Select the address on the new tab bar

When I create a new tab, I have my selected search box. How do I change the settings so there will be an address bar selected instead of the search box?

You can set the new tab through the pref browser.newtab.url page on the topic: config about page: vacuum or another page that is not a search bar and set the home page to a page of your choice.

You can middle - click the Home button in the Navigation toolbar to open the home page in a new tab.

I see is more a new tab when I have a tab in FF 3.6 and 4.0 running, when I opened a site in a tab, then a new tab appears automatically to the right of the tab in use... I want to be able to open a new tab without going through an open search window. I don't like new tiny 'file above it don't help me. I want the option to click the Refresh button bit. How to get back to what I had before?

I don't know what happened to your menus and toolbars. Has this happened after an update of Firefox, or a change in your add-ons?

    (1) you can switch between the Firefox button orange with its abbreviated menus and the classic menu bar, by using the following text:

ALT + v (open the menu Classic view) > toolbars > Menu bar

    (2) in the new tab, you wanted it is empty? Are there currently AVG research? If you want to get rid of the search for AVG, you probably have to disable to remove one or more modules from here:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > category: Extensions

    Does make a difference?

    (3) the reload button is nestled at the end of the address bar, after the star icon and the drop-marker. If you prefer that your button to reload on the bar itself, you can do that using the personalization feature.

ALT + v (open the menu Classic view) > toolbars > customize

In order to avoid the button reload to slip into the URL bar, you can perform the following actions:

    • Move the button reload for the left side of the address box
    • Move another button between the address box and reload
    • Move another button between the reload and stop buttons
    • Reverse the order of the reload and stop buttons

Do you mean when you open a new tab, you want to see your regular home page instead of the page of the new integrated tab on Firefox?

41 of Firefox is no longer uses the browser.newtab.url setting in about: config because he was constantly attacked by malware. From 41 of Firefox, you need an add-on to change the new tab page.

Here are a few options (I'm learning more all the time):

    • If you are already using the "Restorer of classic theme" or "Tab Mix Plus" extension: There is an option somewhere (!) in his dialogues of the parameters to select another page in the new tab.

Use only one of these methods at the same time, otherwise there may be conflicts and dysfunctions.

Setting up substitute new tab and new tab custom

After installing one of these extensions, you must use the Options page to set the new desired tab page (instead of use subject: config).

Open the page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a (Mac: Cmd + shift + a)
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the side right, find the new tab replace or custom new tab and click on the Options button. (See first screenshot attached).

    New tab Override

Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to scroll down to enter the address in the form. (See second screenshot attached). For example:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Then tab or click this form field and you can test using Ctrl + t.

    Custom new tab

It is easy to enter your favourite homepage address. If you check either of the boxes, the expansion will set the focus in the page as well, for example, the cursor will be in the Google search box. (See third screenshot attached). I had to leave Firefox and start it up again before new custom tab started working, but this may have been due to tests so many extensions back to back.

    Success?

  • The new tab button has been hijacking

I've updated Auslogics Registry Cleaner. Companion Web of Lavasoft has been automatically downloaded and installed on my computer. He seems to have changed Firefox: whenever I try to open a new tab, the search engine Bing opens automatically in the new tab. I was able to stop this behavior by removing the choice of search engine Bing. Now my home page opens automatically in the new tab when I click on the + to open a new tab.

Type of topic: config< enter > in the address bar.
If a warning screen is displayed, press the button to be careful .
At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.newtab.url
This indicates what to show when a new tab opens Firefox.
If you want, right click and select Edit. You can change the setting

    topic: Home (Default Firefox homepage),
on: newtab (displays the more visited sites),
    Subject: vacuum (a blank page),

  • How can I put ONLY 9 tabs, NO 15, on the new tab Page?

How can I put ONLY 9 tabs, NO 15, on the new tab Page?
(First OFF... Please do not read this as being written by an angry person.) I'm just frustrated with the browser that I liked for years. I hope someone can help me)
For a long time, I had my Firefox (version 33.0.2 - even if I don't remember getting mentions "update") defined so that every time I clicked on the tab new symbol '+' to create a new tab (which has the "new tab Page" on that), the NINE inch nails would be shown for my SELECTION and PIN sites. I LOVED!
Yesterday, I opened Firefox and NOW when I click on the '+' to open the new tab Page... FIFTEEN thumbnails appear, 5wide x 3down, (and to be honest I probably would have the habit of 15! ha).
Here's the PROBLEM: NONE of the thumbnails are "compressed". They ALL have "liberated" up yellow icon to the left and clicking on does nothing to remedy this of course. Other that THAT, everything else behaves normally. (that is to say moving the thumbnails, deleting, swap... I just can't pin THEM!)
FINALLY, I prefer my 9-repositionable decals on the new tab Page.
I went through ALL the options on the side, upside down and backwards, and I just get more frustrated.
    Can someone help me?

    Hello

If you can see all your tiles, you can change your settings in settings page:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.
    3. Search for browser.newtabpage.columns and change it to 3, or however many columns you like
      • Note: browser.newtabpage.rows allows you to change the number of desired lines as well

You can also set a fixed number of tiles with the following extensions:

  • What is the default setting for the homepage of the new tab in firefox?

My browser has been hijacked, I need to reset and I don't know which is the default setting. I would use the new firefox tab layout.

    See:

The URL of the new tab page is on: newtab

The build-in home page URL is on: home.

If there is a problem with the build-in on: home page and then try to reset the search engine used on the subject: homepage.

Reset the pref browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone through the context menu by default on the topic: config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the on: default home page.

    1. Open the topic: config page through the address bar
    2. Type in the filter bar: mstone
    3. Right-click on the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line, and then select: Reset
    4. Close and restart Firefox

If this did not help, then remove the button Delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder and repeat the foregoing.
