  Thunderbird has worked perfectly on 9/3. This morning all of a sudden I can't send e-mail. The message is: an error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: authentication is needed before sending it [R0107005]. Please make sure that your e-mail address is correct in your e-mail preferences and try again.

  I made no changes between 9/3 and 9/4

  any help appreciated, have been using Thunderbird for many years.

  Everytime I try sending mail through Gmail FF 18.1, I constantly get the error message "you action failed. Please try again ". I have to use the HTML view in Gmail that I really hate. I tried the Mode without failure of Firefox as well but not good. Please fix this for me.

  This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are not sent or otherwise blocked.

  Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

  "Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

  'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

  Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  When I try to send an e-mail by using the Earthlink webmail, I get a message saying 'send mail error. Your email may not be sent. Please try again.

  Thanks again, VW. I think that the problem has been resolved, hopefully permanently. I uninstalled FF and then reinstalled without maintaining the previous settings. I have already imported the bookmarks of a computer sister who has the same info as this one. I'll put day of passwords and stuff as I go along. Thanks again. kevansja

• The choice of 'FROM' disappeared when sending mail.

  The 'FROM' selection disappeared when sending mail so I can't choose any alias, and all mail is now sent from my main account 'ME '.

  Aliases are also missing in the area of ACCOUNTS in PREFERENCES, and can't do their restore the Mail way freezes when I try and press Done and have to leave Mail to clean.

  All aliases receive mail perfectly ok.

  How to send mail to a whole group without entering each address individually. My contacts has groups already and there used to be a way to do in previous versions by clicking the 'contacts' icon But now I can't find another thing the sign in a circle + and this only adds 1 person at a time. Trying to customize my toolbar, but no contacts Options icon.

  Click on the sign '+', and then the groups will be listed to the left under "all the Contacts.

  You will need to go into the settings of e-mail account and enter a password for your outgoing mail server, same password entering your mail server.
