Hi mipurrty1, these steps should help you completely remove:

  • Click Start, click Control Panel, and then uninstall a program. Delete everything related to Babylon.
  • Open Firefox. Enter about: addons in your address bar, press ENTER. Click Extensions, and then delete any Babylon or other unwanted toolbars and extensions. Restart Firefox.
  • Install https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
  • Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This check allows that there is no virus on your computer, causing problems. You can uninstall this program after having cleaned the infections.

This should help to completely remove the Babylon.

You can also try a full Reset of Firefox. Details here:

Try to install this search engine mode without failure if it does not work in normal mode.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

  • Firefox could not download the search plugin from

I installed Firefox 24.0 recently and I am trying to install open www.youtube.com youtube Search Engine by clicking on Add "YouTube Video Search" in the search bar, but I get the following error message:

    Download error
Firefox could not download the search plugin from:
    http://www.YouTube.com/OpenSearch?locale=en_GB

What is a Firefox problem, or a youtube error?

    Thank you for your response.

I don't want to install addon for youtube search. I just wanted to know if I can install the search engine for youtube as before.

After a few readings on the internet I found that the search engine is described by a small XML file which is available through a link on the page. All other pages with operation generates the search engines like Wikipedia or IMDb content is XML refers to XML file. But the link to youtube opensearch descriptor points to an opensearch.osdx file.

I don't know if it's the extension, or if he did not support tag inside but Firefox is not prepared to handle it and add youtube to search engines.

I found this page: http://www.tobtu.com/customsearch.php I copied the relevant tags in the fields of seizure and added YouTube video Srearch. Now, it works fine.

But the question remains: is it Firefox that can not handle the descriptor of opensearch sandard of youtube or youtube.com which provides a defective descriptor?

  • Google search plugin redirects to https

I am increasingly frustrated with the search plugin Google search results redirecting to https.

I edited the xml file Google so that all instances of https were replaced by http, then deleted the search.json file, but my search results always redirected to https.

I deleted also cookies and temp files but the problem persists.

The reason bugs me so much is that my adblocker cannot filter https.

I don't know if it's a FF issue, or more likely, there Google doing the redirect, but a previous version of FF was fine once I edited the xml file.

For any help or suggestion would be cool.

    Thank you.

  • How can I remove the search of Babylon and the toolbar

    Hello

I have restored a dell dimension 4700 with windows xp and its lost. I tried all the suggestions from the community. So I decided since I had yet
No sound after a mouse wireless installed (my mother's day gift) I ran the restore disc again. I improved that is version 8 and added Malawarebytes, AVG,
Search and destroy and plans to add avast and the babylon search tool bar and took over. I ran the scans and entered in the registry keys
typing REGEDIT open the CURRENT USER, COMPUTER KEY, or some THING TOTHAT EFFECT and found search for Babylon toolbar and click on delete.
I wrote all the right stuff I've done, but I left it at home. I've also kept all my responses from the community in my e-mail for future reference. The problem I have
It is now that is to say, continues to break up I get the error messages. This is wh y I do not have the avast. The spybot found the tool of Babylon and supposedly fixed it.
    Thanks for your suggestions
    Sincerely,
    Gina
I am to my friends using his computer

CCleaner is a cleaning tool better than Windows disk cleanup (but windows Disk Cleanup is always good).

If you use CCleaner no need to use the XP disk cleanup.

But it's a good idea to defragment from time to time; say once a month if you are a moderate user

Files out of the place and Windows Defrag puts back them in their correct order.

Think of it as a workbook, where files get placed in the wrong folders and drawers (must find them and put them in the right place every now and again, so that you can quickly find the next time.)

The operating system and the information it contains in the same and the files get fragmented. The Defragmantation program gives the files fragmented in the right place.

Your computer is simply a replacement for the old style desk, typewriter and workbook, etc. in your office.

  • How to use search plugin in your plugin?

    Hello

I'm developing a plugin to add an action for bookmarks. For this I need to search a particular word in the document and the corresponding page number.

On passing through the SDK documentation, I came across the search plugin. There are ways that your plugin can communicate with the search plugin. For in so doing, you must do the following:

    1. Add HFT of the plugin search by registering at PluginImportReplaceAndRegister.

    2. Add the header file "SrchClls.h."

I did the following steps and my plugin compiled successfully. But I am not able to understand how do I use the plugin Serach features to search for a word in the document of my plugin?

    Help, please.

    Thank you

Find is only an artifact of the user interface. There is no API 'find '. You can use the PDWordFinder to return each word in turn, on each page in turn and test your target word.

  • Why does not take account of Firefox with update to version 21 my search plugins installed?

I just updated my browser to version 21.0 and doing so 'lost' among my most frequently used search engines. A glance in the searchplugins folder revealed that all OpenSearch Description previously listed files are gone except for the search engines, I'm missing.
Try reinstalling some of them, I believe most of the missing search engines for sites that themselves do not provide them as http://www.wikimindmap.org and http://www.goodreads.com so I must have got their sides of third-party form, but in the previews versions they just worked well.

Note that if this is the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder, then you must now put the search engines in the browser\searchplugins folder to make Firefox find them.

You can move plugins search of ' < installation directory > /searchplugins/ "to < installation directory > / browser/searchplugins/to make Firefox even find them.

  • Search for Babylon keeps opening in my section new tab when I open a new tab.

I went through most of the questions that have been answered here with other sites where I found on Google, I tried everything and I can not remove Babylon Search Engine as the page that is displayed with that I opened a new tab. I do not understand how to solve this problem and that he it is annoying at several levels.

If it's in your extensions, go to tools > Modules > extensions > identification of Babylon and uninstalling

go to Subject: config type Babylon , and then with right-click on each, you can find select reset

also as noted above, config, find browser.newtab.url and change in about: newtab or about: blank or the page that you want to open when you open a new tab.
