I have Windows XP SP3 OEM CD. I want to use to create a 'new' Windows XP OEM CD slipstreamed which would include at each update published security for XP since Service Pack 3. After researching this project for a bit, I noticed that an unholy amount of security updates have been released since Service Pack 3. My main question is how can I get all these security updates without having to monotonous download each individually? Or is this the only way? Is there a website that is legitimate and can be trusted who was respected and compressed these updates of security in a single file that can be downloaded? How can I incorporate these security updates? It is even possible to integrate these security updates or would they simply be performed one after the other during the installation of Windows XP?

XP repeatedly tries and fails to install several security updates, some involving Microsoft.NET:, KB2789643, KB2729450, KB2742597, KB2656352, KB951847, KB2804577, KB2604092, KB2756918, KB2742596
Please answer each of the following [admittedly tedious] diagnostic questions in a list numbered corresponding type in your very next answer, preferably without quote my post:
1. What is the full name of your application or the installed antivirus security suite and when (date about) is your subscription current expires? What (other than Defender) anti-spyware applications are installed? What third-party firewall (if applicable)?
2 a Norton or McAfee application ALREADY installed on the computer?
3. do you have a free trial Norton or a test of free McAfee [CHOOSE ONE ANSWER] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).
4. open Add/Remove Programs and make sure that Show updates at the top is checked (and leave it checked); then select the name in the box sort by on the right. Now do scroll down & tell me if ALL the other updates following up-to-date are listed?
(a) KB2838727, KB2839229, KB2829361 & KB2807986;
(b) KB2797052, KB2780091 & KB2802968;
(c) KB2758857 and KB2727528;(d) KB2393802 and especially Update for Windows XP (KB971029).
Most will appear as Windows XP security update , followed by the number in brackets.
If IE8 is installed, one (1) appears as a security for Windows Internet Explorer 8 update , followed by the number in parentheses.

Computer stops after the installation of security update KB2393802
I'm 'rebuild' an old computer Gateway E-4600, to give via a local social agency.
OS is XP Home, and the product ID of the COA is valid.
I'm writing this, I'm in the middle of the 3rd attempt to get all of the updates to install * without * preventing the closure of the computer. Each facility has given me minor differences in available updates, but I was not sufficiently detailed records of what was suggested to be more precise in these differences. I'll know better here on out! Laughing out loud
I didn't know that a problem existed in the judgment until I was almost done with the first reconstruction, which included the installation of the software.
During the reconstructions of the second and third, I largely used the system restore to isolate any problem and found the following:
KB 2393802 for Windows security update prevents the computer from closing with the closure of the XP Start Menu or Task Manager. The only way I found to stop it is to hold the power button on or unplug the computer. I don't actually unplug the unit, but that obviously has to work! Laughing out loud
More interesting still, the article refers to Intel and AMD graphics cards, and this computer has a graphics card from NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (via Belarc Advisor).
I'm still trying to find an answer online, but nothing so far.
I can't give this with this problem :-(
I would like to know the answer to one or both of the following questions:
- Why Windows/Microsoft Update tells me to install an update for a graphics card that is not installed in the computer?
- How can I prevent Windows/Microsoft Update listing and want to install the update that is as a manual or automatic installation install?
Thoughts and suggestions?
Yes, I'm still 'watching' this thread.
My answer 11 - Aug 31 is still standing.
Hi, PA Bear.
Hallelujah, it's fixed! : grin:
While working with the technical support of MS, I discovered by chance that the computer turns with KB2393802 installed if the computer is disconnected from the internet. AKA, unplug the Ethernet cable from the computer.
Finally, I started to wonder if the question can be hardware and not software.
So I started picking at glitter and for me, it means generally try the easiest to accomplish the solution first. Laughing out loud
It was a replacement of the CMOS battery, but that didn't work. I really didn't think he would, but hey, it was the best thing to do.
I was going to swap hard drives, with a new installation of Home or Pro, but then I realized that it was still easier to swap the Ethernet card.
I deleted the Linksys card (the latest version of the driver is already installed) system drew the card and dug an old map SMC EZENET of the pile of junk. (Who doesn't have a lot of junk! LOL) went scrounging for a driver online and got that installed, then used the device to update manager the driver, and the rest is history.
I shut down the computer at least 10 times since (I kept a detailed log and when I hit 7 successful stops I stopped making new entries) and it worked fine every time.
This could be something to the file in memory banks trivia! Laughing out loud
Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Error code 8E5E0147 for installation of windows security updates
Hello. I noticed that no new updates have been installed on my computer (with the exception of all updates for Windows Defender but also the recent Microsoft .NET Framework Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework family updates). Everything else, like security updates, have failed since January 13, 2009. I saw someone else who has had this problem for 9 months. The error code is 8E5E0147. Wndows update download and try to install the updates. However, once completed, it says "failed". I worry because my computer is not updated for April fool virus. Can I get any help here? I heard people say that maybe I need to ask a Windows installation CD.
Thank you, Martin. The thing is that my .NET and service packs would have to install. Don't forget that my problem was not downloaded from the update, but the installation. I think I found the answer. My Norton Internet security and Antivirus had expired. When I got Windows security updates, I had no program to receive these updates. I renewed my subscription, and everything worked. It has not been easy. However. I had to keep doing updates on Norton security until I received the message "no new updates were found" after that, I got all the new definitions and update of WIndows was allowed to install thanks to the new KB for your help.

After weeks of searching, I finally decided to seek professional help here... As an important aside, the resolution of this problem is necessary for me to install iTunes (10.0.1) which systematically fails "dissemination of product information. Based on my research online, this problem is rooted in problems with Windows Update. Which brings me to my question...
(1) KB977185 & KB981852 security updated repeat successful loop Installation
KB977185 and KB 981852 updates (both "Security Update for Windows 7") "installed successfully" by Windows Update of dozens of times since the 20/08/2010, always as a pair.
(2) KB954430 & KB973688 failure
KB954430 ("day of security for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2") and KB973688 ("update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2") attempted to be installed by Windows Update and not the dozens of times since 08/19/2010. Strangely, it seems Windows Update gave since 26/08/2010, because the most recent entry 'Fail' and Windows Update did not try to download and install since then.
This whole ordeal has been extremely frustrating. Can someone please?
Also, my computer is: Dell Latitude E6500 laptop, Windows 7 Enterprise, Intel Core Duo 2 processor T9600 2.80 GHz, 32-bit operating system. Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus protection.

Original title: at Microsoft course to resolve this ONGOING problem, & VERY BORING PROBLEM with his Windows security updates?
Morning everyone,
There was considerable number of complaints about the failure of Microsoft to solve the problem with its updates of Windows, including updates security for XP, Office 2003, the removal tool malicious and the infamous KB2538242! I saw these varied complaints not just here, but on some other sites as well forum.
In the evening of Tuesday, July 12, 2011, I once more has received notification of Update icon in my taskbar and clicked on it to start the updates. According to the list, there were 5 so-called updates downloaded & installed... as shown below: (my auto-mises update is updated every day at 01:00):
KB2555917 (a security update for XP)
KB2538242
KB2493523 (a security update for Office 2003)
KB890830 (updated Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool)
KB2507938 (a security update for XP)
SUPPOSEDLY... .these updates have been installed. But, just as happened previously, Microsoft Update icon still reappears in my taskbar within 20 minutes the so-called updates being completed! Yet once, I went through this cycle of "download & installation" these supposed updates 4 different times before visiting the account that Microsoft has NOT YET SOLVED THIS CURRENT QUESTION! There is absolutely NO help is available, whether of Microsoft at all... except if you're loaded with money to spend on paying them to offer some apology for the problem. Here ARE the UPDATES security AND in accordance with the PROTOCOLS of MICROSOFT, MICROSOFT IS supposed TO BE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE QUESTIONS OF THIS TYPE!
When the problem instead of turning its back on its customers with the blade go Microsoft to wake up and solve this problem continues is to excuse this "oh, there is no support available for these security update issues... unless you are willing to PAY SOME COSTS FOR the SERVICE? (It was the response I got from one of the support staff for the customer to Microsoft by phone, said by the way!)
You VERY DEFINITELY have an ongoing responsibility to your Microsoft customers. What you do to solve this maddening, growing problem, and how a Win XP SP3 client can get any help?
Welcome & thank you for your comments.
Please keep us informed of any progress you make, Pete.
