve this?
			 
Finally, be able to locate the problem.
It was Sophos EndPoint AV for vShield that I deployed for assessment.
Once I turned off politics, everything is back to normal.
Couldn't believe that via vShield endpoint was causing all this because I tried Symantec and BitDefender for vShield before and no problem at all.
Well.
I hope that Sophos or VMware vShield team has a solution for me.

I used to be able to open a file by drag-and - drop on the CC photoshop it. It doesn't work anymore...
 
			 
After updating my Photoshop CC my drag - déposer option to open a file no longer works! I loved this feature! What should I put in my preferences to fix this... or maybe it's a problem they need to fix? I use an apple powerbook. Someone please help.
			 
It works for me. Try a reset preference: press and hold down Cmd + Opt + shift (Mac) and run Photoshop. Select 'Yes' when asked if you want to continue with reset.

Definition of InDesign CC as default program to open indd files
 
			 
I have CS6 and CC to inDesign.  I need to keep the CS6 for a plug-in that does not exist yet in CC.  indd files open with CS6 as a default, even if CC is open.  I tried to open it with functionality and look for the CC program, but when I click it, it does not recognize my computer as a possible opening to CC.  I uninstalled CS6 and CC are now available by default, but as soon as I put CS6 back on, no dice.  Any ideas?
			 
Windows tends to use the latest version installed by default. It is theoretically possible to hack the registry to change it, but I have never had luck using the file association that salah described.
You could try to reinstall new CC so it becomes a last installed, or you can buy the Soxy Rorohiko.com plugin, and all your files ID will be oepn in the version they were saved to when you double-click.

I used a program called by Kivisoft to recover my music files on my hard drive. He recovered their property, but they were in the form of a ZIP file with a gz file. I have recently switched to Firefox to Google Chrome, and I find that I can't open all PDFs from the web in some way in Firefox. I can't download them and open them in Adobe Reader and I can't preview them in Firefox, or I can use the plugin from Adobe. I tried to use the solutions posed by users on this site, but none of them have worked. Whenever I have an amendment to the settings to try to resolve this problem, change never allows me to view the pdf file, and the setting reverts to the previous setting after the browser is restarted. I don't like how to display the file, but I need to be be able to see a preview or I need to be able to download it.
			 
I use an adobe download add-on, 3.0.0.2, and I have disabled. Now, I can actually open pdf files in my browser shows a preview, or download them as I see fit. Thank you!

I have no idea what opened the backup files when you have double-clicked, or if you will not quote you took after doing this...  However, the official way to 'Browse' the content of the backup...

You can view the contents of your backup by opening the wizard to restore files.

Open backup and restore by clicking on the button start  , clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance and then click Backup and restore.
Do one of the following:
To view your files, click Restore my files.
To display files all the, click on restore files for all users.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To browse the contents of the backup, click Browse for files or click Browse for folders.

A question... If you manually create a ZIP file (not a backup) - can you still Explorer in it as a folder?
To test... Create a folder on your desktop.  Copy some files into it - of different types.  I say COPY and not MOVE on the goal here - because you can just blow this folder and all that results from this folder later if it was all fair copies of things.
Make a right click on this folder and choose "send to" and "compress (ZIP) file and give a name to the new 'folder '.  (It's really a file.)  On your desktop, you should have the original folder you created and copied some stuff in, and a new "folder" with the name you just gave.  If you open the 'new' folder - you should see the name of the folder that is still on the desktop and go to this folder, you should see the files.  You literally use Windows Vista to the 'discovery' inside a ZIP file as if it were a folder.

Hello, currently my company uses visualization of network monitoring software that allows us to react when certain thresholds are exceeded. We seek to define a threshold for when our UPS reaches a certain point (i.e. a point where the battery is discharged) and we would like to run a script or batch file that stops certain s VM, migrate some s VM for a single host and stop some ESX hosts. We want to create as much time as possible for our virtual machines essential.  I came across this tool and wonder if someone has done something similar? I'm not very familiar with batch files, and I'm fighting to run second and third commands. My current batch file looks like this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe - PSConsoleFile "C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI\vim.psc1" - NoExit-command ' Connect-VIServer VIServer-user 'exampleusername'-'examplepassword' password ' I can't run additional commands after connection. As I said I'm not very good with batch files and I am new with this program.   If someone could point me in the right direction of the execution of the additional commands from a batch file after you have connected the script above, I would appreciate it a lot.
I also would be interested in other ideas, if others have done similar things for the same purpose.

Instead of real orders of PS during the invocation of PowerShell, you might call a. Ps1 script that contains all of the instructions of PS.
To call the script from a command file, you can do something like this

All of a sudden I can't open PDF files on emails and documents
 
			 
Using Firefox and BT Yahoo email on a PC with Vista.  This week I was not able to open all documents including the files PDF come to me on email.  This has never been a problem before.  I tried to empty history as in a previous question, but that did not work.
			 
The current versions of Firefox have allowed a built-in PDF Viewer that has all of the features that other PDF as Adobe Reader readers have or can not work properly otherwise.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox to use another application like Adobe Reader or define always ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications.
You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer.
You can check the value of pref plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types on the topic: config page and delete the application/pdf if it is present or reset the pref via the context menu by default if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not integrated PDF Viewer).

"I sent the two GT ' MYFILE P" and : MMEM:LOADTAT 0, filename orders every time to 4155 B, but failed. May I know what kind of command must send to the communication with the instrument?
Besides, I need to run the content of the file, I should send it OUT @Hp4155; "' XE ' command?
After running, I need save the result in excel file back.
