Second FireWire PCMCIA card does not work on Satellite A110-178

Hello!
I tried to use the PCMCIA card as the second controller FireWire from different producers, but they can't take it.

I really need the second FireWire controller on my Toshiba Satellite A110-178.

Thanks Ben

Hello

The Satellite A110-178 PSAB0E supports a Cardbus 32-bit / PC - Card 16-bit slot and you can ONLY use cards PCMCIA type II

Please do not forget that your PCMCIA firewire card supports hardware specifications listed above.
If not; you will need to purchase another compatible!

Best regards

  • Satellite 2410-413: USB2 PCMCIA card does not work

Hello. This is my first time on a forum, and my English is bad.
I tried to install a card PCMCIA 4 port USB 2 (hw & sw) on my Satellite 2410 413 in order to use a dongle of DTV (hw & sw).

This will not work: ports seem to be declared straight into the computer, but in fact, a simple key memory 64 MB USB-2 [a Sony "micro-vault" key), won't work, and neither will the Winfast DTV dongle.]

Paradoxically, both the key mem will work on any of the three USB-1 ports, and the DV dongle will light on any port USB-1. The PCMCIA 4 port USB 2 card is new. I can't locate the source of the problem.

Could someone help me with this issue?
Thank you in advance for your answer. Here it is (maybe?)
Another way of formulating the question: how USB ports are managed by the system?

    Hello Rasta

Sorry, but I think that this issue should be the right one for producer PCMCIA. Try to visit the support page. You might find answers.
Believe me on this path it is not easy to say why this happens. Toshiba is perhaps responsible for the functionality of PCMCIA card, but not used the card.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite 105-S157: USB 2.0 via a PCMCIA card does not work

I installed the pcmcia card with BIOS update V2.1 and work under WIN XP sp2.
It seems to work normally in Device Manager, but when I plugged in the USB, it may not recognise.
If I can access usb PCMCIA ports.

This laptop does support USB 2.0?
How can I make it work?

    Please help?

    Thank you

    Hello

It is a brand new model Toshiba and I guess that it supports high speed USB 2.0.
Sometimes, the operating system can not recognize external USB devices due to the limitation of power. The fact is that the USB port gives the 500mA. It is a standard value.
If the USB device use a higher power, the OS cannot recognize and activated the device.
In this case the external power supply is necessary. Another possibility is to use the USB hub with an external power supply.

  • USB does not work on Satellite A110-294

    Hello

I must first apologize because my English is not perfect, so I'll use simple words.

A friend has a problem with its ports USB on a Satellite A110-294. I try to solve the problem, but without success until yet.
I did a fresh install of windows XP with the toshiba installation CD, but it does not solve the problem. Then I try to remove usb devices in system properties, but there is a problem when I try to remove the usb host controller. System freez and nothing works no more! I remove hub root, but it works.

I try to download some difficulty for usb with SP2 problems, but the prob still here. I saw there are some updates to INF files for some chipset intel but it is impossible to find the update intel celeron chipset. Update the BIOS to 1.70 and no result.

I try to look for some drivers for the motherboard of toshiba but I can't find anything.

What can I do to fix this?

Satellite A110-294 belongs to the series of PSAB6E.

On the Toshiba site, you won't find a chipset driver because it s built into the display driver for this model (chipset). You don't need a driver chipset Intel, this laptop has an ATI graphics chip and chipset.

Then try to update the display driver:

    Thank you very much

Check if it works in Windows XP? Perhaps you should try and install the drivers for the touchpad with the admin rights.

Have you tried to download the drivers again? I can sometimes happen that packets are corrupted during the download.

  • New Intel 6300 Wlan card does not work in Satellite P850/49

    Hello

I recently installed a new wifi card on my laptop in order to give him a dual-band support.

However, while all goes well in terms of hardware and driver installation, the computer fails to actually use the wifi card and insists on the fact that the card is 'off', even if it is enabled in the Device Manager, the computer recognizes and the computer is not on the airplane mode.

There is no physical switch on the laptop or the card, the function key does nothing (except the conversion between flight mode and without work), and even diagnostics insist that I need to "activate the wireless feature.

    Help?

Not great if you want to be able to get this card.
In many cases new modules and hardware parts don t work because of compatibility issues. Even if the module supports the Mini PCI standard, this means that all card mini PCI Wlan would be compatible. It is a big misunderstanding.

However, I found some interesting tips on the page of Intel:
    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/sb/CS-025332.htm

    What you could do is:
In Control Panel > network and Internet > network connections, right click on the adapter. Check if the adapter can be set to the it.

Alternatively, you can try to install the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility
You can enable or disable the wireless radio in the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility main window. The status icon on the main window displays the current state of the radio. In the main window, click on WiFi or WiFi turn off to enable or disable the radio.

In which case it wouldn't work, I guess that the laptop cannot turn on the wireless network card because of the allocation of the different pins.
For example, some mini-PCI WLan cards needs to hide the axis 20 (thin strip of electrical tape and it is stuck on the 20 PIN) in order to obtain this permit.
Google search for mini pcie pin 20 and you will find that you are not the only ones with this problem.

  • 4 GB SD memory card does not work on Satellite Pro a series

    Hello
I would like to ask if it is possible to use the card of 4 GB SD memory with internal card reader.

  • P20-552: 2 GB SD card does not work.

I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4), which is about 18 months old. I recently bought a digital camera (IxUS 750) barrel with a 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II SD card and the combination does not work well. Although I can transfer images from the camera to my Toshiba laptop with a USB cable, sometimes, I would use the SD slot on the laptop, but there seems to be a problem: seconds after pressing home the SD card in the slot, I get the message "disk is not formatted - do you want to format it now?". I said OK but then I get the message "cannot be formatted disk in drive E".

The card continues to work perfectly fine in my camera and on my iPaq Pocket PC. In the Toshiba SD card works quite happy with Sandisk card of 256 MB SD, which is usually in my PDA.

Anyone has an idea why the 2 GB card does not work in the Toshiba? It's updating a driver - I watch the other day but I couldn't find anything that seemed appropriate, but I might well have forgotten something...

I'm running XP Home Edition (SP2) and are automatic updates IT. I have Norton Virus and Zone Alarm running and have no problems with other software/applications - at least, no problem, as someone suggested to suck my laptop overheating a few weeks ago ;-)

    Thank you, Brian.

It seems that the unit doesn t support this card.
See your user manual. You will find an information that this device supports only the following SD card formats: Mo 8/16/32/64/128/256 and 512

According to this document, the 2 GB are high.

I have a Satellite XC 250895 Q. Windows 8 keeps giving me a message that my graphics card does not work correctly.

I haven't noticed any problem with the graphics.

    Hello

  • Satellite M200 Flash card does not work?

My new laptop Toshiba M200 (works on Vista) continues to display an error message that my Flash card does not work and that the system is looking for solutions.

Other threads in this forum, I understand it could be a driver problem, but there seems to be no suitable driver available for download for my M200 model.

    Who can help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

When you reference the Flash card, I assume you mean the utility toshiba Flash Cards. in this case, I would say that you reinstall (i.e., uninstall and then reinstall) relevant Toshiba Value added Package for your laptop model. to locate the relevant Toshiba VAP, visit your regional toshiba driver. This should solve your problem, such as cards Flash requires the installation of files for your Fn + F keys (for example by pressing Fn + F6/F7 fades and lights up the screen), so I think that Vista is looking for solutions as the Fn keys could be involved. After installation, you can disable the startup Flash cards when the computer starts up, but do not uninstall the toshiba VAP.

    This should help your question
