Second drive HARD HP DV8 1110ea problem

Hello

Recently I spilled coffee on my laptop and two of my (2x320GB) HARD drives has been cut. I bought 2 new (1xSSD 120 GB + 500GB 1xHDD) and the thing is that if I put the two of them (SSD as primary) and HDD as secondary HARD drive is not detected anywhere. Device Manager, BIOS, other software HARD drive is not detect it. BUT! the situation is different when I put the disk in the primary and the SSD as secondary. That everything works well...

Is there a way to fix this?

I want my SSD to be the principal so any short smooth (and it does not run smooth)

I know that I can install Windows on the secondary drive (primary HDD, secondary-SSD config) and I did, but he didn't after a while (win Update) detect the boot drive... I tried this option several times and the result was the same.

Another solution?

Ok. So doesn't have this problem, but I did a massive search on the net and discovered that it is the NEW BIOS that is at the origin of the problem. It's not just me
No idea how to downgrade or change or upgrade the BIOS?
The flash BIOS from HP tool only upgrades the BIOS to my current version (upgraded eh )

There is a problem with the help of an SSD / HARD drive in some laptops optical Bay (no brand is safe) and it seems to point to the chipset expecting to see a STRANGE on this port and only an ODD.

When you install or use any other player, he is unable to access the way it waits and causes the machine to hold on to this moment here.

This is the best that I was able to get outside of the redesign of the interface to conform to a SATA plug-and-play and hot plug specification.

My advice to those who seek to replace the STRANGE with an SSD or a drive is to contact the manufacture, talk with their tech line and see if it has been done successfully with your model in the past and what it takes to get there.

  • Satellite 1110-Z15: Question on a second drive HARD and WLan

I have just accquired this notebook, is possible to install a second hard drive for backup purposes? and there at - it wireless card available, can I install it to the Internet etc.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK there is no expansion to second HARD drive slot. In this case, you cannot install a second HDD but you can create a partition on your first HARD drive.
You can use the second partition for a backup image or other important files.

II have also verified the information on the existing wireless and the wireless card is not available on this device. In this case, you can use a wireless USB key or a PCMCIA wireless card.

I have added a second hard drive today for my Toshiba P300-16 t.

I realized that I had a Toshiba SATA drive in a USB disk device that would spare - 250 gb.

I improvised by removing the feet spread on the cover of the second cage to hard disk using a sharp knife. I put the Bank in place ensuring maximum safety. I also used a heat-resistant material (say what) to secure the drive up as readers are rarer than hen's teeth. I made sure that the reader also had room to breathe. The cover was then released and I turned on my computer and it found the new HDD, the installed drivers at home but hey presto! Another 250 GB to play with.

Now, I did it is because I call four FSA in the United Kingdom but they weren't any help by providing a cage for the second disc.
Two said they only deal with businesses and not individuals.

  • Windows 7 don't recognize the existence of the second drive hard unformated. How can I format drive's system does not recognize that there is so I can format the drive to use for backup?

The two HDD are identical, WD750GB. Cannot find how to format a drive unreconized in help.
First HARD drive is SATA and using 64-bit format and want to use the same for the second.

Run Disk Manager , format the drive and it assign a drive letter:

    1. press the Windows Logo + R , type diskmgmt.msc in the box, and then click OK .
    2. right click on the drive and click format .
3 right-click the disk, and then click change drive letter and paths .

I don't know what you mean by "using the 64 bit format".

  • Trying to second drive hard partition...

I have two hard drives and you want to remove 1 disk of the computer to use as the single disc on another computer:

    screenshot: http://i43.tinypic.com/4huxxw.jpg

Disk 0 is the operating system for that computer, and must remain as it is.

I can't try on partition 1 of disk...

    (1) I want to merge the pale green 4.16 GB of free space with the new Volume 5 (N)

    (2) then, divide the resulting partition into two partitions usable sizes equal

    (3) then, put in shape the 40,56 GB of unallocated in a usable partition space.

I've got so far with Vista and Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition 2010 disk management but can get no further.

There are data in DRIVE 2 VACUUM (M) Finally, I would like to keep, but the rest of disc 1 is practically empty.

Any assistance received with joy.  TIA

Honestly? If you do want to use partitioning software third the easiest thing is to copy the data you want to keep, and then simply delete all partitions, create those you want, format as you wish. Much faster. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • trying to install win 7 pro on a second drive hard withwin 8 on the first hard disk

I have a pc with win 8 is installed on the primary drive. I bought a win 7 pro os to install on a second disc. (I bought a new pc after my old win xp but I have a little fuzzy) I formatted the second hd as a gpt in 8 victory drive and when I go into the bios and make the cd as disc player starter set main first, even break, win 7 will come, I hit a button, he said: it's the installation files , four colors swirl around and stopping and there he sits and go beyond.  What has changed the setings bios need? It's a motherboard of acer with amd a6 5400 dual core with 16 GB of ram. can anyone help?

Any reason you to format GPT?

Delete the partition on the second disk, and leave it as "Unallocated", and then install Windows 7.

  • How do I dual boot windows 7 a physical drive and windows server 2008 R2 to a second drive

I bought a new 'high-end' and want to leave the current WIndows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), as is.  I want to install a second drive hard and on this new drive, install WIndows Server 2008 R2 so that I can run hyper-v.  I know I have to edit the BCDEDIT, but EVERYWHERE I look for help on this subject, he refers to a virtual hard disk... I don't want to run Server 2008 from a virtual hard disk... but rather a native installation.  Is this possible... If yes HOW?  I know he's probably changed since the days of WIndows 2000 and WIndows 2003.

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the public on the TechNet site. Please post your question in the following link for assistance:

  • Remove my drive hard slave - a second version of Windows XP

Hello. I bought a blank main hard drive for my PC, with the intention to install XP on it. During the installation process, I ended up trying to install Windows XP on my secondary drive - he was not let me install XP on my new drive. However, the installation on my secondary disk failed. In the end, I managed to install XP on my new main drive by unplugging the secondary drive.

Now, everything works fine, including the secondary drive, but the second version of XP are still partially installed on my secondary disk. I want to delete safely, without deleting all of the other facilities/files on this drive. Probably just delete the WINDOWS directory on the second disc are always going to stay behind?

I tried to boot the PC using only my secondary drive, to delete the windows using the installation CD, but it will not load the Windows installation program, saying there is a problem with this drive (despite me setting the bios, the jumpers and cables properly boot).

So, does anyone know or any other method, I can completely get rid of this 2nd version of Windows on my second drive?

    Thank you very much.

You will not be able to run all the programs that have been installed on the secondary drive, so we are only concerned about the data. The cleanest way to handle this would be to copy the data to an external USB drive, and then just format the secondary internal drive of your current installation of Windows. • Second SATA hard drive not detected by Bios and Device Manager

Original title: second SATA hard drive

Hard drive not detected by the Bios and the device under Vista Home Premiun Manager

    Hi trinitario,.

Because the hard drive is not detected in the BIOS also, it may be due to a hard drive configuration that should be changed or a rider. If you need to get in touch with a Local tech-store for assistance.

Note: change in the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hope this information is helpful

    Hi Defiant1950,

To add more hard disk space, the simplest method is to attach an external hard drive. If you add an external hard disk, it can't function as your primary hard disk where you install Windows, but you can use it as a secondary disk to store programs and files. Adding an external hard drive is a good way to create plenty of extra space to store the digital photos, videos, music and other files that require a large amount of disk space.

To install an external hard drive, all you have to do is plug it into your computer and connect the power supply cable. Most of these hard disks plug into a USB port, but some connect to a Firewire (also known as IEEE 1394) or external SATA (eSATA) port. For additional instructions, see the documentation that came with your external hard drive. You will also need to install a software that came with the hard drive.

  • Pavilion a6500f: can I use my old hard drive as a second drive to the new I install.

I have a Pavilion a6500f I can access is no longer as he continues to tell me there are registry errors.  My recovery disk (I got a) or do a hard reset or else he will start.  It came with a window that says recovery system or start Windows normally.  I get a new hard drive to it and have a whole new Windows 7 installed.  The thing is that I don't want to lose all my stuff on the old hard drive.  So my question is can I install the OLD hard drive as a second drive to the new?  If I can then I can just copy all the files from the old drive to the new and use the old as a memory drive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    The simple answer is Yes.

    (1) I would like to replace the hard drive with the same drive size or larger. But does not exceed 2 T.

    (2) I hope you made the original recovery DVD set the original recovery firstly, DVD media DVD + R try as these will save you having to create a driver disk.  If you really have to buy a complete set of recovery, get it here. It will have all the necessary drivers.  Only $27.00

    (3) I copy the files and destroy the old disk. Its usefulness is damaged since 2008.
