Sense of "hybrid sleep".

I have Windows 7 Professional x 64 running on a new desktop computer.

I'm not really sure what is meant by the term "hybrid sleep".

This means that State of my computer work is saved in RAM and on the hard drive?

Or means that job status is saved in RAM and then later , after a number specified by the user to hours, "wake up" and saves the State of work on the hard drive of the computer?

Or maybe it means something else entirely?

«.. . the computer passes to S3 and then, after X minutes, wakes up and goes to S4"is the correct answer.

    Hello

It seems that this function is not available in Windows XP.
Hybrid sleep is only supported by Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The main difference between hybrid sleep and sleep is that hybrid sleep, the RAM is also saved on the hard drive, so that in the case of a power outage while the computer is in hybrid sleep, it can still recover.
Hybrid sleep is a combination of sleep and Hibernate. In XP, you can hibernate (recorded on the disk contents of RAM) by pressing SHIFT, the closing dialog box; the stand-by button will turn into a Hibernate button. (However, it will resume as fast he does it since yesterday.

    Hope this helps

  • When I put my Vista laptop to sleep (or hybrid sleep), it turns off the hard disk completely?

The reason why I ask, is that if the hard drive is completely off then I'd feel sure put my laptop in its case and then walk with it (possibility of jerking around as if he were completely off), but if the hard disk is still spinning and then I don't want to treat it as if the computer is running.

essentially, this question is not whether my information is stored in memory or on the hard drive, what power I am saving, etc..  I just want to know, standby or hybrid sleep in windows vista on a portable computer, the hard drive always turns?

The hard drive (and monitor) turn off during the sleep or hibernation mode.  The only thing is that some things can take the system into "sleep" or hibernation mode (some connectios network can do if configured to do so) how the hard drive and maybe the monitor turns on.  If you pay attention to set up your power options and network options, this should not be a problem for you.  Here's a great article on the problems of Power Options and Sleep Mode so that you can check to make sure that you have none of the problems listed and can be corrected if you: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567-power-options-sleep-mode-problems.html.  I suggest you carefully read this article if you intend to be rude with your laptop, because you consider the closed disc.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Hybrid sleep

What is Eve hybrid?  I had to disable mine because she would not allow the computer to wake up after sleeping.

    Thanks for all the information.

First of all, I use Vista 32, but there is a lot of info that transfers.  Second, through the tutorial and found I need to disable hybrid sleep.  Ironically, when I ran invites him Command PowerCFG-a results says S3 (hybrid sleep) was the only one available as s1 and s4 were not available.  S3 is the only one who don't wake up on my machine.  Well, it works fine now.

  • My computer keeps in sleep hibernation even if hybrid sleep is turned off

I SLEEP my computer at night before going to bed and when I turn it on in the morning go to Hibernate.  I don't want to do that, I just keep it asleep.  I disabled the hybrid sleep in the advanced power settings.

    I am running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, I have a motherboard Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3.

    Any ideas why this happens?

    Thank you

  • Shortcuts commands vs hybrid sleep

I tried to create a desktop shortcut to place my computer Windows 8 in mode "standby".  After a lot of research online, I tried several proposed commands (ex: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState 0,1,0), each of which seem to place the computer in "hibernate" instead of "sleep".  It was suggested to use any first order to disable 'hybrid' (ex: powercfg-Hibernate implementation,) followed by running the command "sleep".  It seems to me to get the same result: "hybrid" mode instead of "sleep".  Anyone would be able to offer the correct command "sleep"?  I want to be able to order the computer in the exact same resulting state by clicking on the button 'sleep' in the settings/power found in 'charms '.  Please help, thanks.

Sandeep, first off I apologize for you accused of being too busy to read my question completely.  It turns out, I'm the one at fault for not reading your response more carefully and thoroughly.  You had, in fact, gave me the key to my problem by suggesting the I run the "hibernate" as a high command.  When I took the time to do exactly as you suggest my problem has been resolved.  Thank you very much for your excellent help Sandeep.

  • Satellite Pro T130 - problems in sleep mode after you install the update wireless

After installing the 3G modem & updates on day of Wireless manager from 29 September, my laptop began to have trouble waking sleep mode. Most of the time I had to hard stop. I solved currently the changing options issued for the "sleep mode" in the Panel, for the most part by turning off the advanced features (hybrid sleep, sleep, sleep network adapters usb). However, I want to solve the problem no doubt, as the current options require more time to enter the mode 'sleep'.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro T130 running under Windows 7 64-bit.

    Please help us :-)

You have installed the updates recommended by Tempro?
You can send us you have installed versions?

I assume that with the old versions you didn t have this problem?

  • ZBook17: How can I keep my laptop switch mode 'sleep'

How can I keep my computer to switch into mode 'sleep'. At the moment, the screen turns off in a minute about. I adjusted all the settings of power, but nothing seems to help.

I regret that none of these steps seems to fix your problem, it's frustrating. Here are some more that you can try to see if the problem is resolved or changes in some way:

    1. Installation/update antivirus application and definitions, then run a virus in Windows scan check that no virus or malware
    2. Disabling hybrid sleep in Windows
    3. Disabling the requirement for password during the resumption of the mode standby
    4. Try a different power source

  • Portege Z10t - A PT132A goes to sleep after 60 seconds of noninteraction

    Portege Z10t-A PT132A-00F00T

My Tablet continues to go to sleep after about 60 seconds of noninteraction.
I can watch youtube, read, listen to music... etc and after about 60 seconds of me not to touch the display turns on outside and all the audio and video stop.
As soon as I touch the screen it wakes up again.

I was in the power options and retouched for the power supply and battery.
I put Sun/Eve forever to the two options as a test, but still it does.

I missed a place where it is defined elsewhere?
    Very annoying

    Hello

Is it in laptop mode when Toshiba keyboard Dock is fixed or in tablet mode only?
Is it if the adapter is connected or only when the adapter is removed?

The computer will automatically mode 'sleep' according to the sin of setting power options. To access this click
Office-> Office help-> Control Panel-> system and security-> power options options
(or Win key + X-> power options)

Here you should find the option called display auto power OFF
This feature automatically cuts off the power to the screen when there is no input of keyboard for a while

You can also see the hybrid sleep feature that appears also in Power Options.

In addition, I recommend check you the settings of Intel Display Power Saving technology.
    This feature is enabled by default and controls the current consumption b< optimizing="" the="" picture="" contrast="" and="" internal="" lcd.="" this="" can="" be="" used="" if="" notebook="" is="" running="" in="" battery="" mode="" and="" using="" the="" internal="" lcd="" display="">

To access this feature, he must right click on the desktop, and then click graphics properties
-> Select battery from the drop-down list in the power source, and then click Power.
Then, clear the checkbox display energy saving technology and lick OK.

  • Display Manager does not start after Satellite A210-117 wakes up from his sleep

    Hello

I have some difficulty with a Satellite A210-117 PSAELE-00E00MFR. I installed W7 x 64 professional and display driver ATI Catalyst to Radeon HD 2400.

My graphics card appears in Device Manager as an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 with the current version of the driver 8.970.100.3000 from AMD, and I can't find a better.

So far, so good, but as soon as W7 goes into 'sleep' or 'hybrid sleep', the display manager does not re - start correctly. He keeps trying to display Windows, but finally the phone re boots.
But if I put the laptop to 'Hibernate', then he wakes up fine.

I don't know if this problem is known, because I can't find anything on the Internet on this subject independently to obtain the latest driver. Anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Concerning
    Eric

    Hello

On the page of the Toshiba UE driver (Archive), you will find drivers for Win 7 32 bit A210.
Driver ATI 8.452 - 080109 is available too.
Its a previous version and I recommend to test the unit by using this version of the driver

  • HP Pavilion g6-2249wm Notebook PC out of mode 'sleep'.

Hi, I bought my HP Pavilion g6 on 23 February, and on the first day, it never happened 'sleep' mode. If she goes to sleep, I have to make a difficult start and then start it again. I'm no computer expert, but I don't know my way around troubleshooting PC... I read about the possibility of it needing a BIOS update (but also read it was risky, so I don't bother.) Well one day, my HP Support Assistant told me he had to update the BIOS, so I left it. Everything is fine, and everything is up-to-date. Is this just a gliche? Should I apply for coverage and get a new one? Thanks for your help!

    Hey gvass646,

Thanks for getting back to me with this information. I checked that F.23 is the latest version, if you are up to date. Before I suggest you uninstall Malwarebytes (because I used it before me, I know that this is not a bad program), I want you to take a look at the advanced power options.

    1. Windows Key + Q to bring up the search bar

    2. tap 'power '.

    3. click on settings under the search bar

    4. click on power on the left in the results Options

    5. click on change Plan settings next to the management of food which is selected (right)

    6. click on change power settings (bottom) advanced

    7. go to sleep and expand this section

    8. ensure that Allow hybrid sleep is set to one. Click on apply and test it by closing the lid or put it to sleep like you normally do. See if she wakes up from his sleep after this change.

    9. If this does the trick, return to the advanced power options window. Scroll down the power buttons and lid, expand this article completely, take a screenshot and attach it to your response, please. Here are some steps to help with a screenshot.

10 let me know how you normally use the computer. Don't you close the cover when you are done or leave the lid open and let go to standby mode after a short period of time?

    Forward to your response
