  • Software update service: push updates to clients

    Hi all

I just set up OS X 5.0 for the first time, so it is all quite new to me. Is it possible to get the OS updates from the server to clients registered? I read about the differences between the update server and software of caching, and since you can't run both at the same time and think the update service is more convenient if we consider only provide updates to OS X clients. My understanding is that users must apply the update on the app store, but is it possible to push updates to clients instead? Even a command would be useful, so I can run remote commands from the terminal on any client, but really, I'm open to any suggestion.

    Thank you very much

    E.

    Welcome to the forums.

So, there's two ways to look at this issue.  You can "push" updates to customers or you can tell customers to "pull" updates.  Let's look at a few options.

If you go the mentality of 'push', you must visit the Apple website and download individual installers or use a master machine to pull updates from the App Store.  Then, you can use tools from the Apple Remote Desktop to JAMF to deliver these updates for client devices.  It can exercise a level of control that determine only you, the doorman, where the devices are updated.  However, several updates require reboots if you need to be selective in your calendar, because you don't want to pull the rug out from under a user.  In addition, pushing updates to date still require local execution of the installation program.  If you do not have a command on all devices administrator account, you will not be able to allow installation.

Now, you can also "pull" updates.  Indeed, this is what happens when you run the software update manually.  Ah, but there are options that you have found.  You can just pull everything Apple, but if you have a slow Internet connection and a lot of features, you can paralyze you.  You can deploy the software update server, but then you get everything from Apple for the past 8 years, that 90% you do not want.  Oh, and the software update server means that you need to customize each device with custom update path.  If you deploy portable computers, which means that they must be on your local network to get updates because the substitution is supported by a URL.  The last method is through caching server.  Caching server requires no customization of the client side and puts in cache only what you ask.  The first device application will require a download to Apple, but all subsequent devices can pull out of your cache server.  Very effective.

So, you decide to enable a client 'pull' and realize that the caching server is probably the best way to do it.  Ah, but you still don't want to visit all the machines.  You can use the softwareupdate command-line tool to perform an audit of software across the entire fleet (softwareupdate man for more details).  For example, let's say you have 10 machines and you have Apple Remote Desktop.  You can send a Unix command for all 10 machines such as: softwareupdate-i - a

That command will tell each machine to install (-i) all (-a) updates available.  You can also target specific updates so if you need to be selective (Apple released iTunes and an updated OS the same day and you don't want to push iTunes until you post the update of the OS for example).  softwareupdate-i NameOfiTunesUpdate.pkg.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 - reinstalled on the new PC, impossible to activate, the Adobe customer service sent link to download the new? others? Version. Installed, but on the installer said series

With raw interface of Adobe, I thought that the screen that gave me was to ask the question; He didn't inform me that I was typing the subject line. But unless clunkily review:

Have an old but legitimate copy of Adobe 7.0. I had to get a new computer. I reinstalled A7.0 of my disks, but Internet and phone reactivation failed. After having jumped through the independent windows on the Adobe site, found the link to Customer Service chat. The representative told me that I had to download a new one? different? A7.0 version leave a link, he sent me. I did it.

I have successfully downloaded the new? version 7.0 and installed it. But the installation, when I was asked for my serial number, he said it was an invalid number. I tried again, without dashes, without success. I went back to the Adobe Customer Service, where a person told me that I had to download a new? different? A7.0 version. I told her to re-read my original post, I had already done. After a long wait, she told me that she did not know much about A7.0 and told me to go to the Adobe communities.

So, Adobe communities, here hoping one of you has the most knowledge about the installation of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Acrobat Customer Service!

    Thank you

    Marc

Sounds like you are trying to install with the ORIGINAL serial number provided with your product rather than the NEW one with the download.

Adobe do support the last two versions (10 and 11) so if they have knowledge of 7 at all it's just a lucky accident...!

Furthermore, I hope that you install on an old computer to Windows XP, because you won't get far in Windows 7 or Windows 8 with this version...

  • How the proxy service can get the client certificate in Oracle Service Bus

Hello everyone, now I'm confused in how can get service proxy client certificate in Oracle Service Bus. I have configured bidirectional SSL in Weblogic, the client sends its cerficate to Weblogic and Weblogic checks this cerficate if have access permissions Weblogic, but my proxy service cannot obtain this certificate to do more work, who can help me?
And my proxy service service type is the messaging service.

    Thank you!!!
    Sea

Hi, if you have configured for client certificate authentication, weblogic maps an attribute in the DN of the client certificate to a user of weblogic security realm. The attribute is controlled by the default configuration to map the user in the default identity asserter in the WLS Console--> security--> kingdoms--> suppliers--> default identity Asserter. Generally, the CN attribute is selected for this purpose. You must also create a user in the security field, with the value of this attribute in the client certificate for authentication to succeed. Once the authentication is successful, the user is used as the authenticated user. So if you want to set permissions for authorization on the proxy, you can do it based on this user. For this you need not the certificate of the client. In the pipeline of message, I guess you can get the authenticated user of $inbound, which in turn corresponds to an attribute in the DN of the client certificate.

  • Tracker client 1.0 - which extends Customer Tracker

Hello, I'm quite new to the apex and

I wish to extend Customer Tracker in the following sense:

-birthday party guests included (means to implement the new collar containing this date)
-have the last date of each customer order (how to handle this easily)
-get customers with address for example printed (as dissemination activity)
    with birthday tomorrow
So last order date not more selection for example 3 years.

It seems not so hard - sorry for me, it's at this point.
Any help, pointing to a direction, hands on, url, etc. is very apreciated.

    Kind regards
    Harald

    Harald,

I suggest that tackle you your problems one at a time. Lets start with the addition of a new field - the date of birth. The main steps are:
    1. Add the column to DB.
2 change the form (s) to work with the new column.
    3. edit the report (s) to show the new column.

Which of these do you need help?

    Kind regards

  • Disks hard not found on normal startup, but reappear in Mode safe

I had problems with my system, since I manually (like to press the power button) shut down my system XP W when ThinkPoint gave me a screen fake infection and wouldn't let me close the window.  After that, all symptoms shouted 'virus' (slow performance, browser redirections, etc.) then I ran scans with MacAffee, Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware.   Malwarebytes found two instances of bad registry, but SAS and Macaffee entries do nothing are, repeatedly.  Also, when I tried to boot the system after the scans, I arrived at the last MS Windows display before the connection of the guest user and after five seconds of so on this window, a blue screen popped up for literally less than half second, and the computer restarted after the BIOS screen.  It simply wouldn't start with extra hard drives connected (1 SATA channel and two EIDE disks) UNLESS I started in safe mode.  Then she start and recognize all readers.

After a nice weekend by removing what was left of my hair, and after reading MSE on the web, I uninstalled MacAfee, downloaded and installed MSE; so quickly found seven problems.  They are (were):

    JavaDownloader Java/OpenStream.W
    Exploit: Java / CVE-2008-5353. C
    Exploit: Java / CVE-2009 - 3867.HE
    Exploit: Java / CVE-2008-5353. QB
    Exploit: Java / CVE-2008-5353. PZ
    TrojanDownloader / OpenConnection.CL
    MonitoringTool:Win32 / KGBKeylogger! DLL

After performing the analysis and removing the offending files I tried to reconnect the SATA 1 canal drive, but got the same behavior; a normal start to the last image of Windows XP for low resolution, then quick blue screen (which, although I tried several times by pressing the pause/break key I still have to read... my fingers seem not to be fast enough to catch it) and repeated that it recharges, all with the same effect.  My question is if I burned my motherboard, or is there something I'm missing.  Oh, and one of the attempts of repair was a relocation complete W XP and all the service packs and updates.  Still no access to the hard drives.  As I am a photographer/editor, and there are about 2 million files on my hard drive I sort of need them.

    Someone has suggestions

One step probably you should take is to do a system restore; However, since you have reinstalled Windows, backup directories are probably history.

Safe mode is just Windows running with most of the programs and services.  Usually when Safe Mode works fine, but the Normal Mode is not, it is because a program or a Service that starts in Normal Mode interferes somehow.  How to attack, that is to use 'msconfig' utility of Microsoft selectively enable/disable optional programs and miscellaneous services until you find one that gives you grief.  This can be a long trial and error method.  In addition, it is unlikely that you have a hardware problem, if you can access the drives in safe mode.

"How to solve configuration errors by using the System Configuration utility in Windows XP"

In any case, my first step if I were you would to save critical data on your other internal readers on an external USB drive.  If you can not do this under Windows, then create a CD of Linux Live free (for example Knoppix ), boot from this CD and then back up the data on your discs to a USB stick or a network drive.  Creating a Linux Live disk is also simple download one ".iso" file and use the "burn Image" of your program of CD burning to create the bootable CD.

  • Windows 7 hanging on shutdown

I hope that I do not impinge on the patience of the people. I'm really seeking help on an issue, but that overlap with others because they may be related.

My computer has suddenly started to hang on shutdown. I searched the forums for an answer, but without success. Several similar cases but none are of no real help.

Someone has an answer that actually healed that they know or may have encountered?

I wonder if something works in the background is the culprit in failing to turn off completely. With this in mind, I visited 'msconfig' and disabled a few Services but many that I don't know everything, so I hesitate. I am posting my action below.

I ran sfc/scannow and disk cleanup. Defragmentation is done regularly.

    I am running Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate on a high-end computer...

I ask pretty well, but I wonder if there is a Microsoft MSVP who knows enough about the Services and can quickly tell me which of these I can disable safely.  I'm of age 80 years so no longer do any business on my computer. I play the odd game - MW, Call of Duty, Rage et al.: no multiplayer - and to organize my medication with Excel...! - but that's all.

Thanks in advance for any help

  • Can I remove random photos in the system volume information?

I understand very well this file.  I rarely restore, but sometimes I do.  The problem is that some files, aka viruses that have been removed, take place that I prefer to use for something else, aka my plans f #.  Can I delete random files in this folder?  I understand that I can remove the control panel restore point, but I want only to remove a specific file.  In fact, I don't know if this file is the file that I want to delete because of all the file names.  I made fair carsick enter this folder.  I want to just delete large files.  So the question is simply: is there something important it?

System Restore uses log files to keep track of things, if you try to restore a point and System Restore detects that which is missing files or that it has been tampered with the restore point will fail.  Bert Kinney, one of the greatest experts on the restoration of the system, explains that the individual restore points can not be removed because... "Each restore points is chained (or related) as well as the previous restore points." When you choose to restore a system all him previous restore point are required to perform a restore, so if one is missing the chain will be broken and cause all the restore points are corrupt. At this point, all restore points will have to correct the corruption. So the best advice is DON'T touch the content of the System Volume Information folder. " http://bertk.mvps.org/html/Tips.html#8

If you removed a virus if the deletion was successful and the system now works fine the best thing to do is to purge ALL restore points after having removed the virus successfully.

You're overthinking this and you're too attached to restore points, if the computer is running well at the moment and if it has been so for a week or two then you can get rid of and then restore points create a new.  Set maximum disk usage that is suitable for the points of restore and you will recover some of your disk space for another use.

In his blog Raymond says that 'folder contains casual interference could cause problems with the correct operation of the information system.  It could, but not necessarily cause problems.  For all its value, you can disable the system restore and other services that might use the IVR (indexing, Volume Shadow Copy & Distributed Link Tracking Service) (services that you might not use anyway) and then delete the entire folder, Windows simply creates a new brilliant when you restart!  Then when you restart the system restore or other services that use the folder they will just repopulate the record with their files.  People who make use of indexing service will generally not want to clear the folder because it takes a lot of "disk churning" to build a large catalog of indexation.

  • There are two folders in my D drive named a $RECYCLE. BIN and an other named 'System volume information' is thease records a part of the activity of any virus?

I just want to know is the two folders named "$RECYCLE." BIN and System volume information"in my drive D is a part of a virus activity because when I remove the trash to the folder it disappears, and when I try to delete the other folder recycle comes back and I can't remove to access the second folder named, the system volume information?
    Please help me.

    concerning

These are the two typical Windows system folders. $Recycle.bin is exactly that, the files in the folder are actually moved to when removing other parts of the car. He installed this folder on each drive that you see when you open the Recycle bin icon on the desktop.

System Volume Information is a system folder and contains all the files that reside on the disk that are included in food, distributed link tracking Service points, content indexing Services and Volume Snapshot Service. This deletion would be a very good way to break your computer.

You deleted the parameter Hide protected system files that should never be done unless you have a specific reason to do so. The setting is there for a reason.

  • How to fix the event ID 12507

Recently, I cloned my C: drive to my second drive E:. I've used Ghost V15. C: was the first partition on disk 0 and E; has been the first partition on disk 1. After a start using Device Management the first partition on disk 0 is E: (system) and the first partition on disk 1 C: (Page File) no player shows that (trunk). If I get all the system files, they show, for example, E:\Windows\system32\drivers. Variable %windir%\System32 shows like E:\WINDOWS.

I can't tell what disk startup took place, C: or E:. Boot.ini does not reference the second disc. This is so as it initialized from E: but the pagefile is on C: on the second disc.

    How can I fix?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Event is pasted below-

    Event type: error

Event source: distributed link followed customer

    Event category: no

    Event ID: 12507

    Date: 18/09/2011

    Time: 17:10:14

    User: n/a

    Computer: HOME-PC

    Description:

The E: volume ID has been reset, since it was a duplicate of one on C:.  This volume ID is used by distributed link tracking to automatically repair the files, such as the shortened links of the Shell and OLE links, when for some reason any such links will be broken.

Here's how Device Manager shows my disks-

    Disk 0 Partition 1 E: healthy (System)

Disk 1 Partition 1 C: healthy (swap file)

    Thank you

    Joe

I discover that the system starts on the E: drive, which was my original C: drive on device 0. The C: drive active, 1 device, was the original E: drive before the clone.

I would like to get my system back to where the E: drive is C: and e: C:. All the stuff of the OS on E: and Documents and Settings is on C:.

Can I copy C:\Documents and setting to e: delete the C: drive that is on my second drive and starts to get the thing back as if they were?

I can't with cloning, I just need to cancel it.

    Thank you

    Joe

In addition, my OS is Windows Media Center SP3.

I fixed it by reinstalling Windows.

  • Windows 8 Group Policy client service, has no sign in

    Hello

I am running Windows 8 Professional, and over the past two days have experienced random errors, try to connect.
First of all, when I log on as a standard user, I get the message ' customer service group policy has no sign in "and cannot connect.  If I try to log in as administrator I can connect but Windows recreates the profile from scratch and when I get to the menu start I have no apps posted and it cannot find all the programs through research.  This problem has happened twice now, and it seems to settle temporarily after the reboot, but this morning, it took 4 reboots to fix.
I also have the error "Windows could not connect to the system event notification service", and once again, it seems setting after restarting a few.
I scanned my SDD on which the operating system is installed and there is no error reported.
I am worried that during the next reboot the problem will come back and will not be repaired.  Can you please tell me how to resolve this.
    Kind regards
    Matthew

OK, guys, I already posted solution in other threads, and it's for Windows 7. But it seems that it's exactly the same problem and a very widespread--caused by accident during the restart initiated by Windows Update.  I'm to re-post here.  If anyone can test it on Windows 8 would be great.  If you need my help let me know - I'm really very interested to test it on Windows 8.

I had this problem on my laptop since November, and it really annoyed me.  I sifted through the event log and found the model of events leading up to the issue and, probably, he did.

In short, the model is as follows: Windows updates automatically run as planned, and when restarting is launched after the updates are complete, the computer crashes (probably during the reboot sequence).  When starting, it signals that the last stop was not planned, and the question starts to happen.

I spent 2 days trying to dig a solution by Internet, without success, until I came across this page.  It says nothing about this particular problem, but it gives more information on the SVCHOST process that launches many services, including Group Policy Client.  It seems that when restarting vital registry settings have been lost during the accident and Group Policy Client 'does not know' how to start.  Let me explain:

There are two places to look in the registry:

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services this path must contain gpsvc key (a record), which is responsible for the configuration and service settings.  I found the key was intact, so you do not touch anything here - just check that the key exists.
    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows svchost It's the most important way you should look at in, because it should contain keys and values under the #1 key.  Here are descriptions of what must be present there.
    • There must be called GPSvcGroupmulti-string value. My laptop was missing it.  Thus, you must create the multi-string value called GPSvcGroup and assign it the value GPSvc.
    • Then, you must create a key (a folder) and name it GPSvcGroup - this key should normally be there, but, again, that it was missin on my laptop.
    • Open the newly created GPSvcGroup folder, then create 2 DWORD values:
    1. First called AuthenticationCapabilities and you must give it a value of 0 x 00003020 (or in decimal form 12320)
    2. Second, called CoInitializeSecurityParam , and it must have the value 1.

When you have finished all the above steps, restart the computer, and the problem will be solved.
