  I'm reinstalling CS3 Web Standard after a hard disk crash. I have my serial number, but after entering, it does a check of upgrade, and at the time wherever I upgraded I also did a single switch from Mac to PC - so my product calling (Studio MX Mac) has a serial number starting with "WSM600"... ", while the upgrade check won't accept - Studio MX Mac is not yet available as an option. This happened once before and I had to work with a representative by phone (I had to click in a hidden part of one of the activation screens to get a number, if I remember correctly), but apparently Adobe that does more. And the page of "www.adobe.com/go/activiation" the phone message directs you to doesn't seem to have an option for this problem either.

  So, what is the replacement or her work around this problem now?

  It is surprising that the Adobe staff did you not directly on the updated versions of Lr; the fact is that it is possible to update any version, starting by v1 to v6 bypassing versions between the two, and you download the upgrade even regardless of the installed version of Lr.   On my a MBPro 2010 I have that I gave to my mother that I upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan.  After the installation, a dialog box kept popping up asking for a password to iCloud.  Entering it, she would get the fan of spinning of death and he locked the computer... also I was unable to download the updates.

  Is returned to the local Apple retailer and they ran diagnostics and find nothing, but when they had to enter the serial number to run the diagnostic program is re-entered the serial number and everything seems to be fine.  Lucky for me that this has been done before they charged me $120 bench tax.

  Looks like you almost fell victim to a certain type of adware. Installation, upgrade or reinstall that OS will not mess with serial number.

  Lee - there are a number of possibilities. First of all, it depends whether you burn audio disks or data - if they are audio discs, you can check and rearrange the order of songs in the burn list - if necessary - before you start burning. If you drag multiple files to the burn list quite often the last track you clicked on will go upward, so I wonder if it is what can happen. Back with a little more detail if I not quite correctly interpreted the problem. Best regards, Ric.
