    a. right-click on the folder and select Properties.

    b. click on the Customize tab and click change icon.

Note: this is only possible in the actual file location and not in libraries.

  • How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP

It is a problem with iTunes. About 8 months ago I had to reinstall my operating system. When I reinstalled iTunes, it does not recognize my music already purchased. He tells me that songs should be allowed, I put my username and password and it tells me that they are allowed.

So I finally emailed Apple support recently. They suggested that this is a problem with the permissions on the iTunes Media folder. Apple support gave me the following URL address: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308419/en-us.

I followed the instructions on the Microsoft support site. But when I right click on the iTunes Media folder, and then click Properties, there is no security tab, with the following statement on the Microsoft Support site.

I also tried the instructions for "If you are not joined to a domain and want to view theSecurity tab. "In Control Panel, I don't have the choice of themes & appearances. There is a choice of Folder Options, but once in the view tab, there is no choice ofuse simple file sharing.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Follow the steps described in this article under together, view, edit, or delete special files and folders permissions .  From XP Home Edition in safe mode makes the Security tab appears. Boulder computer Maven

  • 'Read only' look for files and folders

I think a virus entered in my computer and changed 80% of my documents and files in a 'read only' appearance, even if they are still available to make changes and can be saved with the changes. This has happened after the repair of the system by restoring to an earlier date.

    1. Why do you have this happen: was it really a virus?

    2. How can I go back to the previous 'typical' aspect of the documents and records?

    Hello

What security program is installed on the computer?

Method 1: Strange behavior could be due to the virus.

Since you can now access files and folders, you can run the virus scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: You can also check:

You cannot view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Searching for files and rename the file

In my C:\, I have a number of files, namely C:\myfolder1, C:\myfolder2, C:\myfolder3... and in each folder, I have several text file *.txt.

I want to have a code that go all C:\myfolder* and rename the text in file bin, for example. ABC.txt to the abc.bin.

I know I can do this easily by using the command line. But how can I do this in LV?

Essential is to know how to go through all the myfolder? *

To my knowledge there is no direct function to rename, but you can do this by moving the file and stick with the target file. See the attached example.

  • Economy and search for files and add to the album.

I have an album and worked on a sequence of photos. As part of the workflow, I save a jpg and psd file before final backup. Each saved file is in the folder the original file resides in.

My problem is, when I get back later, perhaps only 10% of the files are there. There is not the faintest idea where are the psd or jpg "worked on".

In addition, whenever I restart item editor, the list of recent files has been removed.

This is the nastiest ever made software or I make huge mistakes while using it?

Edit * just realized the files are there, but they are not now show in the catalogue. The catalogue clearly doesn't update itself, and I do not know how to update.

The other weird thing is that I was using a picture as a background. The folder that resides in, thumbnails of images worked on what I did so far, but with circles with a line throuhg in the upper left corner. It's very weird

When you use "Save as", you must check the box 'save in the Organizer. This saves the new file into a set of version.

In the menu "Edit", "preference" also in the "Save" the article you have "save to the original folder" checked.

  • where can I get additional icons for my files and folders in xp

I need additional icons for my files and folders on windows xp is there a site where I can download for free and instantly put them in the folder icon

    Hi Robert,.

I see that you want additional icons for files and folders in xp. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed on the computer?

    3. what icons are you looking for?

I suggest using your favorite search engine and look for all Web sites for free icons. You can download the icons based on the category and the icon you want. If you have downloaded a package of any icon, click on the downloaded zip file. The file will unpack once you click on it and reveal the subfolders as 'PNG' "ICO" or "Readme." Click the folder for the ICO to reveal the different icons in the package. Click on one of the icons to see what it looks like.

To make a shortcut to a folder and change the look of the shortcut icon:

1 - Open my computer and locate the folder you want.

2-click right on the folder and then click create a shortcut. If you are prompted to place the shortcut on the desktop, click Yes.

3-click right on the shortcut you created, click Properties, and then click change icon.

4 - Click on the picture of the icon you want the shortcut to use, click OK, and then click OK.

Let us know if you need assistance with any windows problem. We will be happy to help you.
