  I have a used PC only for old games (Zoo Tycoon, Sims2, Rollercoaster Tycoon etc..) I wiped the system and start from scratch: there is no internet connection on this computer and I only have the options of running Windows Server 2008, or Windows XP Professional.   As requested just burst in to offer my opinion.  I think XP would be the best of those choices, simply because it was more oriented and consumers more likely to run these programs (possibly in compatibility mode). Although really for some, it might be the case that you need for Windows 95/98 to play, so ultimately it may require virtual box or something similar to get those running.

  I installed SQL server 2008 originally, but it was the improper installation, so I proceeded to the installation of SQL server 2008 R2, but ended up with a full installation with errors!   MagicISO should be good do the job. You don't have to worry about doing whatever it is bootable. When you create an ISO image for a bootable CD/DVD already all these things start will appear in the image.

  I have a problem with Windows Server 2008 R2, where I am unable to install updates.  I already ran the Microsoft Fixit and he relate not apparently something wrong that either it reports an error.

  In trying to apply updates to a manual download, I get the following in the Event Viewer error.

• Task Scheduler, Win Server 2008 - connected or not 2147942403 error

  I created a task scheduler with the Security Option to "run if the user is logged in or not."  But he fails even though I am connected with an error value: 2147942403.  If I change the Sec Opt to "Run only when the user is connected", the task will run flawless.

  I am a user (not administrator) on a Windows Server 2008.  The user name & pass are configured correctly.  Is that my Admin has to do to fix this?

  I tried and it worked. What's in your trace files? You specified two different, both files in / tmp. Journal will be in one of them. Please, view the contents of the log file.
